We can do Mon/Tue/Wed: That's me, ds1 (9) and ds2 (7), possibly dh. Flexible about location.

Any takers? Suggestions for venues?

Yup! She arrived about 10 mins after you left - once I'd phoned her to say the coast was clear

She was actually very disappointed to have missed you - she got stuck in traffic in Windermere ... not quite sure how she ended up in Windermere, but there you go!

My kids had a great time
DD1 said she is meeting your DS2 Roisin soon so she can show him her owl book
DD2 liked her new friend littleGiraffeski and the little boy (GDGs Ds1?)

It was nice to put faces to the names but can't remember anyones real ones

DS2 apparently has intentions of getting us all up in the middle of the night next week on holiday to look for them

jampots, I'm so sorry to have missed you - we were late setting off and I always get lost in the Lakes, mostly because I think I know the way so I don't look at a map - hence ending up in Windermere, still not sure how I managed it, and getting to Fell Foot about 40 mins after I should have....as Jools said I must get satnav soon!

Anyway it was lovely to see all the rest of you - we particularly enjoyed Barker's high-pitched contribution!

Lovely to meet you all, i had a very calm time, it was nice to sit on ones arse for the afternoon.
Lovely to see Janh and her boys again and have a little nosey at the young ggglimpopo.
Gobbledygook and Joolstoo and boys were a really sweet family.
Nikkie sorry i didn't get to speak to you much i was trying to hard to repel Hypothermia at that time.
Roisin and hub, i found out the mystery of the water, it was given to Wedgiesmums boy, at least it was someone we were with!
Oh and thankyou Girrafeski for delivering us to fellfoot x

Ah yes DS getting smaller boys to do his bidding, it is his authoritative tone (not sure where it is from!!!)....he had sent a (and I quote) squire to go and get it for him he said.

Lovely to meet you all/see you all again! Sorry was very rude and spent day with my nonMN friend who came too without chatting much to anyone else. It was such a treat to get time off from DS without him killing someone/moaning/endangering life and limb on some exploit/monologuing about his latest obsession that the luxury of talking to someone uninterrupted rather went to my head! He had a fab time with all the boys though and was remarkably tolerant of everything - a minor miracle atm!

But I do have an ENORMOUS bruise on my backside for some reason

Anteater! Sorry we forgot you
You could have done an electronics workshop for ds2. He keeps soldering kits together, but none of them work. He tinkers away with them for a bit, but doesn't seem particularly bothered that they don't work!
I think he'd be perfectly happy just melting bits of solder onto any old bit of circuit board tbh!

Of course we are absolutely hopeless to assist in any way.

He's bought some simpler kits with his birthday money and we'll try these next.

Oh Jampots what are you like???? Sorry didn't see this earlier but just thinking about it again made me pee my pants!!! (Not around much these days as life is getting very complicated). Rest assured I bear no ill will or anything like that, it just made me really laugh! Hope you didn't feel bad for too long

BIG KISS

OK I've found a venue for next summer!

We went last night, and it was lovely: I think it would suit all ages. We had 6-18 yr-olds with us, and they all had a great time; and the adults too. Lakeland Maize Maze . There's a maze (obviously), but also trampolines, slide, ride-on tractors, picnic areas, shop, pedal go-karts (£1 per go), loads of animals (pigs, sheep, alpacas, etc.) It's at Sedgwick, which is very near Kendal; but at the roundabout where Ursula goes wrong you take a different turn!

Costs £4.50 for adults, £3.50 for children, and U3s free. £15 for family ticket. Discount for groups of 20+

We had a group booking, and used their gas barbecue and cooked our own food: It all worked really well.

There's also a campsite (fairly basic I think), if anyone fancies staying overnight!

What do you think?!
