Right, since last night was so much fun, let's get to planning the next one. I've talked to Paddlechick and MrsRecycle and we thought that a big round table would be good, and also talked about Twickenham. So, does anyone know a restaurant (or foodie pub) in Twickers with big round tables?

Oh, and let's do a Friday or Saturday.

So, possible dates:
12(Fri) 13(Sat) 19(Fri) or 20(Sat) of Jan.

I can do any of these dates.

So, do you think someone should go tie some "welcome home Daniel" baloons on her front door before they get there? What about a quick shop of essentials like bread and milk?

Does anyone know when they actually get in?

Oh, I'm really sorry too Lemonaide. I meant to type that first!

Plane due to depart at noon I think. Can check flight times from Almaty to Heathrow....

sfxmum · 23/01/2007 13:08

that is a fantastic idea let me know if i can help guess she will not be that keen on seeing people but having some essentials be great

foxabout2pop · 23/01/2007 13:11

Flight time seems to be between 5-7 hours but can't find out what the time difference is.

Her family may be doing stuff too, particularly as her fridge was broken...?

Shall I call her Mum do you think and ask if there's anything we can do?

sfxmum · 23/01/2007 13:16

my guess would be at least 2hrs based on her last post
imagine family would want to be there

Nanou1 · 23/01/2007 13:35

hi guys! quick hello. would be nice if someone could do a welcome banner i agree and get some bits like a mini hamper. foxie; did you manage to speak to sue's mum? how is everyone? not having - yet another- good day at work . x

uwila · 23/01/2007 14:08

Yes yes yes... Call her mum! Time is of the essence.

uwila · 23/01/2007 14:09

Are you sure she is flying direct from Almaty to Heathrow. Time change is probably more like 4 hours... will go google it.

OP posts:
uwila · 23/01/2007 14:11

Almaty is GMT +6 hours. So, if she departed at noon, it was 6am here... so we've perhaps missed the boat.

If they are on Air Astana (the Kazakh airline) flight KC901 is scheduled to arrive Heathrow at 14:15, is currently expected at 13:10... So that probably puts them somewhere over Germany as I type.

Of course, that's assuming I guessed the flight right.

shame if we have...

Nanou1 · 23/01/2007 14:22

[hmmm]

foxabout2pop · 23/01/2007 14:30

I just rang Sue's Mum. She has just got home from doing the provisions shopping and they are leaving shortly to collect Sue from the airport.

She said Sue doesn't need any additional shopping and she doesn't know how tired they'll be when they eventually get back.

I said that if they need anything at all, to give me a call and we'll arrange it for them.

uwila · 23/01/2007 14:33

Can anyone go sneak some balloons onto her front door in the next hour or so. Just like two blue baloons tied to the door handle with a card that says Welcom home Daniel from the West London Mumsnet Crowd would be really cool and be a great keep sake.

OP posts:
Nanou1 · 23/01/2007 14:35

thanks foxie. omg, am tearful just to imagine how sue will be when she sees her family... and they her...

ComeOVeneer · 23/01/2007 14:37

It is crazy how emotional and excited I am for a woman I have never even met. It is daft what MN turns us into .

Paddlechick666 · 23/01/2007 14:38

god i find it actually quite surreal that they might actually be on British soil now!

wish i could help but going to view a nursery at 3pm then have an appointment at halfords to get car seat re-fitted.

bugger!

uwila · 23/01/2007 14:39

Nanou1 · 23/01/2007 14:58

sfxmum · 23/01/2007 15:15

guess i am nearer but cant leave the house dd again on blinking late nap just down on 3pm, quite frustrating on all fronts.

hope all is well apart from the inevitable exhaustion

uwila · 23/01/2007 15:20

Air Astana flight landed 15 minutes ago. YIPPEE!!!!!

It's a pity they will be bloody tired. I'd like to go play with Daniel.
