MrsBigD- thanks for including us.

Oxo- my son is particularly tactile when eating- on purpose no doubt.. I even look grubby in black these days. I find if I wear 'patterns' the sticky finger marks and smears show up less..spot me in a cunningly non plain outfit.

MrsBigD · 14/09/2006 09:58

BigKat it's called Camouflage Gear

BigKat · 14/09/2006 10:11

MBD -you're right- I' ll be camouflaged to blend in with the surrounding clean tidy people

fatfox · 14/09/2006 11:22

PC666 - me too re. the expanding clothes for dinner tomorrow night!

fatfox · 14/09/2006 11:25

Nanou Hi

I need to know if I'm collecting you from Kew Station at 6.50pm, or the 65 bus stop near Lion Gate/Pagoda at 7pm tomorrow. I don't want to be waiting by Kew station, then find you've gone down to the bus stop.

Also, a mobile number in case of any hitches.

Cheers

fatfox · 14/09/2006 11:27

So far I have:

Nanou (Kew Station 6.50pm) - or is it bus stop 7pm??

MrsBigD/Yanks (65 nus stop, twixt Lion Gate and Pagoda Ave) 7pm

Oxo/PC666 (Cinema opposite Pizza Express in Richmond) 7.10pm

MrsBigD · 14/09/2006 11:34

I'll be a the nus stop, twixt Lion Gate hopefully interpreting that correctly as 1 stop after Lions Gate

oh and table confirmed for 10 people. Am allowing for last minute drop outs to allow space for 'floaters' and if everybody shows, what the heck... we just squeeze some extra chairs in somehow

Clean? You want my clothes to be CLEAN? Well I never...

Can't wait to meet you BigKat. (and all the other first timers)

fatfox · 14/09/2006 12:51

Ou est la Nanou?

(apologies for spelling mistakes)

xoxoxo · 14/09/2006 12:59

pc666: you are in for a treat. Monday is my favourite day; I take kids out to park/ lollipop club/ shopping and return home to clean and tidy house with ironing all done and put away.

The number of times I've had to double check it is our house..

A sad, bourgeois delight but I love it.

Until it's trashed within hours by the kids anyway.

MrsBigD · 14/09/2006 13:40

elle n'est pas ici that's about all I remember. Alledgedly she has to concentrate at work! ha!

fatfox · 14/09/2006 14:16

Oxo/PC666, how may hours do you employ your cleaner for each week?

Am I the only one on this thread without a cleaner?

ggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

xoxoxo · 14/09/2006 14:26

fatfox: are you MAD?
you work, have 2 kids and are preggers. When do you get time for cleaning, ironing, hoovering etc? Weekends are for living!!
Seriously I do not know how you do it.

Anya, my cleaner comes for 3 hrs a week, 4 if I have a lot of ironing say before or after a holiday or something, and it costs £24.
If I was down to my last £24 I would still do it and go without cake. Marie Antoinette almost had it right!

suejoneziscalmernow · 14/09/2006 14:29

I agree oxo - I kept my cleaner when I was unemployed . Do you want to try her while I'm away FF? I could ask her if she's happy to "do" you though she might be glad of a break as she haas young childrne herself.

xoxoxo · 14/09/2006 14:32

or I'll give you the name of the company I use.

In my many years of using cleaners I have 'sacked' 4, ran away from 2 and moved to avoid sacking another. Thoroughly recmd a company as they 'sack' for you, or personal recmndn from long time happy customer.

fatfox · 14/09/2006 14:36

Oxo - you haven't seen our house have you?

hhmmm, very tempted.....
Sue, shall I talk with you tomorrow about your cleaner? The financial layout might mean me shopping in Tesco rather than Waitrose though, that the prob'

I have to admit that on my first day in this job, my lovelywoman boss (3 kids) said to me: "if there's one thing I recomend; it is that if you work and have kids, you MUST get a cleaner" Said it changed her life

suejoneziscalmernow · 14/09/2006 15:08

Yes fox, the bad news is that I gave up Waitrose for tesco or asda some years ago (except for organic chicken which for some strange reason always taste so much better from Waitrose).

OK we can talk about it tomorrow...

2Cute · 14/09/2006 15:18

Very interested in this cleaner talk...I can't remember if there's actually a floor under all the clothes in our "spare" bedroom. Don't know how you working mums do it. I just get enough time to breathe and I'm a SAHM

Oxo, can I pinch your cleaner's number 2morrow please? Had 4 different cleaners, didn't have the heart to say "my house looked cleaner b4 you started and it doesn't take 2 hours JUST to do the bathroom) so they just think I take very long holidays!

Nanou1 · 14/09/2006 16:32

hi guys! sorry - it's really been made today. my mobile no is 07903 744601. fatfox sorry dont know where i'll be yet. might be easier if as meet up with oxoxoxo at the richmond cinema but... where is it? sorry can't stop. looking forward to tomorrow night. x

Nanou1 · 14/09/2006 16:33

i meant MAD !

fatfox · 14/09/2006 17:09

Nanou - sorry you're having such a hectic day. poor thing

Why don't you call me when you're on your way tomorrow? (07779-289-041) I need about 10 minutes notice, so you can tell me where you are and let me know whether its Kew station or the bus stop. TBH, it'll be much easier for you if I meet you at Kew the station, as the Lion Gate 65 stop is quite a way away from there

MrsBigD · 14/09/2006 17:45

hmmmm a cleaner. I suspect any cleaner coming into our house would probably run away! We've got too much stuff for too small a space

OP posts:
fatfox · 14/09/2006 18:33

MrsBigD - I'm a bit worried I may have to "tidy p" efore a cleaner comes round. I've heard the phrase "to tidy up" but no one has ever explained clearly to me what it means.

xoxoxo · 14/09/2006 18:44

have looked up phrase 'to tidy up'. It emans 'shove stuff under sofa/ pillows/ in cupboards'. and 'feign shock when found out'.

I do have a teeny tiny tidy up before cleaner comes round. Just the basics - put nappies in bin, plates in dishwasher etc. Hide handcuffs.
