Here's the general chit-chat thread for October

Synopsis please on what I've missed last week! Too pre-occupied for various reasons to wade through all threads. Thanks

perhaps you could tell us the road and we'll go vet it for you (you can whisper it if its a secret)

spooxooky · 27/10/2006 16:49

unhallowed: spare booster seat going to nice home.
roll up, roll up, roll up.......

unhallowed · 27/10/2006 18:12

Hi spooky,

I've just CATed you.

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 27/10/2006 21:53

oxo, ta for the booster and the sarnie & coffee.

your two are fabulous, hope the guitar and dinosaur are still working their magic!

how was the nursery?

SJ, good to see you, if briefly. good luck for the next few weeks and see you when you get back with your LO!

pumpkinpud · 28/10/2006 09:38

Morning all! Got back late last night so first chance I've had to get back on mn!! does anyone fancy doing a roundup of the last week for me?? Pretty please

pumpkinpud · 28/10/2006 09:46

Just seen this so hope I'm not repeating:
butterfly house

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 28/10/2006 11:35

I think it's outrageous that they want to put a hotel there! the area is fine as it is

scarysuejonez · 28/10/2006 12:05

Why do they need a big four star hotel in Isleworth, seems very odd. There are enough at the airport aren't there?

unhallowed · 28/10/2006 14:10

Welcome back puds! I hope you had a nice holiday. Re Butterfly House, tt is ridiculous considering there's already a new Holiday Inn at Brentford Lock which is only 5 mins away.

pumpkinpud · 28/10/2006 18:46

It's ridiculous considering there are three hotels in Brentford!! But I am happy that the butterfly house will be open for another year & hopefully will find somewhere to move to!

Holiday was ok, weather wasn't great & we had to hire a car as we weren't really close to anything but it wasn't too bad!

scarysuejonez · 28/10/2006 22:17

Paddlechick - how was DD's birthday in the end? Did she enjoy herself?

2Cute · 29/10/2006 03:19

Phew...just finished packing. Had a manic few days, guests from overseas, friend's wedding etc so only started packing at around 12 and tidied the bomb site!

Just wanted to say a quick bye before I fall asleep for the little time I have left before my flight. Take care all

unhallowed · 29/10/2006 08:48

Spooky,

I've just emailed you with my number and suggestions of when to meet. Give me a bell when you've got a mo.

sfxmum · 29/10/2006 08:52

the concept of 'an extra hr' sleep is totally lost on toddlers

pudding - glad you had a nice holiday

butterfly house - complete disgrace!

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 29/10/2006 09:21

Hi - Moroccon sunshine calling

We are flying back tonight.

Sue, WTF are you still doing in England???????

scarysuejonez · 29/10/2006 09:47

Surprise Foxie!! I'm leaving on Tuesday.

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 29/10/2006 09:55

morning, whisper quietly lol!

dd's birthday party was fantastic thanks SJ. she had a ball, everything went really well.

if you don't count my nanny's boyfriend shorting out the electrics LOL.

i drank heaps but the hangover is surprisingly not too bad.

feeling a bit of post party blues now tho. no word from "you know who" doesn't help.........

Foxy, you lucky duck! hope you've had a fab time and the journey home is ok. will do a Torchwood update for you when you get back but am sure you're aware already.

2cute, have a fantastic trip.

welcome back Pud, must visit butterfly house soon.

ah well, more crumbs to tidy up..........

scarysuejonez · 29/10/2006 10:21

Glad she (and you) had a nice time, thats what matters despite no word from "you know who"

Sorry should have whispered that shouldnt I. Shocked at volumes of alcohol being consumed at 1 yr old birthday party

Boowila · 29/10/2006 17:01

Aw Fizi.... thinking of you. Let me know if you are in need of an after work chat some time this week. As of now I'm free every night. (that's pathetic)

pumpkinpud · 29/10/2006 17:08

Sue, glad you're finally going! Will you be able to update us while you're out there, do you think?

Fizi - happy belated birthday for dd. I'm guessing things aren't going too well otherwise

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 29/10/2006 20:41

lol @ SJ. is it not the done thing for most of the adults to be tipsy at a 1 year old's party?

house is still chaos even tho loads of people helped clear up!

thanks Boo, I'll keep you posted. My mother will be here Weds/Thurs. How was your night out on Friday?

dd is asleep, think i may join her after another bit of birthday cake!

pumpkinpud · 29/10/2006 21:15

birthday cake is yummy - you should definitely have some!!

scarysuejonez · 30/10/2006 00:10

We tend to stick to tea at childrens birthday parties in my family - what a dull lot we are!

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 30/10/2006 07:01

ah well, I wished it had been tea when dd woke up at 1:30am and I felt hungover!

actually i think my family are all borderline alchoholics to be honest.

ah well, the start of another week. probably fairly pedestrian for most of us.

NOT FOR SJ!!! The clock is ticking, the countdown has begun!

I'm so excited.

Boowila · 30/10/2006 09:15

Hi Fizi (and everyone else),

Night out on Friday was fun. So, does your mum being here mean you have to stay in or does it mean you have a free sitter to grab a drink and bite to eat with me on my way home from work?
