Wow! We filled a thread!

Hope you all find this new one!

Our evening was great, had a lovely time. kids were all very well behaved. dd sleeping in our bedroom is a nightmare tho - she's sooo noisy!

we need a 3rd bedroom

we're off for Sunday lunch at The Botanist later YUM!

2cute, we're scheduled to have skids that weekend but not confirmed yet. if we do, not sure if i could come and don't want to invite 2 extra kids and dh as that'd be rather cheeky! if we don't then we'll be there

it's far too early for a Sunday!

PC: I had allergic reaction to insect bite and fainted in work loo when splashing water on my face.

the allergic reaction made me faint (an unusual reaction I'll grant you, don't think that's happened before!) but the real damage was by falling full throttle onto my head in work loo. I didn't feel it as I was out cold, but does hurt like heck now.

so - here's a tip, if you feel faint, LIE DOWN, avoid the fall. unfortunately I didn't see it coming so didn't have time to prepare.

sorry to read dh has gone awol again. what a bummer. you must have the patience of a saint. you are dealing with this problem way better than I ever could. best of luck with that.

Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2007 08:39

ah i see! i'd thought for a minute it was an allergic reaction to work LOL!

is there anything you need? let me know if i can do anything to help.......

re dh: patience or stupidity is a question i often ask myself.

tedious it certainly is.

Jeez, Oxo. There are other (safer) ways to make a lasting impression at work. Glad you're okay now.

Right, book meet up... didn't know there was one. But, if anyone who is not going to the book event wants to come round to Sunbury you are more than welcome. And, if not, then I'm sure I'll find something else to do with DD and DS.

Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2007 08:41

uwila, why don't you come to the book thing? it's not really bookish i promise!

OP posts:
sfxmum · 12/02/2007 08:42

morning all

xoxo - glad to hear you are ok but ouch!

sue - ds seems to be on the mend poor thing

hi to everyone else

all ok here although i am panicking about the exam on the 1st, nowhere near prepared, so am a bit flustered trying to plan activities for dd, study time and general house stuff

uwila · 12/02/2007 08:48

Thanks, but I am cetainly no bibliophile (it's a wonder I even know what that word means).

This is the only weekend Michael is likely to be away. So I wqanted to do something fun for me and the kids. If everyone is going to the book thig. Then, that's fine we'll find something else to do.

And thanks for the invite. I don't mean to be unappreciative. But I really would have nothing to contribute to the conversation.

xoxo · 12/02/2007 08:48

uwila: how about we crash the book thing and form a renegades corner and talk about movies all the time?

go back to work tomorrow - am so embarrassed (ambulanced out )

anyone up for meet/ play this am?? If not then we're off to M&S to buy a valentines meal and partake of a well deserved cappaccino

uwila · 12/02/2007 08:50

Oh SFX, I just saw you message about not being pg. Sorry, I missed it earlier.

foxabout2pop · 12/02/2007 09:00

Oxo - you poor thing, that's terrible for you what a shock as well - are you off sick now with your skull fracture?

I'm around next week if you're still off work and want to meet up.

Uwila - if you wanted to meet in the arvo then people would be free. The book thing will be 11am-1pm ish, and only about 4/5 are coming i.e. not everyone - its a small select group of intellectuals LOL

foxabout2pop · 12/02/2007 09:01

sfx is your exam 1st March - you got loadsatime to panick!!!

I usually book out 2/3 days beforehand and just revise like mad 9memorise everything then regurgitate it).

