OK, so who would be interested in another Northern "lasses" meet up.

I'll own up and say I'm completely bombed out pre Christmas, and my idea of fun isn't fighting the Xmas shopping crowds to find lunch + and I need something to look forward to in the dark and dreary days of January, but that doesn't stop the rest of you meeting up before hand, if you want to. I promise not to sulk.

For gods sakes

Rhubarb · 01/12/2003 14:29

Let's keep it as the Noodle Bar then shall we? FF are you still ok with that? I would offer to phone and book under Mumsnet, but with sprog no.2 due imminently I can't really make that offer.
However, here are the names so far:
Gumdrop
Bogwoppit
Dadslib
Lilibet
Janh
EMJ
ForestFly
Oliveoil
Dahlia
Ninja
Luchar
and myself. Can everyone just confirm if they are still interested or not? Also, need to find out if the Noodle Bar will allow kids, just in case myself or one of us gets stuck and has to bring 'em.

So - noodle bar. Once names are confirmed someone can book a table then when we arrive we ask for the Mumsnet Table. Shall we say from 4pm onwards? I don't want to get there too late as I will have to set off home fairly early. Is that ok with everyone?

Forestfly · 01/12/2003 14:52

That sounds fine by me

lilibet · 01/12/2003 15:16

Well done Roobs, we need a bit of decision making and organisation.
Sounds good to me!

janh · 01/12/2003 15:25

If that Printworks Noodle Bar will really charge £4 for drinks, please can we go to another one (was it Tampopo, dadslib? Would that be cheaper?)

(Can you tell I don't get out much? )

Forestfly · 01/12/2003 16:02

Here we go again

janh · 01/12/2003 16:21

FF, think of it like taking your grandma out - used to have a night on the town and still have change from half-a-crown you know

£4 for a drink!!!!!!!!!!

Yes of course dadslib, would be lovely to see them. Dp posts on here and I keep expecting to see his name appear on this thread, but he hasn't as yet, which is why I was asking about everyone being men, thought he may have changed his name and be coming!!!

ninja · 02/12/2003 12:18

I think we should make dadslib guess who we all are - note to self as still breast feeding, don't wear low cut top!

Sorry about earlier insults, I don't like Norwegian Blue either and you sound all young and trendy now! The noodle place is called wagamama and the food's reasonable.

lilibet · 02/12/2003 13:05

Ninja, not sure what the average age will be but I know that it will be a lot higher due to the presence of me and Janh!
but we can still show you young 'uns a thing or two!!!!

luchar · 02/12/2003 13:14

I'm still coming - whereever we might be going! I'll meet up earlier too Rhubarb as will not be staying very late either. Sorry don't post much these days - at work and no home PC as yet! Looking forward to seeing you all, Luchar

Gumdrop · 02/12/2003 13:49

I am coming defo - but I can't organise squat at present. Too busy using my toddler taming skills on work colleagues who should all GROW UP!!.

Sorry, sorry - retires muttering to back of cave.

Pretty please can someone book a table - thank you very much.

Gumdrop

I'm old too! I was talking about dadslib (although I know he's a bit older than me) - it's the bags under the eyes that make me feel old.

Rhubarb · 02/12/2003 22:37

£4 for a drink in Manchester? Surely that only happens in London? What drink are we talking about here? Do they serve Guinness? They better had!
Dadslib you chicken! Bringing your missus for moral support are you? Can't say I blame you though! Maybe we should invite SimpleSimon and his missus along too - sort that one out once and for all!
As I don't know from day to day if I'll be logging onto Mumsnet or not, please just take it that I'll be coming even if the venue is changed.
I wouldn't miss this meet-up for the world!

dot1 · 03/12/2003 09:11

Is it too late to add me and dp (Juno) to the list? Found the thread last week but have been feeling shy, but it'd be good to get out and meet you lot!

luchar · 03/12/2003 12:45

Wow - 14 of us so far then, that's pretty good! Glad you're coming too Dot1!

Rhubarb · 03/12/2003 16:05

Has anyone been to this noodle bar?

Hmmmm, right. Well folks it looks like you all get to sit on a bench eating your noodles - not very good for conversation or bookings!
Perhaps Moon under Water would be a better idea after all. It's in a central location, easy to find, very large, cheap food and drink and nice atmosphere.
Sorry to mess everyone about, but I just don't think we would get any chance to socialise properly in the noodle bar, sitting on a bench doesn't sound that comfy either! But read the review DL has sent and make up your own minds!

Hi, dadslib sent me in this direction.
I'm Julie, 26 years old and I have an 8 week old son, called Jacob. I live in close to Bolton, so I guess Manchester is the nearest city, but still a bit of a distance away from me as I don't have my own transport. Do any of you live local to Bolton? I hope to get to know some of you better, and I'll be sure to check these boards regularly.
Nice to meet you all.

Julie & Jacob

Rhubarb · 04/12/2003 15:43

I live in Preston, have you checked out Netmums.com? They have a Bolton site I think, and a Stockport one btw Dadslib. They have all the info on what's on for kids in your area, all the toddler groups are covered, play areas and there's a meet-a-mum section so you could meet up with someone local to you.
But if you can get to Manchester you'd be more than welcome on our meet-up!

Dare I change the venue to Moon Under Water? What does everyone else think? Is anyone intending to bring kids as I could check out whether it's a match day or not.
