Wow! We filled a thread!

Hope you all find this new one!

Our evening was great, had a lovely time. kids were all very well behaved. dd sleeping in our bedroom is a nightmare tho - she's sooo noisy!

we need a 3rd bedroom

we're off for Sunday lunch at The Botanist later YUM!

2cute, we're scheduled to have skids that weekend but not confirmed yet. if we do, not sure if i could come and don't want to invite 2 extra kids and dh as that'd be rather cheeky! if we don't then we'll be there

it's far too early for a Sunday!

Is Kew in the arvo?

eleusis · 17/02/2007 10:11

1:00

Paddlechick666 · 17/02/2007 10:24

i'll prob go to kew after foxie's.

dd will be ready for her nap and i could prob do with some fresh air.

i feel crap! honestly i used to be so good at drinking!

OP posts:
eleusis · 17/02/2007 10:41

Paddle, drink lots of water or even better is powerade. The spports drinks are designed specifically to rehydrate you. And of course nurofen/paracemal.

I drank a few beers last night and somehow seem to have escaped the hangover today.

What time is Foxie's? (not that you would catch me dead at a book club gathering)

suejonez · 17/02/2007 10:47

D has only ust gone down for a nap so will be late for book club dependng on the time I will walk over to Kew directly to meet you Ele.

Is chitting potatoes legal?

suejonez · 17/02/2007 10:50

Did I miss Oxo offering luxurious foreign holiday then??

D has a kazakh passport until he is readopted so its a chore getting visas for him to go abroad but I'm also a Maybe next year. This summer will be Isle of Wight.

eleusis · 17/02/2007 11:00

Sue, are we still on for 1:00 at C and C? I could push back 'til 2:00 if that's better for you.

Also, anyone have a parking recommendation. It has only just occurred to me that there might be no where to park on a Saturday afternoon.

Paddlechick666 · 17/02/2007 16:00

afternoon all

foxie, thanks for hosting again. was great to see everyone and catch up.

forgot to tell you but have had 2 cheques in post. one from your sister and another one without any accompanying note but assume they're your friend and it's for the FSIDS thing. Thanks!

Kew was mobbed but the kids all had a good time.

dunno about dd but i'm ready for bed LOL!

Paddle - was great to see you. Didn't get much chance to chat to you though LOL!!

I almost cancelled the book swap during the week as I was so tired, but glad I didn't as I felt great today and we really emjoyed seeing everyone

Mellow/SFX/MrsD - thanks for the loan of those books

MrsD - glad you're still in circulation

OMG I didn't give you your DVDs again did I??

The kids are now tucking into a huge plate of egg and soldiers

Paddlechick666 · 17/02/2007 16:33

just stuffed down 2 pieces of honey toast - am starving!

Vera Drake is on TV tonight - 9pm I think. popcorn time I reckon.

glad you didn't cancel, let me know if there's anything you need doing/help with etc. the late stage pg is bad enough without the SPD mate.

OP posts:
suejonez · 17/02/2007 16:41

saw Vera drake at the cinema fab film but too depressing for me tonight need to find something more like CSI!

suejonez · 17/02/2007 16:43

thanks for hosting Foxie - felt I did nothing other than eat cake (didn't even talk about books ) but then walked from your house to Kew Gardens around Kew gardens then walked home again so am buggered now. Have decided D needs a "nap" - so he is playing in his cot for 20 mins whilst I relax...

suejonez · 17/02/2007 16:45

and thanks for clotehs Uwila (and jacket paddle) I haven;t opened the bag yet - too exhausted.

C&C was mad wasn;t it? Have visions f lovely picnics in Kew in the summer with D running around on the grass - but it won't be anywhere near c&C as I don't think my nerves could stand it.

foxabout2pop · 17/02/2007 16:50

That cake was lovely - thanx SFX

Paddle the thing I am worried about is that when I go into labour either:

DH won't get home on time or I won't be able to contact him (he works the other sied of London)
I won't be able to contact my Dad, who is going to care for the kids
Or I'll contact my Dad and he'll take ages to get here so there will be no one to care for the kids

I'm not worried about the birth at all - just the logistics of getting DH and my Dad back and making sure the kids are OK....arrrgghh

A couple of neighbours have said we can knock on their door and they'll babysit if need be. Its a worrying time for the DCs and I don't want it to be stressful for them on the day.

foxabout2pop · 17/02/2007 16:51

Sue - which day is your DS going to the CM's next week?

sfxmum · 17/02/2007 17:02

hi everyone

thanks for hosting foxie, always lovely to see everyone, but was a bit too spaced to talk properly.
i love baking so no chore happy to do it, dh ate the one i left at homeonly one slice left when i got home

dd was very tired by the time we got home, she slept then when she woke up keept talking about everyone and the blond little boy she befriended at the park

Paddlechick666 · 17/02/2007 17:07

god is vera drake depressing then? bugger! not sure i'm in the mood for getting even more depressed - the Dad overload at C&C was enough for me today.

Foxie, I'm happy to be a back up if you need another one. You've got my mobile. It does take about an hour or so to get home from work but if it's a weekend or a WFH day I could be over there in 15 mins.

The logistics are tough when you've got the older ones to consider huh.

Paddle - its nice to know you are there - hopefully I won't need to drag you down here. If I go into labour during the day, I have a couple of school Mum's who can pick up the kids. If its between 11pm-8am, my neighbour has offered to sit in. During the evening hopefully my Dad will be home....

My dad keeps saying "so when's it likely to be then?" -

Last time was the same, I was more worried about DS and him feeling stressed than about the actual birth.

I have to have something to worry about don't I?

Sue - don't forget to drop the Kew Gardens pass back - I'd love to see you for a coffee next week anyway if you're around

COV - Its dreadful not having your bag isn't it? Hope you make DH go out and buy you some sudafed

SFX I told you the cake was delicious!! You didn't seem spaced out - I thought we had a nice chat. Or parhaps you and I are on the same spaced out wavelength atm! LOL

Paddlechick666 · 17/02/2007 19:05

wow! it's a record, 7pm and dd is asleep!

out like a light after her incredibly busy day and not having had a morning nap.

i suppose she'll be up really early tomorrow now tho

foxie, you've got it covered i think but am more than happy to be on standby too - even if just to wait for your dad or something.

think i might go to Tesco at Osterley tomorrow morning - Sue got me all excited about it last week!

OP posts:
eleusis · 17/02/2007 19:06

Sudafed? Make him go buy you a bag (and sudafed).

COV, wwe must make a plan to get together on weekends. DD keeps asking about your DD and I really would like them to get together again. Maybe we could drop them in the creche in Kingston and go get lunch for ourselves one day.

foxabout2pop · 17/02/2007 19:08

Hi Eluesi - hope Kew was good

Paddle - tell me about Tesco at Osterley. You know I worship at the alter of Tesco

WTF is Osterley anyway? Near the A4?

foxabout2pop · 17/02/2007 19:08

I mean A40?

suejonez · 17/02/2007 19:08

Foxie - thanks for the pass - I can pop it around at some point on Monday if taht ssuits you. D is going to Brenda on Wednesday next week and I will be working at home

Paddlechick shows how differnet our circumstances are (yet strangely similar) as I was eyeing up all the dads wondering if any of them were single

foxabout2pop · 17/02/2007 19:09

Sue - we may be out Monday (scan) but you can pop it through the letterbox.

Does that mean you don't fancy meeting me for coffee next week then?
