Right, since last night was so much fun, let's get to planning the next one. I've talked to Paddlechick and MrsRecycle and we thought that a big round table would be good, and also talked about Twickenham. So, does anyone know a restaurant (or foodie pub) in Twickers with big round tables?

Oh, and let's do a Friday or Saturday.

So, possible dates:
12(Fri) 13(Sat) 19(Fri) or 20(Sat) of Jan.

I can do any of these dates.

sfx - we still don't have a crime no. We've gone to the local press and it's going to look bad for the police - "family burlged whilst ds in GOSH and police don't turn up for 3 days".

MrsBigD · 16/01/2007 11:56

defo not looking good for the police if that runs, but then they might get their act together. I was lucky, police showed after a couple of hours. That was in Blackheath adn I was female alone in a house with broken back door so maybe got priority? Or maybe they just had a quiet stint?

2Cute · 16/01/2007 12:08

FFS can't believe the police are taking that long?! You must have the patience of a saint.

MrsRecycle · 16/01/2007 12:48

They turned up at 7.30pm last night with their tale between their legs apologising profusely and said that they were astonished as burglaries should take priority. Mind you dh calling the operator's mum a whore probably didn't help us - but he wanted a reaction so that they would come out. He spent all Friday night waiting for them and then had to keep it quiet from me when he turned up at the hospital as he knew it would have tipped me off the edge - bless him. When he told me with tears in his eyes on Sunday morning, I thought he was going to say he was having an affair and it was almost a relief to hear we'd been burgled .

uwila · 16/01/2007 20:51

Am laughing at the image of MrRecycle calling the operator's mum a whore. But, I can't quite picture the "tear in the eye" story.

foxabout2pop · 17/01/2007 08:31

Mrs Recycle, did they take much?

MrsRecycle · 17/01/2007 12:16

Not me Uwila - dh! And apparently it was a Policeman NOT the operator . He just wanted a reaction so they would come round to him. They took our whole CD/DVD collection and carried it away in an emptied black bag of clothes that were heading your way Uwila! They also took a lot of jewellery and silver and some electrical stuff.

foxabout2pop · 17/01/2007 12:27

MrsRecycle - if it was a policemen it was probably true then??

DS once phoned Twickenham police station and said "kiss my butt, eat my trousers"! I didn't know whether to be abboyed or proud of him

MrsRecycle · 17/01/2007 12:34

lol foxes - don't suppose ds is a Simpsons' fan by chance???

uwila · 17/01/2007 12:42

I said "MrRecycle" Presumably MrsRecylce is married to MrRecycle????

So, what electrical stuff did they take? I can offer you a mini telly (good for say au pair's room).

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 17/01/2007 13:31

Sorry Uwila - mind you not sure he'd like to be known as MrR!!

They only took electrical items they could carry so the TVs were okay. But thanks for the offer.

uwila · 17/01/2007 13:33

Ok, then what shall I call him on here?

OP posts:
MrsRecycle · 17/01/2007 13:41

Knowing him he'd say - Spursfan lol!

Ohhh exciting news, the photographer from the local paper is coming round on Friday to take out picture. Famous at last (locally that is!!).

foxabout2pop · 17/01/2007 13:58

MrsR - Impressed you recognise that from the Simpsons. When I told DS off for phoning the police and asked him if he really said that (the police had called me to tell me) he said "well, that's what Bart Simpson said to the police!

Well done you for contacting the press and getting them onto it!

You can keep the article and show it to your grandchildren - the day granny and grandad recycle were burgled.

Seriously though, serves the police right if they get shown up

foxabout2pop · 20/01/2007 08:34
