Ponka - whereabouts in Gedling are you? There are some lovely people go to the Mums and Toddlers group I go to...

Ponka · 20/01/2006 08:20

Squarer, I go to the toddler group opposite the church quite a bit. It could be that we've spoken, if that's the one you go to!

I'll try to make the meet up after work, I think.

Squarer · 20/01/2006 14:15

I go to a toddler group in a church Ponka! Its the Pentecostal Church hall near Carlton Square.

The only one I knew about in Gedling is the one at the Family Centre near the mini roundabout. Is there another one, or is it one and the same?

Have you been to the Rattle Rhyme and Roll sessions in the library on Manor Road? They are brilliant. I read something that said they were now every Tuesday morning.

Ponka · 20/01/2006 14:23

It's the one at the mini roundabout off Arnold lane/Gedling Main Rd I go to. Singing at Carlton Library is great but it clashes with playgroup so I have only been a handful of times. I could meet you (or anyone else who's up for it) there one time as an extra mini - meetup, if you'd like. Anyone else been there before?

blondie82 · 20/01/2006 15:02

squarer and ponka, are you two coming to the little meet up on wednesday?

OP posts:
Squarer · 20/01/2006 16:24

I can't make the Bridgford one Blondie.... I'm oop north that day

I was thinking about the farm visit as a bigger meetup and think it would be best when it's a tad warmer, so will probably just CAT everyone nearer the warmer times.

Always up for the Rattle Rhyme and Roll at Carlton library - I knoe Elf and PinkMagic are in the vicinity if they are still watching this thread? You're not too far either though are you Blondie? Its a 10pm start....

Squarer · 20/01/2006 16:26

By the way - I got it wrong.. it's not the Pentecostal church - it's the baptist church over the road where I go (I noticed when walking the dog this afternoon!)

blondie82 · 20/01/2006 17:00

whats that for squarer?

OP posts:
Squarer · 20/01/2006 18:18

It's Rattle Rhyme and Roll at the library in Carlton Blondie. Its aimed at babies and toddlers and involves mummies singing and doing actions with their baby. They then get "musical instruments" to play in the second half. I first took DS when he was 5 months old, so it should be well suited to your DD...

blondie82 · 20/01/2006 21:10

which library is that at?

OP posts:
Squarer · 20/01/2006 22:26

It's on Manor Road - in between the fire station and the ambulance station... great for entertaining baby and any one who likes men in uniform!

blondie82 · 21/01/2006 10:05

is that past carlton square? if it is, i think i know where you mean

OP posts:
Ponka · 21/01/2006 13:55

Yes blondie, all being well I should be able to make Wednesday for a bit. Probably without DS though. It's Cafe Nero near Broadmarsh, isn't it? That sounds great. I've not been in there.

Ponka · 21/01/2006 13:57

To get to the Manor Road Library you go away from town past Carlton Square and then turn Right at the big set of traffic lights. It's next to the fire station.

Squarer · 21/01/2006 13:58
blondie82 · 21/01/2006 14:31

i think i know where it is then....
hope cafe nero has got loads of room inside, my pram isnt exactly tiny!!

OP posts:
blondie82 · 23/01/2006 14:12

is anyone else on for wednesday?

OP posts:
robinpud · 23/01/2006 19:55

Rhian- I have just found out work have arranged a meeting for me on Wednesday which I have only just found out about so I won't make Cafe Nero this time. It sounds as if there will be Blondie, Ponka and her enormous pram and possible Furlong so you won't be short of conversation. Have fun and let me know how it goes!

MyTrollPenceWorth · 23/01/2006 20:23

Rhian, will also give you a nudge next time I make it over to Rushcliffe Country Park to see if you fancy a walk

Squarer · 23/01/2006 20:32

Ooops.. keep "outing" my silly aliases.....

blondie82 · 24/01/2006 13:39

Ponka, are you still coming on wednesday?

OP posts:
Rhian101 · 24/01/2006 19:06

Hi MTPW! Definately, anyone ever fancy a wander round Rushcliffe park let me know!
Sorry to hear that Robinpud. I will definately be there so anyone who's interested please don't leave me sitting alone in a cafe! LoL
See you there Blondie, Ponka and hopefully Furlong.

Rhian101 · 24/01/2006 19:26

Where exactly is Cafe Nero, does anybody know?

Ponka · 24/01/2006 20:27

Ahem. Ooops. Thanks for the heads up, Squarer. I'd have been sitting on my own in Cafe Nero in town and going up to all ladies with babies/children asking them if they use the internet if I hadn't been on tonight . I think I'll be able to make it for a short while. I'll double check that DS will be O.K. to stay a bit longer than normal and hopefully will see you there. I don't know where it is either.

robinpud · 24/01/2006 20:32

Rhian- cafe nero is on Central Avenue in West Bridgford. Central avenue is the main shopping street in west Bridgford. It is just opposite the library. you can park at the side of the library or the bus should come straight down the middle of Central avenue from Ruddington.
Have fun- I shall think of you whilst I am in boring meeting!
