A few degenerates seem to have the idea that some of us would for some reason once again want to get together for some drink and inane chatter somewhere in London sometime around Christmas.....

So with that in mind the date of 29 November is being paddled around.

Funny you should mention that what That was one of the things the manager mentioned.

There are plenty of places I know that you could go for an alcoholic drink or a coffee at early evening. There are also places nearby that he'd know and could tell me for the night.

I suppose that's what makes him good at his job. I used to be a barmaid sometime in the last century. I really didn't have much patience with drunk people who wanted to extend their evening like I do now.

Which is why I really wasn't cut out for the hospitality industry as a long-term career option.

There's The Marquis of Westminster which is 60 seconds staggering distance across two quite busy junctions, so wait for the lights.

I find the food a bit shit and the staff truculent even by my standards of barmaiding, but it would be okay for drinks. They're open all day until midnight. Outside space on a busy main road. Other pubs are available.

what as a local, I'd say the Prince of Wales is a bit shit. But it might do for later drinks as it is directly across the road from About Thyme.

It is a major road and bus route though, so follow the Green Cross Code.

I think sullying it sounds like a damn good idea - so we could start in a ladylike fashion (not me tho') in About Thyme and meander from one pub to another until we find a good 'un. Then we can watch while Limited flonces haven't seen floncing before.

Hi Limited, I am a definite for lunch/sherry tasting/ degenerate behaviour at a suitable time of course - usually 3 wines or 5 gins :) I can also start later if that is the majority , will need to closely examine google maps, I go through Victoria daily and have not a scooby as to where we the place is may require a recon aka pre meet up practise - purely scientific of course, just to make sure I remember how to "sherry taste" ;)
