We can do Mon/Tue/Wed: That's me, ds1 (9) and ds2 (7), possibly dh. Flexible about location.

Any takers? Suggestions for venues?

Thanks - I'll bring trunks, towels, and flipflops then; as mine are capable of getting drenched from head to toe whilst 'paddling'!

Lake District in August far too expensive or booked out solidly for us!
So sorry Cumbrian gang, will have to give it a miss. (Fellfoot sounds lovely though, and did you know there is a 'bat hunt' on on Thursday evening? )

Roisin, dh was just saying last time we were there there were signs up about poisonous algae in the water or something!

The weather looks set fair-ish.
We will be there 10-ish, if I ever finish the packing today. (We're going away Fri am).
Sorry you can't make it Gingerbear - is everyone else coming? Dh wants to come - hope that's OK with everyone.
I think he's very suspicious of you GDG since all this media furore and you having a post deleted and everything

Right, am in an internet cafe in Bowness (at Gski's direction). Ive arranged to drop dh and ds in bowness to do boy stuff so dd and I will be coming. We came back via Newby Bridge today so at least I know where Im going - am happy to follow/be followed by gski & ff. DD and I wont be able to stay all day though as we're going home tomorrow so will peel off after a couple of hours. Am very much looking forward to discussing the week's events ;)

I want to come but my miserable boys won't come with me - may try bribery!

DD2 would have loved to come (mostly to see FF's DS2 again, she lurves him) but couldn't get time off work.

(Janh btw)

Mine are 5.5, 3.9 and 23 months - all boys.

Looking forward to it!

starting to worry now!

Don't worry Nikkie - you'll be fine.
Dh is coming with me to fight off any hairy truckers: but I've met quite a few of them before so can vouch for most of them.
See you tomorrow!
(Roisin btw)

Janh - wishing you success with the bribery!

DS2 successfully bribed with promise of Pizza Hut on way home - will try big ones too but may just leave them here.

No idea what time we'll arrive, but we will!

Hooray!
Fantastic news btw - we occasionally bribe the boys with PH: Delighted to hear it will still be working in 6 yrs time

Thanks all for a lovely day! Great that Jan made it! Lovely to meet Fairyfly (not at all as I imagined), Giraffski and Nikkie for the first time. Giraffski's dd is gorgeous (well, according to Jools she looks like I did at 3 so...).

Thanks again, really enjoyed it! Next year I'm hoping I can relax a bit more rather than chasing ds3 away from the edge of the lake!!

We had a great time too. Brillian to see everyone - again or for the first time.
I'm feeling very tired now - it's all that fresh air - and not at all in the mood to finish the packing for the holiday.

I still can't believe my boys had no tears or bloodshed, especially with those big sticks! Your boys must definitely have been a civilising influence Fairfly!

GDG's boys are gorgeous, especially ds3 - for 20 minutes at a time anyway

Wonderful to meet Nikkie at long last as well ... ds2 was very taken with your dd1! I think she must have listened very attentively to him prattling on!
