okidoki - I will ask around at playgroup (next one in January).

Where on earth would you park near there if you took your car in? Do you have a space provided by work?

QueSerahSerah · 28/12/2005 21:01

PS.. I used to work in 2 places on Talbot Street - the world is not only small but now shrinking!!!

hotmulledwinemama · 28/12/2005 21:42

Hiya! My sis still lives in Carlton and has a nearly 20 week son who will be starting nursery at the beginning of Feb. Nephew will be going to one at the bottom of Parkdale Rd (Oakdale Rd end) sis has a friend that already has a child there and really likes it. The nursery was started by 2 mums who are qualified teachers so I think educationally it is quite good etc. I'll ask my sis the name and details etc. HTH

We3kingsofOrinocoare · 28/12/2005 21:53

My niece goes to Carrington Day Nursery and my sister thinks it's wonderful, if that's any help? Don't know if it's too far out of the way though, it's about opposite the Moat House (the old Savoy) hotel.

pinkmagic1 · 28/12/2005 21:53

I live in Carlton, near Tesco and have a little boy of 18 months, anyone up for a Nottingham meet up?
Elf1981, I can highly recommend the nursery DS goes too. i know it is very busy at the moment but I think it depends what days you need. CAT me if you want any more info.

hotmulledwinemama · 28/12/2005 22:37

Pinkmagic1 is your ds called Tom?

hotmulledwinemama · 28/12/2005 22:39

I missed the last meetup as dd had the runs. I am in the Feb06 thread with Frisbe - so we might be a little busy in the new year!

pinkmagic1 · 28/12/2005 22:46

No hes not called Tom.

QueSerahSerah · 28/12/2005 23:05

you live near me then Pinkmagic

Was the last meetup the one at Planet Happy in Ripley or have I missed one???

hotmulledwinemama · 28/12/2005 23:09

PM1 - my sis has a friend near you that does.

There was a Nottm meetup in August at the castle - I think Frisbe went. I wanted to as I said dd had the runs.

QueSerahSerah · 28/12/2005 23:15

Oh yes.. I remember now - I went to it

QueSerahSerah · 28/12/2005 23:17

By the way HMWM.... did you know that you can get into the castle for free if you are a member of the Library on Angel Row??? (The WB library won't do as won't my local library as they are not in Nottingham city)

hotmulledwinemama · 28/12/2005 23:20

I heard that. As I don't live in Nottm City I don't think I can join the City library service - do have a card for the county service - bloody local government reorganisation!

Elf1981 · 29/12/2005 00:02

pinkmagic1, I will CAT you.
Nottingham meet up sounds fab. Two friends of mine use mumsnet (one's computerless at the mo, tends to use it at work but she's on mat leave too) and I think they'd be interested!
My prob with nurseries is that SIL is a nursery nurse assistant, shes worked at a few and tends to have an opinion on the ones she's worked at, but they have since been taken over. I want personal recommendations from parents with children there, not some jaded view of somebody thinking about how low paid it was etc.

Elf1981 · 29/12/2005 00:02

QueSerahSerah - shrinking world isnt the word for it!!

blondie82 · 29/12/2005 08:34

Pinkmagic1, im not too far away from u. i live near greenwood dale school. i usually walk to tesco if i need something and the weather is ok!

I'll bet you don't fancy Southdale Road today!

QueSerahSerah · 29/12/2005 09:30

HMWM - the chappie on the castle gates told me that anyone in the burbs can be a member of the Angel Row Library. Not sure just how true that is, but I will test it when DS is older.

mandymac · 29/12/2005 09:52

Morning . I would be up for a meet-up, I was too shy to go to the summer one at the castle. DD is 6 months and I am back to work from the new year , but will be off on Tuesdays until Easter . Is everywhere in Notts as Icy as it is up my way this morning? I am basically housebound, as I am too scared to risk falling over carrying dd. I have an exciting day pureeing veggies planned - yipee .

mandymac · 29/12/2005 09:55

Oh forgot to say. I have also heard good things about Carrington Day Nursery, I have a friend who's DTs go there and another friends little boy starting there in the new year. DD is going to Woodthorpe Day Nursery, which was recommended to me by a work colleague. Don't wish to put the wind up you, but we had to reserve DD's place when I was about 5 months pg, so worth checking places out whereever asap.

blondie82 · 29/12/2005 10:26

would be up for a meet too. since ive had dd, havent been out with friends as much! its icy everywhere today, got to head off to work soon. got to walk down 2 hills to get to the bus stop!!

Hi all, crikey never realised there were so many locals like hotmama says we might be busy in the next month or two, but will try to pop along if something is organised!
Serah you were right last meet was Ripley, so far as I'm aware anyway!!

robbinxmaspud · 29/12/2005 13:12
