I've made lots of bus trips to (and, a bit, around) Kingston, MrsBigD's ideas make sense to me. I now live near the 65 bus's Pagoda Avenue stop on Kew Road, so I'll just get on it and ride it all the way to the end at the main Cromwell Rd bus station in Kingston.

The restaurant is probably just a 10-20 min walk from there (unless encumbered by shopping, children, pg, etc...); dunno how grotty that walk would be on a Friday night. Prob not too bad, but
Looks like the 85, 57, and 213 buses stop right there, nearly.

The 371 bus 'Audric Close' stop looks close by, too, but I've usually avoided that bus since it takes forEVER to get anywhere on its twistiest-possible route...

Nanou1 · 13/09/2006 11:09

Yanks - why don't you come in my car with us ?

what's wrong with my car, eh?

xoxoxo · 13/09/2006 11:25

yeah, join us on the foxy taxi ride!!!
we will sing songs (the back of the bus is in the huffs etc...) and cry out 'are we there yet' many, many times. And generally act like a 3 and 6 yr old so FF can feel right at home.
hee hee

Nanou1 · 13/09/2006 11:28

MrsBigD · 13/09/2006 11:39

fatfox · 13/09/2006 11:46

Do you understand me?

fatfox · 13/09/2006 11:50

Oxo/PC - where am I picking you up from again? remind me s'il vous plais?

Nanou1 · 13/09/2006 12:26

WHATEVER !!!!! dd's response to me to a similar sentence...(she is just 2!)

MrsBigD · 13/09/2006 12:42

Nanou dd does that too, and I get the 'talk to the hand' motion as well LOL

OP posts:
Nanou1 · 13/09/2006 12:53

PMSL MrsBigD ... our DDs must NOT meet!!!! PMSL

Nanou1 · 13/09/2006 12:57

MrsBigD. have been thinking about logistics and it is much easier for me to meet at kew station. you still taking the bus? will probably go straight from work.

fatfox · 13/09/2006 13:28

Nanou/MrsBigD - DD (3) also does a great impression of Catherine Tate - and she has never even seen Catherine Tate (so she must get it from me - !)

MrsBigD · 13/09/2006 13:31

who's Catharina Tate?

Still catching the bus, but not worried whether hanging out on curb past Kew or at Kew Station, it's a 10 min walk from Victoria Gate right?

OP posts:
fatfox · 13/09/2006 13:36

MrsBigD - I'd do the bus stop if I were you. Otherwise its going to get really confusing. (Station has two exits etc; finding both you and Nanou etc)

Apart from that, you need to conserve your energy for gossiping

YanksUponThames · 13/09/2006 13:37

Sorry about cluttering up the general west london thread with this stuff....

Oh. (hi Nanou!) If you're using Tube stations, the Richmond station actually drops you off on the main road/high street/65 bus route, whereas the Kew station is offset from Kew Rd. a long block away. Going straight across to Kew Rd. from the Tube station brings you to the Victoria Gate (and 65 bus stop) of the Gardens. The Pagoda Ave. bus stop is about 3-4 stops further on (heading south). Maybe a 10-15 minute walk?

Depending on which Tube station you're closest to, you might have the least walking if you got on the 65 bus at Ealing B'way.

OR, we could all gather at the Victoria Gate bus stop instead!... No car park there, but there is a stoplight. Maybe that's the best compromise?

fatfox · 13/09/2006 13:37

Catherine Tate is the one who says "Am I bovvered? - Do I look bovvered?"

Bovvered?
