MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 24/10/2006 09:20

I thought I'd killed the thread again LOL

No news on job yet. Have emailed them again last night so all I can do is wait and see . In no mad panic yet. Haven't got the energy.

SJ are you gone yet?

lemonAIIEEE · 24/10/2006 14:41

SJ's still around (or she was in the middle of last night, anyway)

sfxmum · 24/10/2006 19:16

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 24/10/2006 21:36

ok everybody make a note to keep checking SJ's blog site mid November so we can find out everything about her lo so we can organise a babyshower

spooxooky · 24/10/2006 21:51

Babyshower sounds a fab idea.

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 24/10/2006 22:17

hi sfx,

was good to see you guys too. sorry to hear about the tantrum, terrible twos are early for you lol.

dd was asleep before we got to the car and ended up in heaps of traffic so she got a good nap in the end.

a coffee would be great next time, C&C was crazy wasn't it!

Great news about your imminent departure SJ. very exciting!

FiziWhiziLetsGetScary · 25/10/2006 11:06

morning all

god it's quiet on here at the mo!

Boowila, I've CATted you my mobile number re: tonight.

MrsBigD, job news? your night out with dh sounded lovely.

Am assuming SJs feverishly packing and of course FF is doing the Morrocan thing (lucky gal!). Pud's off doing sun and sangria so what's everyone else up to?

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2006 13:19

yes it's gone very quiet with the west london lot hasn't it!

I'm in the office and haven't got much to do so got my brother's wedding photo album done

No news on the job

spooxooky · 25/10/2006 14:35

not quiet - it's half term so I'm busy keeping the little monsters tired. Unfortunately I tire long before they do.

I'va also been applying for part time jobs (yikes!!!) . We need the dosh, and I have had 4 years of no work so about time I got off my ass.

I'm torn between part time & local so can juggle kids, for the next couple of years until they are in school proper. Or, proper job and hubby goes to reduced hours. He's already told work he is going back to 4 days a week to spend time with the kids (we did this for 3 and half years, and in hindsight should not have given it up).

Any pearls of wisdom from you working mums on juggling/ going full time??

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2006 14:48

in short: full-time work and kids = bloody hard work

Since I've gone back to local part-time I really really REALLY don't want to go back to 9-5 5 days a week in the west end or city anymore. But there are so few part-time jobs around

Good luck spooky, at least we're not exactly looking in the same neck of the woods...

spooxooky · 25/10/2006 14:52

I'm up for hard work, but whether full or part time, it woud have to local as I am NOT commuting. My soul would die if I had to get the 'drain' every day again. And all those stripey suits.... yuck!

Anyway I'm glad we're not in competition as I'd lose out every time to those cheekbones!! and the fcat that you can organise all of us with no bother at all....

MrsBeDreadingTrickOrTreat · 25/10/2006 14:54

I@m with you on 'don't mind hard work' but the commute

Hey I might be able to organise all the West London Mn lot however lately I'm having trouble organising myself!

unhallowed · 25/10/2006 15:43

I've been busy taking dd to play sessions and job hunting. We went to Amanda's Action Kids on Monday and dd loved it. Fizz, your dd might really enjoy it. It's music (mostly nursery rhymes to a pop beat) and toys.

Then today we went to Crechendo for a free trial session. I wasn't very impressed. It seems to be a souped up version of Lollipop/Hugo. Quite pricey though! They charge £119 for 12 sessions .

unhallowed · 25/10/2006 15:45

MrsB,

How did you like the circus? I've always wanted to go but never had the chance. Did they have Shaolin martial arts performances?

Boowila · 25/10/2006 15:56

My working mums advice is to stay away from mumsnet. Hope they never feel inclined to check my internet log.

Where is the balance? It isn't. Women get shafted on this working mums deal. But then they get shafted on the SAHM thing too. I just work work work and think about the day they go to school full time. Oh, and get drunk with my MN buddies every now and then to restore sanity.

sfxmum · 25/10/2006 16:11

once you become a mum your choices get really hard, i think most of us end up being over qualified for most of the jobs available.
this is still a world when part time or flexi time means doing all and more of a fulltime job on a less time.

hunallowed that sounds good. think will take dd to richmond library tomorrow she likes it there. they do some nursery rhymes sing along once in a while too.

have zero energy today

sfxmum · 25/10/2006 16:12

yes and can't spell or use any proper grammar
off to get some warming hot chocolate
