bows in awe to xoxoxoxo for admitting to owning a kagool

Paddlechick666 · 25/08/2006 10:15

well, it does sound as tho we have come home!

My Name Is PaddleChick666 and I own a Cagool

My DH is a recovering train spotter and currently un-employed accountant altho he's a semi-pro gambler too!

In his defence he's also a 6'5" rugby lock, rather chuffed to be so close to Twickers.

he's the anorak and i'm the techie for sure.

ps: he claims all these trains etc are collectors items (along with his stamps). Show me the money I say!!

Paddlechick666 · 25/08/2006 10:17

I've just re-read my last post and am beginning to wonder what I have married!!!

a stamp collecting, ex-train spotter accountant????

oh lord, is the honeymoon period over?

lol

xoxoxo · 25/08/2006 10:22

god, it feels good to come out of the closet.

If I can come to the dinner next week I will wear my kagool - loud and proud!!

MrsBigD · 25/08/2006 11:16

ROFL... our dh's defo have to meet!!! Collectors Items indeed!!! Boys toys more like

or in our case 'it's for the kids'

OP posts:
MrsBigD · 25/08/2006 13:06

hmmmm it's gone quiet on here!

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 25/08/2006 13:15

ah well, DD has just gone down for her nap so we've called a halt to the madness and i'm checking my ebay items.

as for our DHs and their collectors items yes the kids excuse has been used here too.

apparently my s-sons love the trains and play with them heaps..........

i'd just like to point out that in our nearly 3 year long relationship I've seen these trains twice - when we've moved each time!

even my mil got involved when she said DD would like the trains one day!

FFS!

;-)

MrsBigD · 25/08/2006 13:35

LOL oh dd and ds LOVE the trains and the scalectrix except for dh hardly ever sets it up. Saying that one train track gets set up every xmas to go around the xmas tree

OP posts:
Paddlechick666 · 25/08/2006 13:48

ooh that's a good idea actually.

maybe i'll let him keep one train set!

xoxoxo · 25/08/2006 16:56

can i ask a question?
what's the dif btwn this thread and the stats thread?

I have been having fun today on the 'fanny' thread. Educational, graphic and romantic all at once!

xoxoxo

Uwila · 25/08/2006 18:28

The stats thread was SUPPOSED to be a concise version where we could quickly reference who's who and such. But then a bunch of delinquents went and started chatting and messed it all up. Hoodlems! But, then MrsBigD jumped in and saved the day with her summary posts .

Now, what the heck is a a kagool?

xoxoxo · 25/08/2006 18:40

it's a really sexy, trendy waterproof covering. beloved of train spotters and geeks in general (oh, sorry should that be techs??)

Mine is the ultimate - mac in a sac: it's even small enough to fit in a handbag. Wow - is there anything better?

don't pretend you don't know. You are amongst friends here - come on, open the closet door and shout it out...............

suejonez · 25/08/2006 18:40

It's a ... well a kind of a ... well a kagool really.

plasticky sort of thing which folds into a bag. Often in bright blue with hood pull over your head.

Clearer now?

suejonez · 25/08/2006 18:41

she's american, she doesn;t understand things like kagools

suejonez · 25/08/2006 18:42

technically I don't think a mac in a sac is a kagool - they don;t have an opening up the front, you have to pull them on over your head

fatfox · 25/08/2006 19:18

They're only sexy when you wear them with nothing else

Paddlechick666 · 25/08/2006 20:20

i think the peek-a-boo cag with red and black lacy trim is quite sexy..............

sfxmum · 25/08/2006 20:47

a strange thing is happenig to me, i go about town and see mothers with children and think whether its one of you
oh that looks like what i imagine so and so to look like
i really must stop this people will think i am a crazy stare at all person
hope you all ok, now back to my glass of wine

suejonez · 25/08/2006 20:55

not me - haven't had anyone odd staring at me lately

suejonez · 25/08/2006 20:55

apart from that hairy man on the tube with the nervous laugh - that wan;t you was it? [suspicious emoticon]

MrsBigD · 25/08/2006 21:03

kagool

OP posts:
sfxmum · 25/08/2006 21:03

saw someone today on the R68 with a lovely little boy (i think) who looked very mumsnet like

not bearded yet but who knows what hormones will do in old age

mrsBig - just replied sorry for delay

bumpmakestwo · 25/08/2006 21:07

Feel left out....haven't got a kagool. But ironically the other day I was thinking I should buy a mac. Is it a Mum thing? Must be, never thought of owning one before Bump came along!

MrsBigD · 25/08/2006 21:09

It wasn't me staring at you... was too busy staring into a lovely glass of white vino whilst at my friend's place trying to drown out 2 4 year olds declaring 'you're not my friend anymore'...

OP posts:
sfxmum · 25/08/2006 21:25

bless them 4yrs olds a joy to come

mine disrupted story time at library today got bored at uninspiring read and demaded to be read something else - all while mostly crawling about, got to admire the girl

intrigued by this kagool talk must scroll down. i have a waterproof thing i wear to run but does not have a hood

funny i was looking at macs today fine line between elegance and OAP, am sure to cross that one anyway

someone mentioned i village i have had a look but often just get lost, also i use linux and the pages seem to go al funny not sure if that is the reason
