hello
think my shoppiing will mostly be online and at the retail park just like last year.

I like Kingston and we used to walk by the river from Richmond a lot in the summers before dd, it is a lovely longish walk with handy stops for refresments
Kingston has that fun learning shop which i think is great and i quite like John Lewis too

harktheheraldfoxessing · 26/11/2006 23:14

Its very quite on here today!

PC thanks for the update. How was the Science Museum?

Hi sfx and puds

harktheheraldfoxessing · 26/11/2006 23:27

Hi - desperate request time:

Does anyone have a floppy disk with a PC virus protector on? I have problems with my PC and need some more protection. Lemonaid very kindly posted some links, but I can't access them (as the pop up adverts I keep getting won't let me) so need to load one from a disc to eliminate the pop ups, before I access the websites where I can download some more. I think they cost about £50 to buy and its just not a good time of year to be spending £50 more

sfxmum · 27/11/2006 08:55

morning!
i am having some trouble with pop ups too but it seems to be just on this site i can't close them and they block a lot of the text.
i use firefox on my ancient laptop dh has been asked to sort it out but he has been too busy must corner him tonight

hope everyone ok, where is festive? hope you ok

MrsBojangles · 27/11/2006 11:28

Most of my christmas presents done just can't think of anything for dh

btw any of you know of kids into gaming? We've got a whole box of MageKnight Dungeon Role Play Table top sitting in a cupboard at home collecting dust see here

Might be another addiction bar Dr Who cards

lemonaid · 27/11/2006 11:32

Do you think it would be suitable for a 6-year-old, MrsB? I have a 6yo boy to buy for in the Soapbox Mumsnet Christmas Thingy...

lemonaid · 27/11/2006 11:35

sfxmum - DS says "Oh gosh!" from time to time and it cracks me up (particularly given that since I am probably the only person under the age of 60 to still use the phrase "Oh gosh" I know exactly where he's picked it up from)

MrsBojangles · 27/11/2006 11:56

lemonaide it really depends on whether he's into gaming DD (4.11) loves just playing with the figures without obviously understanding any of the intricate rules, and she pairs of the lady monsters with the man monsters as they need partners! tbh those rules are even beyond me, but then I'm more of a 'traditional' board gamer .

sfxmum · 27/11/2006 13:19

lemonaidthey are funny dd keeps saying 'oh dear' and 'i see' and 'sorry' this will please gran parents no end at christmas just have to say please more often and see if she picks it up she has a very charming thanks
this might even distract MIL from the fact that i am still bf, no outward comment but plenty of pursed lips, bless her.

lemonaid · 27/11/2006 13:47

DS says "please", or rather "peas", but isn't so hot on "thank you" -- he's dimly aware that he ought to be saying something under those circumstances, but tends to settle on "peas" again...

pudding77 · 27/11/2006 14:04

Hi foxie - dh doesn't have a copy he can lend out I'm afraid. Sorry about that.

Ds is babbling loads now but whenever I try to get him to say 'mamama' he just goes back to 'dadada'!

lemonaid · 27/11/2006 14:44

Does it need to be a floppy, or would a CD do?

DS said the name of MIL's dog long before he ever said Mummy (or even "mama" in a context-sensitive way).

Uwilalalalalala · 27/11/2006 15:11

I think she's looking for a floppy because you can boot from the floppy, but not CD/DVD.

Uwilalalalalala · 27/11/2006 15:12

Damn, just got busted on mumsnet. Bloody work! Who do they thing they are?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 27/11/2006 15:27

Lemonaid/Uwilalala - blimey - I have no idea - I could try either (looks completely helpless)?

Uwilalala - oooh poor you. What did they say when you got busted? How did they find out you were being naughty?

Uwilalalalalala · 27/11/2006 15:30

Nothing that dramatic, just someone came to talk to me about doing something I told him I wouldn't do because I was too busy and there was mumsnet up on the screen. Oops. He didn't say anything. Just hope no one ever thinks to check my internet log.

harktheheraldfoxessing · 27/11/2006 16:07

Me too

Sometimes I imagine I'm being watched. Someone in my last job got the sack for spending 4 hours one day sending personal e-mails. She was the Chief Exec's PA LOL

MrsBojangles · 27/11/2006 16:41

well you could always claim it's your 5 min break per hour that you are entitled to when working with VDU's ok not quite airtight as you're still staring at the vdu, but at least that way you're still at your desk instead of somewhere unobtainable having a fag or the like

Uwilalalalalala · 27/11/2006 16:52

VDU? What is this? Techy shop talk?

harktheheraldfoxessing · 27/11/2006 17:21

Queen Charlottes gave me blood tests for VDUs last week during my ante natal check up.

pudding77 · 27/11/2006 18:46

MrsB - are we still on for tomorrow?

Paddlechick666 · 27/11/2006 20:49
