OK, so who would be interested in another Northern "lasses" meet up.

I'll own up and say I'm completely bombed out pre Christmas, and my idea of fun isn't fighting the Xmas shopping crowds to find lunch + and I need something to look forward to in the dark and dreary days of January, but that doesn't stop the rest of you meeting up before hand, if you want to. I promise not to sulk.

No, please don't, it's ok, we were a bit late getting out of the pub as I was having a discussion with a certain gentleman!

Lovely to meet everyone and glad you all got home safely.

codswallop · 18/01/2004 13:12

is dadslib ok?

turnupthebass · 18/01/2004 13:22

Only realised this morning about my phone .
It had a full charge on it last night but is switched off now so it does look like it was taken when we were in the pub.

Really good night though! Good to be able to put faces to names now. We did at least manage to share the taxi with some other people who just missed the train too so that cut the cost down a bit.

Dadslib telling us how frustrating it is that he is now only able to read posts, but not post himself.

Rhubarb · 18/01/2004 15:53

Hello everyone! Great to meet you all! Am I the only one with no hangover? Ds slept till 3.30am last night though and then till 6.30am so I shall have to drink Guinness more often!
Sorry about your phone tutb
Glad to hear everyone got home alright. Thanks very much for the lift Janh, you're a star!

Festivefly · 18/01/2004 15:54

Hi Rhubarb nice to meet you to

lilibet · 18/01/2004 16:31

I didn't have a hangover - I think that the run from the pub to the station sobered me up!
I don't do running!!

tigermoth · 18/01/2004 17:48

Sounds like an evening to remember. And a first for mumsnet - a meetup with not one, but two male mumsnetters. Wish I'd been there to meet you all and say hello again to Tinker.

So dadslib was on good form I take it? I wonder if there is an amicable way to resolve his non posting status without upsetting anyone? I didn't follow the thread in question, I hasten to add, but I did read his apology.

Tinker · 18/01/2004 20:12

Hello everyone and, yes, an interesting evening! Good to put some more faces and real names to people. Sorry luchar left shortly after I arrived, didn't get a proper chance to talk - something I said?

Big sorry to Rhubarb's lovely friend for missing you in my round - have virtual glass of red on me tonight.

And we want tigermoth and more of the southerners to make it up to the next Northern one!

Twink · 18/01/2004 22:19

If you include non-southerners who happen to (have to !) live down here and have some floor space to spare, you're on ! As long as we have a truce on certain topics - I'd have been even worse company than usual last night, Wolverhampton who ????

Rhubarb, it's this .

Want to come? (DD is too little though - past her bedtime too probably). This is the booking form (7pm!)

Anybody else?

luchar · 19/01/2004 14:35

Hi - I had a lovely time on Saturday, it was really nice to put more faces to names! Sorry I had to get off early (nothing personal Tinker - childcare!)sounds like I missed some of the fun. My DS1 fell down the stairs yesterday so spent this am in A&E and he has broken his collarbone When shall we set a date for the next meet up - and when will NZ mum start posting?! You are all so nice - what a fab group Mumsnet is!

lilibet · 19/01/2004 16:05

Oh, luchar, hope he's ok, poor lamb. Do you have someone to look after him while you're at work or can you get time off?

JanH · 19/01/2004 16:34

Hi, luchar, I am sorry about your poor ds, hope it's not a bad break and he'll be mended soon. (And the other day I told sb34 that children are pretty bouncy when they fall )

NZmum hasn't got a reliable internet connection atm - we were talking about it in the car - but once she has one I think she'll be joining in (if we haven't put her off hahaha!)

It would be great to get some Londoners up for a meet - I could put one up - domestic slut preferred so she'd feel right at home! Anybody got any date suggestions? (Pref one when Man U are not playing at all....)

lilibet · 19/01/2004 16:50

yes, I would be happy to put someone up as well, or I could manage two of you, same conditions as Jan, domestic sluts only need apply!

Should we start thinking about a date seeing that the last one too so long to organise?

traceyshep · 19/01/2004 18:18

good idea lilibet, I want to come next time

Rhubarb · 20/01/2004 09:44

I could put someone up in dd's room if they don't mind sharing with her.
Luchar - sorry to hear about your ds, hope he's getting better now. It's dreadful when something like that happens isn't it? I remember my dd falling down the stairs, I didn't see it but I heard it and for a moment I truly think my heart just stopped. Luckily she was ok as she landed on the pram at the bottom of the stairs and that broke her fall.

Lilibet, I seriously do wish you would take something from us for the taxi fare, I feel very responsible for that. Shall we have a rally round anyway everyone?

lilibet · 20/01/2004 12:09

Buy me a drink next time

luchar · 20/01/2004 12:14

Hi everyone - DS1 is feeling a bit better now and having a day with his Nana. Shame he didn't bounce!! He fell from the top so was really lucky it wasn't worse I think. He is enjoying the fuss and attention though Lets set another date soon - how about the end of March/start of April? I'll get organised and stay out later next time! Thanks for you good wishes for DS1 - he's still singing 'who built the ark, no-one, no-one'!! Makes me think of a certain mumsnetter now!

Rhubarb · 20/01/2004 13:39

Tinker - in relation to the texts I sent ScummyMummy, if you remember what I wrote please do tell SM that I was just kidding - she might think I actually did that now!!!!!

Gumdrop · 20/01/2004 14:26

sorry - had a domestic crisis on the "some muppet put nail through water pipe - can I find the stop cock, can I heck" lines. Ended up phoning vendors (who moved 5 yrs ago) to try and find out where the blasted thing was. At the end of that was very dischuffed (especially with muppet)and although I could have found something dry and turned out - I was just in too bad a mood!

Hope you had a luvverly time!

DSW · 21/01/2004 12:47

Ladies and DL - I have followed this thread from the beginning - and as I live no where near Manchester could not attend - I have been off work as dd is ill - but have been thinking about this all weekend - more gossip please!! What did DL look like in real life - any handbags left lying around for him??

Tinker · 21/01/2004 19:03

luchar - glad to hear it wasn't so bad for your little boy.

Rhubarb - I could tell her but I think she'd know the truth

Yes, I'm sure I could put a few up (would just need about a year's notice to get it up to Sluts Only Need Apply standards)

And yes, when's the next one?

Notice everyone's been very quiet about a certain person
