died on holiday without warning last night. Possibly heart attack, aged 40. They're in POrtugal with their 2 dd's, her parents have just arrived to be with her I beleive.

quokka · 10/08/2006 13:00

that would be great mrsbigd.

Uwila · 10/08/2006 13:44

OMG about yorkiegirl. I missed that too.

Ok, I will stop moaning about my root canal.

On alighter subject, is anyone planning to go to the xmas meetup? I need some familiar faces to join me!

suejonez · 10/08/2006 13:47

Don't know my situation at that time yet so will have to hold off until closer the time. How was the dentist Uwila?

Uwila · 10/08/2006 15:11

It was okay. Not as painful as I had feared. I am now pondering whether I want to spend £150 for an NHS metal crown or £300 for a private precios metal covered by porcelain crown. I'm leaning towards private.

CountessDracula · 10/08/2006 15:12

defo private

nhs crowns not good (I believe)

Uwila · 10/08/2006 15:40

I know I know... but £300 (ouch). However yes I think I'll take the plunge mostly because it uses precious metals which have a variety of better, not the least of which is that they are less likely to corrode.

She did manage to leve a bit of the titanium tool inmy root, though. Not thrilled about that.

Nanou1 · 10/08/2006 15:49

uwila... teeths are too important and vital to go cheap.... "treat yourself"

suejonez · 10/08/2006 15:53

agree - thats why I go private - £150 extra is a lot but not much over the lifetime of the crown. Will the titanium thingie be a problem?

foxinsocks · 10/08/2006 16:05

quokka, best thing I ever got for my carpal (and subsequent de quervains tendonitis - google this because in my experience, doctors often miss it!) was a stiff wrist brace. You wear it at night (and whenever it hurts) and it helps enormously. I got mine from the physio but I imagine you can buy them at the chemist or ask the GP for them.

quokka · 10/08/2006 16:25

FIS already have the wrist splints that I wear at night which do help but just had a terrible night of pain, will do your google now - cheers

MrsBigD · 11/08/2006 07:32

I know there are woree things happing to other people and all over the world but I need a bit of sympathy my flight has been cancelled

OP posts:
Uwila · 11/08/2006 08:15

Oh no! What are you going to do? Can you get on another flight? I know you were really looking forward to this trip. So sorry!

MrsBigD · 11/08/2006 08:15

Yippieh! I'm actually going!

After countless minutes on hold with BA I got through to a human being in Manchester and he re-booked me for 17:25 today

Panic & Stress over

Thanks for letting me vent