O2BMe · 12/02/2007 09:06

Foxie - I'll have to dig the books out, as I have no idea. Sadly it's a pile of books a friend gave me and to be honest I am never going to get around to reading them. They are mainly novels with a mixture of fiction and non fiction. Not much help I know but I'll let you know some of the titles maybe.

pudding77 · 12/02/2007 09:16

oxo - glad you're better if a little sore! It's ds's swimming lesson today but you're welcome to come to mine for a cup of tea at around 3-ish if you'd like - and anyone else who's free is also welcome of course! Ds will probably be asleep as swimming always tires him out!

sfxmum · 12/02/2007 09:26

uwila - thanks but its ok really trying again is not a chore, and i have a list of boy names as well as a chosen girl name.

xoxo - not sure how far i can stray today but am taking dd to music class at mothercare at 10.50 and can always pop over to M&S for coffee afterwards if you fancy it (retail park)

foxie - my problem is that dh is working everyday until the end of the month so i have no solid block of time to cram, i usually get a few weekend hrs before each essay to write up but not this time

and book club phobics, films are also discussed btw can't remember much literary criticism happening last time

xoxo · 12/02/2007 09:27

Thanks guys but it's this am I have to fill. Foxy - I didn't even think of taking time off work - I'm back tomorrow which is when I'm due back anyway.
I guess if it gets too much then I'll go home but as a newbie I'm on 6mths probation so don't want to blow it.
anyawy, if I can be well enough to go to the lollipop club I guess I'm ok for anything- I know fully trained soilders who would run screaming from that place

ComeOVeneer · 12/02/2007 09:27

Morning all. Pleased you are up and about again Oxo (if a bit sore - sounds nasty). We are on day 1 of half term here, have sneaked of for 5 mins on the computer. Uwila, had a lovely time yesterday and DD is desperate for (your) dd to come over and play soon.

xoxo · 12/02/2007 09:28

sfx - I will cat you my mobile as I'll be around teh retail park until about 12 (when ds has to go to school) maybe meet up for coffee and adult chat?

sfxmum · 12/02/2007 09:49

ok otherwise you will be able to recognize me by my disheveled look, very '07
not sure how much grown up chat can happen with a 21m old repeating all that is said

MrsRecycle · 12/02/2007 10:04

Nice to meet you O2BeMe and chat to everyone on Saturday night (yes I was one of those that circulated ).

Oxo - glad to hear you are much better although a fractured skull sounds awful.

We were saying that the next meet up should be in Chiswick are there were a lot of us from Brentford/Acton. I've started another thread here

sfxmum · 12/02/2007 10:18

xoxo leaving soon still no cat but a few others have my number, i will look for you anyway just in case you are about at 11.30 or so

2Cute · 12/02/2007 10:34

Oh dear xoxo. Glad you're on the mend though.

I'm off to the Lollipop in an hour if anyone's still up for it.

Nanou/Quokka/Pud - I asked DS mummy's friends want to know what he'd like for his birthday and he said a real ferrari enzo. Obviously I explained that's not possible so he said "ok, I'll have a lamborghini instead"! I'm guessing that's about £10-£20k each.

Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2007 11:07

I've started a Feb Day Time & Half Term convo here

Where's MrsB when you need her - thought her BB was back on yesterday!!

OP posts:
suejonez · 12/02/2007 11:30

I have no idea where Lollipop club is so won;t be going and anyway D is out cold so stuck in for a while. Little treasure woke me up at 3am screaming, no obvious reason just think he doesn;t feel great and has got used to it over the past few days. So this morning he is tired and grizzly and so am I!

Will have to inflict ourselves on someone this afternoon... perhaps my mum or my sister so ou can all breathe easy

Paddlechick666 · 12/02/2007 11:42

hi sue

sorry you had a rough night. get your head down while ds has his down - totally the only way to deal with it!

lollipop is at the London Welsh ground on Kew Road. It's in the room to the left of the main bar and really very good if a bit full on when it's a grey day - like today!

would love to have you over this arvo but must do some work!

OP posts:
suejonez · 12/02/2007 11:45

no time to sleep Paddle have been downloading "openoffice" so that I can get on wih some work as I only have stupid free cut down version of Excel which is a nightmare!

Lollipop club sounds nice and close for me but what ages does it cater for - is it a bit full on for quite a small one yr old?

What times/days is it?

mellow2 · 12/02/2007 11:46

Oxo,
That's sounds painful. Glad you're feeling better.

2cute,
I've decided that dd is going to get single shots now on the basis of MMR convo Saturday. I am also one who trusts the maternal instinct more than any "govt propaganda" too.

Now I've got to find a clinic that I can afford.
