I thought last night that it would be nice for us to meet up again soon, a lunch time ish meet with the kids (less organisation required that way!), or if you are lucky enough to be kid free for the day come along anyway! Maybe to see some of the lovely xmas lights around central London. Maybe if JL does have an ad hoc santa to see him too! I went to one of the Giraffe cafe/bars a few weeks ago, which I thought might be a good place to go? Not crowded, not overpowering music, smoke free for the kis, good reasonably priced food and very child friendly. Am open to oher ideas though!

So does anyone have any dates they can/can't do? I really enjoyed our meet up at the weekend and QueenVic is having a bit of a hard time of it at the moment and needs some cheering. Hopefully we will be able to help out and all have a good giggle at the same time.

argh, i'm lost. is it cafe next to room 12 (whispers... where is that?) or the one next to the reading roomon grouond floor, or something i've missed?????????

I'm childless for the day, 5ft2, shortish bobbed brown hair, glasses, prob wearing a purple anorak (sounds sad really!!!), 26 but have been told (insultingly lol ie you don't look old enough to be married) i look younger, so maybe look for someone who looks say 16 lol.

OhLittleBitShyOfBethlehem · 11/12/2005 10:35

gosh i'm getting all excited!!!!!!!!!!

kleist · 11/12/2005 10:35

Why don't we go for the Great Court? You can't go wrong with that one, it's huge, ground level. Enter the Museum, keep walking straight ahead and you just get there!

I've mailed Floss to say may possibly not be able to make it as I've lost my bloody voice. It's been getting more and more gratey since Friday but this morning I'm whispering and squeaking. Horrible. Dd, very chatty, doesn't quite believe I'm not faking it.

OnTheFlossDayOfChristmas · 11/12/2005 11:20

Gound level does sound good. Ok, decision made!

hub2dee · 11/12/2005 12:44

Pants. i think I'm gonna officially bail. It is so close to when we leave and I have a long (and boring) to do list. If I pull an all-nighter and do Very Responsible Things (tonight), I'll turn up, but in all likelihood, considering I am a procrastinating slacker, please count me out of this one.

Sorry all, and have fun !

Hope your voice comes back, kleist.

HunkerXmasAndAMunkerNewYear · 11/12/2005 12:45

Woke up this morning with a horribly sore throat - am hoping very, very hard that I'm going to be OK for tomorrow. Have overdone it lately - still working four days a week, trying to keep my diabetes under control, etc, etc - feel rotten. But will definitely try very hard to get there.

Floss and QV, I have your mob numbers so will text you in the morning to let you know whether we're coming.

hub2dee · 11/12/2005 12:54

Droppin' like flies.

Just an idea - maybe post a new meet up thread with a proper title and a few more last-minute folk might notice it and join you ?

kleist · 11/12/2005 13:18

I so want to come tomorrow but my voice is well and truly gone. And dd's started coughing ... It's that time of year isn't it? Dd's got her Nativity play on Tuesday and has been rehearsing for weeks. If she loses her voice how awful will THAT be???

OnTheFlossDayOfChristmas · 11/12/2005 13:25

OMG! Will it just be me and DS sat there, whistling on a huge table!

kleist · 11/12/2005 13:32

Don't count me out just yet. There's still a chance we'll be ok. I don't mind if none of you can hear me speak as I talk incomprehensible nonsense anyway , I'm more bothered about how dd is. BUT if I keep her off school (not meant to send them for contagious reasons as much as anything) we may still be able to come in the morning. I've promised her Santa's Grotto tomorrow. There'll be tears if I don't make it ...

OhLittleBitShyOfBethlehem · 11/12/2005 14:11

I'm still coming!!!

Oh Lockets! Poor DD. At least it will be out of the way now for her, but she's still a bit too young really isn't she? Have you had it? Need to be careful now with No 3 coming along.

It's not brilliant while you are pregnant, no. But if DD1 has already had it and you have been in such close proximity and not caught it then I'd imagine you would be fine. I had it when I was 10 and it was horrible. Would like DS to get it early! In fact, are you sure you can't come? I have his MMR on Friday which I really haven't had the time to give much thought to so this could be my get out clause !

SnowQueenVictoria · 11/12/2005 20:34

lockets

Isnt chicken pox a mare for you too in your current condition?

I am still coming but only with DS.

Am having bad day today but am hoping it will lift by tomorrow. Elsewise you'll all have to sit and look at my miserable face all day

novabrandybutterpowder · 11/12/2005 21:20

I'm still coming - should be there by 11.15 - 11.30.

Only just got in from horrendous time visiting IL's who happen to live off the M1, so lots of detours and traffic jams, but will try to email Floss my number now in the hope I can get your number before I leave tomorrow. Otherwise I will just approach random people in the hope I find you

SnowQueenVictoria · 11/12/2005 21:24

I know what you look like nova - saw you at the xmas meetup

novabrandybutterpowder · 11/12/2005 21:49

Believe me, in the cold light of day with no make-up/sleep/glam dress, I'll be a shell of the woman you met at the christmas dinner!

kleist · 11/12/2005 22:06

Ok, I'm thinking it's unlikely we'll make it now which I'm really fed up about as i was looking forward to it so much. Dd's not going to be up to anything major, I doubt, tomorrow. But if there's any change for the better I'll be there! And if not, like someone else said, I hope there'll be a chance to meet after Christmas.

HunkerXmasAndAMunkerNewYear · 11/12/2005 22:29

I'm feeling a lot better than I was this morning - we're still hoping to come. Just fingers crossed that DS doesn't wake up with a sore throat in the morning

SnowQueenVictoria · 11/12/2005 22:44

Just shove some medised down his throat, he'll be fine

HunkerXmasAndAMunkerNewYear · 11/12/2005 22:55

LOL QV!

Lockets, sorry DD2 has chicken pox Will meet you one day, am sure!
