OK, so who would be interested in another Northern "lasses" meet up.

I'll own up and say I'm completely bombed out pre Christmas, and my idea of fun isn't fighting the Xmas shopping crowds to find lunch + and I need something to look forward to in the dark and dreary days of January, but that doesn't stop the rest of you meeting up before hand, if you want to. I promise not to sulk.

So, before we can go to moon under the water we have to know if children are coming, as they are not allowed in. Is it just me or is this thread going round in circles, i'm going to scream soon

philippat · 04/12/2003 20:01

you do all realise this is the funniest thread on MN at the minute?

(it shows how much I really don't want to work that I'm reading about Manchester meetups when I live in Wolverhampton...)

Sounds great Rhubarb!

ninja · 04/12/2003 20:12

doubly great!

Rhubarb · 04/12/2003 22:07

If I'm not in labour tomorrow, I shall phone them and ask. I shall also check with my bro (a Man Utd supporter) that it isn't a match day.

lilibet · 04/12/2003 22:45

Who's she phoning?
Noodle bar or moonunderwater?
sorry, I've got a bit lost, bad night and my head hurts

janh · 05/12/2003 09:15

moon under water, lilibet. (Hope you're feeling better this morning!)

I read the review of the noodle bar and thought it didn't look or sound like a good place for this kind of get together (OK if you all knew each other already) - never been to moon under water but Rhubarb has and thinks it would be good. (But the thing about not allowing kids in on match days is odd because apparently they have no satellite TV, and don't allow football shirts in either, so what's that about?)

dsw · 05/12/2003 09:29

I would like to come - but I live in Thatcham - Berkshire bit far for me. But sounds like it will be fun - have a great time wherever you decide to go - Moon Over Water is looking like the favorite.

I am just going to join this thread, 1 - because I don't want to do any work, 2 - because It is funny!!

dsw · 05/12/2003 09:30

Moon Under Water I mean!!

Rhubarb · 05/12/2003 09:58

Ok, phoned Moon Under Water, they say no kids on match days because of security - it's the police rule they say. Man City are playing at home on Sat 17th Jan, in fact most Saturdays either Man Utd or Man City will be playing at home, so I guess we can take it that children will not be allowed in on Saturdays.
Therefore we need to know if anyone plans on bringing their kids. If we all arrive childless then this shouldn't be a problem, but if someone is struggling to get a babysitter then the venue will have to be changed yet again!

So come on, feedback please!

Hope you're ok Lilibet.

janh · 05/12/2003 13:02

FF I know just how you feel!

Forestfly · 05/12/2003 13:16

I will not bring my kids, i will need a drink if we ever make it, i can see it now; what do you want to drink, i don't know what do you want. Shall we sit there, i don't mind what do you want to do

janh · 05/12/2003 13:21

Tell you what, FF, just bring an open bottle, we'll sit in a corner and glug.

I was joking yes! have dipped into this occasionally over the last few weeks but not posted til now.

Yep - up here in sunny (today at least!) Wigan.
Glugging from a bottle in the corner sounds just perfect to me - what could be simpler?

Pity it can't start this afternoon really....

Forestfly · 05/12/2003 13:33

Can we put the bottles in brown paper bags and spit at people?
