We can do Mon/Tue/Wed: That's me, ds1 (9) and ds2 (7), possibly dh. Flexible about location.

Any takers? Suggestions for venues?

We are at the dentist at 10.15 but it never takes long as dd2 doesn't sit in the chair, will be there by 11.30.Also need to be back to Barrow by 4pm
Will have to check if I can borrow the car but Thurs should be easier than WEds

hey gobble - is there anything there for dh to do as I dont want him hanging around

Gobbledigook · 06/08/2006 23:20

LOL! He could drive just a bit further down the road and along to a lovely pub at Newby Bridge called 'The Swan' - tis lovely, tell him to get a book and go and read it there!

WorldFamousAuthor · 06/08/2006 23:20

not really jampots its quite a small place - he could drive into Ulverston for a potter - is he into pottering

Gobbledigook · 06/08/2006 23:22

Or he could pop to Cartmel which is closer and absolutely gorgeous. A tiny little village with a couple of nice pubs and the Village Shop that does the world famous sticky toffee pud.

In fact, I'd go there if I was him. THere are a few cute little shops to potter round.

jampots · 06/08/2006 23:22

ah ok that sounds excellent. will have to possibly buy "Land Rover Monthly" or something and surprise him with it about 10.30 on Thursday morning. He will probably be late picking me up as he'll be too busy reading the small ads

WorldFamousAuthor · 06/08/2006 23:23

is he any good at shearing sheep?

roisin · 06/08/2006 23:24

As you come down the path, gone past the play area, to the right is a huge lawned area with the lake stretched out in front. We will set up on that 'field'."

jampots · 06/08/2006 23:30

are there picnic benches or do we have to sit on the ground. I am a townie after all ;)

Gobbledigook · 06/08/2006 23:30

Hehehe, lol at my 'twisty turny' instructions!

roisin · 06/08/2006 23:32

I think there may be some picnic benches, but you'll have to get there at the crack of dawn to bag one
