(Nice Christmas name fennel - can't think of one for myself...}

Your dd3 was lovely. She didn't do anything all of my 3 haven't done more times than I care to remember. She's been angelic every other time I've met her, so I suppose it had to happen some time. Hope your day got better after that!

I always think my name is bad for good name change ideas but this is worse. Ponygirl would have been better, you could have been Reindeergirl.

day was bad really. does anyone else get really really sick of a good night out being ruined by being woken at 6 am or similar by rampaging children?

but decorating is finished. DP did most of it while I lay around whinging about being too tired to do it.

CarolSheetTurner · 06/12/2006 10:49

Oh you Exeter people are marvellous! I couldn't think of anything, was stuck on a Dickens/Christmas Carol loop - very depressing. Feel sprightly enough now (despite stinking cold) to do this:

I never thought of Reindeergirl, I was always ponybells at Christmas. Ah well, another opportunity missed. Not the first.

And yes: one of the important ingredients in a good night out is the quiet lie-in the following morning. Fortunately ours are old enough (and I am slack enough to have 'encouraged' them) not to disturb us early. Ds1 was trained at an early age to go straight downstairs and turn the telly on. Now he does it for the others . I should probably be over at Bad Mothers Club really...

Sorry I missed it - I missed the train and there wasn't another for an hour so I was horribly late, compounded by getting lost in Exeter between the station and South Street, and then I hadn't the faintest idea where the other place was anyway.... Had a nice drink in the bar but it was full of couples and it was way way past 8.30 by the time I got there so figured you'd all moved on unless I was in the wrong bar! I'm pretty good at getting lost, though, so tend to take it on the chin iyswim. But I brightened up my evening by by-passing enormous queues in Tesco (on way back to the station) by paying for my milk at their self-service check out - it was brilliant!! Had a big grin on my face all the way home and got a bit jumpy-up-and-downy when describing it to dh! How sad am I?!

Spicedfennelwine · 06/12/2006 11:04

oh that's a shame Cassoulet. next time we should CAT beforehand with mobile numbers so we don't lose anyone.

CarolSheetTurner · 06/12/2006 11:35

Oh cassoulet . I'm sorry we missed you. Next time! Glad you found something to sile about anyway!

CarolSheetTurner · 06/12/2006 11:35

Doh! smile !

Sorry I've missed this thread since the meet-up, this is the first time that I have checked it (dd has been completely sick with just about every symtom of a bug known to man since last weekend). Really enjoyed meeting everyone who came and putting faces to nicknames and would be up for a re-match in the new year. Have to go now a my Christmas tree is slowly being taken apart by my 2 year old...
