I thought last night that it would be nice for us to meet up again soon, a lunch time ish meet with the kids (less organisation required that way!), or if you are lucky enough to be kid free for the day come along anyway! Maybe to see some of the lovely xmas lights around central London. Maybe if JL does have an ad hoc santa to see him too! I went to one of the Giraffe cafe/bars a few weeks ago, which I thought might be a good place to go? Not crowded, not overpowering music, smoke free for the kis, good reasonably priced food and very child friendly. Am open to oher ideas though!

So does anyone have any dates they can/can't do? I really enjoyed our meet up at the weekend and QueenVic is having a bit of a hard time of it at the moment and needs some cheering. Hopefully we will be able to help out and all have a good giggle at the same time.

Health check? Anyone else poorly, any one with any miraculous recoveries?

kleist · 12/12/2005 13:48

OnTheFlossDayOfChristmas · 12/12/2005 19:24

Was lovely to see you all. Definately hope we can do it in the new year, after Hunker has a ickle baby like Nova's lovely girl and before I get banished to the country. Hope DD was ok when you got back Vicki! And yours too LBS.

OhLittleBitShyOfBethlehem · 12/12/2005 19:31

was lovely to meet you all, and YES, we muct do it again in the New Year with Junior Munker 2!!!

Is odd to have some faces to names, but in a nice way.

Floss, i hope you got to Covent gdn okay!!(and home in not too busy trains)... did Ben zzzz at all?

hub2dee · 12/12/2005 19:52

Was the BM a good meeting up place ? Café OK ?

SnowQueenVictoria · 12/12/2005 20:07

I thought it was a good venue, pretty central, difficult to miss (well with the odd exception Hunkers DH) and plenty of space for buggys, highchairs etc.

No points for atmosphere, cosyness etc but excellent for a gaggle of gossiping MNers. And something to do after if wanted.

Nova, your DD is beautiful! Floss, your DS is an absolute charmer. And Hunker, your DS is a real cutie.

And Floss - you REALLY must let me buy you a cuppa next time Thank you for showing me back to the station.

HunkerXmasAndAMunkerNewYear · 12/12/2005 20:08

Hello - just got home! Mad day - went to London Eye with my parents after meeting Floss and DS, QV and DS, Nova and DD and LBS - lovely they all were too

Tried to come home on the Met line...the whole thing was suspended, so got a bus to Liverpool Street and got the Central line.

DS was amazingly well behaved - he's just about to have his dinner, which I rather think he'll be very ready for!

I thought the British Museum was a good place to meet - not a vast amount of choice in the cafe we went to, but lots of space and even though it was quite busy, it didn't seem crowded. I know the Natural History's a good one to meet in too. Would love to do this again, but not sure when it'll be - perhaps I'll do the baby in sling thing like Nova did today and leave DS with a doting grandparent next time

HunkerXmasAndAMunkerNewYear · 12/12/2005 20:10

Yes, DH not great at finding places Still, he got there in the end! The drive looks great, btw - they've got the base in and the edging done and half out front step built - it looks considerably better than the before shot DH took this morning and it's half-finished I'm going to want to go and kiss the ground when it's finished

SnowQueenVictoria · 12/12/2005 20:11

Yes - a day with the grandparents was more fun for DD than i think she would have had sat for a few hours with us lot - definitely do that with yours next time

OnTheFlossDayOfChristmas · 12/12/2005 20:11

Oh no. DS battled bravely to the last. Got to Covent Garden, got my stuff and home by 4.30. So not too bad really. He was bathed, fed and in bed by six. He's a little tyke! QV, your DS was lovely too, and I realised after I had gone I didn't say goodbye to Hunker's gorgeous boy, so sorry! Was too busy trying to work out my bladder.

SnowQueenVictoria · 12/12/2005 20:12

Just as well he had you to direct him on the awkward journey home

Glad the driveway is coming along - at least you feel like you are getting your moneys worth

Not sure you should kiss it though

SnowQueenVictoria · 12/12/2005 20:14

OOOh! Had a policeman help me with ALL the steps at Holborn station

bauble99 · 12/12/2005 20:19

I'm glad you had a good day.....no really........I am.

harpsiheraldangelssing · 12/12/2005 20:20

glad you all had a good time, esp you Queen Vic

Cadeauxbury · 12/12/2005 20:20

Guys, sorry I didn't amke it. My lift back to London didn't set off until nearly 3pm from Sussex so I had no chance. Hope you had a lovely day.

SnowQueenVictoria · 12/12/2005 21:15

Thanks everyone.

hub2dee · 12/12/2005 21:28

Behave, bubb.

Well organised Floss.

I'm up for something next year: Feb onwards for me.

novabrandybutterpowder · 12/12/2005 21:40

Bit late, but I'll add my two pennies worth..

The Museum was a good place to meet, and do you know all the years I've lived in London I never knew it was there - the shame!

Sorry DD was a bit grumbly, it made having a proper conversation difficult, she normally sleeps like a log in the sling. Too many new faces I suppose...

Lovely to see you all, and look forward to doing something similar in the new year
