Oxo - a woman after my own heart

Before we moved last year, our old place was on the market for 12 months, which meant I had to tidy up EVERY morning for potential viewings. I think now I'm still rebelling and revelling in the fact hat I can be a house-slut and it doesn't really matter. Except if someone pops around unexpectedly of course, then I have to stammer "oooh, I'd invite you in, but I'm soooo busy at the moment!"

MrsBigD · 14/09/2006 18:56

dishwasher? what's a dishwasher LOL

oh and should read 'hide handcuffs and other paraphanelia'

xoxoxo · 14/09/2006 19:47

mmmmmmmmmmmm mrsbd: my husband is a policeman. To what, excatly, do you refer????

Paddlechick666 · 14/09/2006 21:13

well! i can most certainly vouch for Oxo's recommendation.

I called the number and head honcho came around Tuesday at 6pm.

Kasia arrived at 11am this morning and did 4 hours @ £8 per hour. The house is utterly GORGEOUS and I LOVE HER!

actually my Mum was here and gave me a full report on how hard Kasia worked. she didn't even stop for a drink by all accounts.

slight language barrier as Kasia's English is about the same level as my mother's Polish but i can always call head honcho for translations if necessary.

THANK YOU OXO! I OWE YOU A DRINK!

pc666

ps: what's Waitrose then?

xoxoxo · 14/09/2006 21:17

super - will collect tomorrow!!
Isn't it wonderful having a clean house!!!

Paddlechick666 · 14/09/2006 21:34

it certainly is, mum said she even did the venetian blinds and emptied the toaster!

suejoneziscalmernow · 14/09/2006 23:22

re handcuffs...

I have a big steel spiky Conran bed (from an earlier wealthier life) and when the removal men moved me from Isleworth to Sheen, they moved the bed away from the wall, and attached to two of the spiky struts (previously hiden between the mattress and the wall) were two pink fluffy handcuffs.

Oops.

And I was there when it happened - they just turned round and looked at me. All I could think of to say was...

"I wondered where they'd got to"

2Cute · 14/09/2006 23:28

SJ - nah?! Here I was thinking how lovely and civilised you all sound

2Cute · 14/09/2006 23:32

PC666 - me jealous

BigD - know what you mean about too much stuff, believe you me, I could give Toysrus a run for their money with the amount of toys in our house. I could swear toys breed! lol

Really disappointed about this but I'm going to have to pull out of the big bash tomorrow. Dropped DH off at Heathrow (think I mentioned it b4, he's gone to Germany for the hockey world cup finals). DS keeps saying "mummy no leave me aswell". I had to stay cuddling him until he fell asleep because everytime I got up to creep out ("please mummy no leave me").He finally went to the land of nod at 10:30! phew! I'd feel too guilty leaving him like this and you'd think "God almighty, she's a bundle of laughs!" Was really looking forward to meeting you all but it'll have to wait until the 29th. Have a great time tomorrow, some1 take notes so I can catch up!

MrsBigD · 15/09/2006 07:52

2Cute isn't it just heart breaking when they do things like that?

No worries, I'll write a memo for you after the meeting LOL

Uwila · 15/09/2006 12:27

Pink cufflinks? Weren't they hancuffs? I'm sorry, but I don't think I really want to know. Can you guys start and finish this conversation before I arrive?

Yes, BigD, I dare say this is a fine photo op. Just don't drink too much or they might come out a tad blurry.

fatfox · 15/09/2006 12:49

Nanou will pick you up with Oxo then

I have:

Yanks and MrsBigD - Lion Gate/Pagoda bus stop, Kew Rd

Oxo, PC666 and Nanou - Cinema opposite Pizza Express in Red Lion Street - I will stop on the corner where the bus station is, so make yourselves visible to that corner please

Foxy Cars Ltd

Nanou1 · 15/09/2006 12:55

i'll be the one with the leopard tights and red bag

MrsBigD · 15/09/2006 13:40

klassy !

I'll be the one with the big bag

OP posts:
suejoneziscalmernow · 15/09/2006 14:45

I won't be there, so no discussion of the pink cufflinks (sounds so much better than handcuffs). The weak of stomach are spared discussion of the weak of morals...

Uwila · 15/09/2006 14:57

Despite her good itentions, Nanou will probably be the one with NO bag.

But, handcuffs and cufflinks are two very different things. Not sure which concerns me more. What would your HV say?!?!?!

MrsBigD · 15/09/2006 14:59

weak of morals? oh c'mon... only because they were attached to your bed doesn't mean anything ... or is it guilty by implication

OP posts:
Uwila · 15/09/2006 15:07

If it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck....

it's probably a duck.

GUILTY INDEED!

YanksUponThames · 15/09/2006 17:56

Yanks sez:
PAGODA AVENUE bus stop on KEW ROAD
which is the next one after Lion Gate.
and right next to the cricket/rugger sports ground.

See you there fatfox & MrsBigD!

I don't have any handcuffs OR cufflinks at the moment, regardless of color....

Or leopard-print tights or anything for that matter, more's the pity...
Ah well.
But am definitely up for Thai food...

ComeOVeneer · 15/09/2006 17:58

Have a fabulous evening everyone, will be thinking of you as I crawl down the M25 Hampshire bound. At least I have a weekend childfree to look forward to . Hope to make a meet up very soon.
