Wow! We filled a thread!

Hope you all find this new one!

Our evening was great, had a lovely time. kids were all very well behaved. dd sleeping in our bedroom is a nightmare tho - she's sooo noisy!

we need a 3rd bedroom

we're off for Sunday lunch at The Botanist later YUM!

2cute, we're scheduled to have skids that weekend but not confirmed yet. if we do, not sure if i could come and don't want to invite 2 extra kids and dh as that'd be rather cheeky! if we don't then we'll be there

it's far too early for a Sunday!

Yo!

mellow2 · 08/02/2007 15:11

PC,
Have you finished your teleconference? One day, you must tell me more about your work. It sounds fascinating to me

I've got project documents to finish. But you can see I'm procrastinating as I've been on Mn all pm.

Nanou1 · 08/02/2007 15:12

hi mellow! sorry to hear you are not joining us in little ealing then.... we'll be renting and the good news is that we can afford the prices (almost!) in the area close to the primary school little ealing. getting excited. the hammock is great by the way! you are part-time now right? what do you do? how is the website? have not been on it for a while. you better paddle?

uwila · 08/02/2007 15:12

Nanou, I thought of you this weekend when I tried to convince DD that dogs say "WOOF WOOF". And she kept saying, NO! ruff ruff (in mousey little english girl voice)

So there blows this French kids say ruff ruff theory.

Paddlechick666 · 08/02/2007 15:16

mellow, yep tele-conf over. i wouldn't want to bore you rigid with my ultra boring job believe me!

nanou, 'allo ma petite choux! sava? je suis BORED but guilty for not doing proper work !

procrastination city here eh mellow!

dd has started yapping when I ask her what a dog says - oh dear!

I can now join the group who can testify to the utter gorgeousness of Sue's DS. He has a beautiful smile and does that thing where he peeps out at you under his lashes and then bashfully buries his face in the nearest soft object (Sue, generally). He hasn't managed to catch the cats yet, though.

Nanou1 · 08/02/2007 15:24

oh no. here i was thinking i could chat with you guys but my boss is coming back ..... best get on with work... will try and catch up later. x

suejonez · 08/02/2007 16:32

Lemonaid - I took me hours to teach him that but he really does have it down pat now. He loves having visitors and pretends to be a real angel when they're here, but once they leave...

mellow2 · 08/02/2007 16:57

Nanou,
I work full-time until end of March. I'm doing 1/2 days at home atm. I haven't done much on my website since I started on this job. Dh hasn't had any time to build the site either as he's looking after dd and working full time from home on days that I'm at work.

Oh well, it won't be long now before I finish on this project.

I have to say I really don't get much done at home 'cos dd is so clingy these days (she's the right age for separation anxiety but I think it's also because I go to work 4 days a week). I'm glad no one at work knows my MN nickname.

foxabout2pop · 08/02/2007 18:24

Mellow that hammock looks amazing

Don't like the idea of an Ikea cot hanging from the ceiling though

Paddle - I was like that this morning - just couldn't concentrate

SFX - I think its really sweet your DH was upset. Have you "come on" yet then????

sfxmum · 08/02/2007 20:01

i think dh is not quite over the shock of dd's birth when she needed help breathing and was on SCBU for a little while, also we had 3 acquaintances with very traumatic pregnancies/ births. and no not yet but i think it will, pretty much the minute i shell out a fortune for a stick and pee on it.

hope everyone ok tonight

foxabout2pop · 09/02/2007 06:34

sfx - that must have been so awful and worrying for you both. Its no wonder he's apprehensive

Keeping my ovaries crossed for you on the other front!!!

uwila · 09/02/2007 13:25

Oh bugger! There's no heat in my house. Yet another perk to sitting at work all day.

Called British Gas and they can't show up until tomorrow. Idiots!

Paddlechick666 · 09/02/2007 13:49

just a quick suggestion, have you checked the pilot light hasn't gone out?

OP posts:
uwila · 09/02/2007 13:50

Yes, It has. DH doesn't know how to relight it.

Paddlechick666 · 09/02/2007 13:53

is it on the boiler? there should be a starter located relatively nearby to the pilot light itself.

suggest doing 'net search on boiler make/model and/or calling manufacturer for starter info

1 hour until the weekend. Can't wait!

I'm off to a disco at DD's school. Should be interesting -- I didn't know 3 year olds were old enough to go to discos. And I've promised DD that I'll show up on time. So I'm leaving work at 4:30.

trying2bgood · 09/02/2007 16:38

nanou - I wonder whether you will end up in the same road as the one my friend moved into? Am jealous as little ealing is such a lovely little school, but moving would be too costly and am used to acton now!

mellow - sorry to hear you are not moving and love the hammock it is so cute.

trying2bgood · 09/02/2007 16:39

nanou - are you going over to Quokka's tomorrow so we can then cab it to the dinner? If so, we could walk up together, let me know.

foxabout2pop · 09/02/2007 16:44

I went to physio today. I am now the pruod owner of both a low lying placenta and spd. She gave me some good advice and a girdle.

We had a strange moment when she squeezed my butt intyo tubigrip - a kind of huge bandage that fits between just below your bra and just beneath your bum. (like a long boob tube) She said "how do you feel?! I said, "like the Only Gay in the Village!"

Paddle - what's the date of the Maude walk event?

suejonez · 09/02/2007 19:51

May 12th Foxie. Is SPD some kind of sexually transmitted disease?!

Spent my first part day in work today whilst my mum had D. Left at 9.30 didn't get home until 4pm so almost a full day. He is not his usual happy self as he has developed terrible nappy rash since yesterday, I assume linked to his teething/mild diarheorraraoa (?). Poor mite woke up screaming at 1.30, most unlike him.

He has still gone down to sleep like a dream as always at night but I suspect that he will wake up when it gets sore again. I'm using metanium which does help but any other advice? HAve tired to leave him nappy-less as much as possible but a bit difficult in these chilly temperatures.

Definitely won't make tomorrow as my mum is out to dinner. I'll try to make the next one instead. Saturday isn;t great as its difficult to get my mum to babysit as she normally plays bridge that night. Anyone fancy sending a takeaway over to me - do Fatboys deliver?

sfxmum · 09/02/2007 20:11

Sue - sorry you can't come tomorrow we really must meet up at some point (nearby baby sitter and all that), no advice on nappy rash dd never had it sorry, but i gather leaving nappy off is very helpful and whenever she was slightly red i used Sudocreme otherwise nothing at all.

foxie - sorry about the SPD hopefully all gone soon, is it recurring?

am taking dd for her vaccine in the morning, i really hate that, even if she doesn't really cry, hope no side effects, at least not tomorrow night

Paddlechick666 · 09/02/2007 20:56

evening all

foxie, spd not nice. i had it mildly but hope your girdle helps.

sue, dd only gets nappy rash when she's teething. i find the usual creams during the day but at night i coat her in vaseline. it's a complete barrier so any overnight wee doesn't sting.

hope your day at work went okay.

don't think i'm on for tomorrow either. dh has gone silent and i'm utterly fed up.

btw, fat boys don't deliver otherwise i might be a fat girl!

ComeOVeneer · 09/02/2007 21:36

Sorry you can't make it tomorrow Sue, I was looking forward to meeting you. About the nappy rash. Try applying a lyer of egg white, it acts as a barrier between the skin and the wee. Another good tip is make up a strong solution of chammomile tea and use that on cotton wool rather than wipes to clean the area when changing the nappy. Metanium IME is the best cream. HTH.
