Ok, a thread to try and organise a Christmas meet.

Suggestions for dates and preference as to what we do. i.e the usual meal/p&ss up and nightclub or something rather more refined? .

Hopefully I'll be able to go and KP was also saying she is now a possible as her mum's op has been postponed by a week. I'll let you know in a couple of days if that's ok. I don't want to miss out on another drunken night out

Merlin · 23/11/2005 17:01

Hey Amynix and KP would be great to see you both!
If you could let me know ASAP please.

So, is everyone OK then for the Comedy thing cos we better book it. I think the deal is that the £12.50 covers your entrance and the food as stated on the flyer on their website which just to repeat is either the starter selection OR one of the burgers. Is that sufficient for everyone? Obviously we can fill up on drink .

DelGirl · 23/11/2005 17:14

Can we make it the 8th instead please, my neighbour can't do the 7th . Only joking, i'll get a sitter. I may not drink so might drive but i'll see how I feel nearer the time.

Oh ha ha very funny! DG are you OK with the food if the normal menu isn't available which I don't think it is?

flamesparrow · 23/11/2005 19:28

pmsl @ Delgirl - I though WHAT!?!?!?!?

Menu doesn't seem very much does it, if that is all we get to eat

DelGirl · 23/11/2005 20:09

Her dh is going to do it now and she'll take over from him when she gets back bless 'em.

Yeah, fine with the menu thanks Merlin. Catch up soon. Offline now prob til next Weds unless I can sneak on my sister's pc.

Merlin · 23/11/2005 21:07

yeah but Flame I think the deal here is really you are paying for the comedy and the food is secondary. I'm quite happy to go elsewhere for a more 'full-on' meal if that's what everyone wants!

jodee · 23/11/2005 21:09

Gonna have to back out, I'm afraid, DH has booked tickets for David Gray at the BIC on the 8th, which technically means I'm free onthe 7th but Mum can't sit in on both nights, DH working late on 7th (as usual ... but I nearly dropped my cup of tea when he suggested going to see David Gray!).

Bunny, are you getting emails thru? Sent one in reply to yours last week???

Merlin · 23/11/2005 21:15

Oh Jodee - we were counting on you to take the dancefloor by storm! Nice of DH to take you to David Gray though you lucky girl!!!

flamesparrow · 24/11/2005 08:12

Sorry, it was more of a statement than a complaint . I'm fine to go anywhere I don't get out much, so really not picky!!!

Merlin · 24/11/2005 13:05

Been thinking about this girls, and think the comedy thing is not such a good idea because we wont really get much of a chance to chat and gossip will we? Which of course is a big part of a Mumsnet meetup

Think a big blowout meal in a restaurant is better, so back to the drawing board! Any more suggestions anyone?

Merlin · 24/11/2005 13:17

How about Coriander on Richmond Hill (Mexican) - always lively.

flamesparrow · 24/11/2005 15:39

I was thinking the same thing today (about comedy, not necessarily the mexican ). Again, I go anywhere

amynnixmum · 24/11/2005 15:45

Oh I am so glad you girls said that. The comedy thing sounded fun but I'd personally prefer a meal where we can chat etc. Also KP is unable to make a commitment this far ahead unfortunately and when i spoke to her earlier said to count her out. If we go for a meal it won't be a problem as she can decide nearer the time. Hopefully she'll be able to come

I can definately come. I have spoken to Dh and booked him in so see you there wherever we go.

Bunglie · 24/11/2005 15:47

I would love to come, but after the London meet-up I am not sure that dh will let me!! I come from the otherside of Dorchester, but I will let you know if that is OK, and you don't mind me coming ???
Love to all Bunglie XX

chjlly · 24/11/2005 15:47

I'm happy to go any where I'm not fussy!
Anything for a nice meal out

(and a few drinks)

amynnixmum · 24/11/2005 15:51

You are definately welcome bunglie Please try to come.

Bunglie · 24/11/2005 16:01

Thanks Amynnixmim.

Could someone put down in brief where you have all agreed to meet-up and to go, to save me having to read through the whole thread!!! -Sorry!

I am hoping that after the London Meet-up that I will have more courage, and I rarely meet mums in RL, so this would be good for me and I will/do look forward to it. I will cook dh his favourite for supper tonight and I know he will not mind, like all men a full tummy and he is open to any suggestion just as long as he thinks it will get rid of me so he can sleep it off
Do I need to send anyone any money??

Merlin · 24/11/2005 16:04

Bunglie would be great to meet you so hope you can make it. I'm making an executive decision (hope noone minds!) and am going to say Coriander at 8/8.30pm on Wed 7th Dec.

Gonna start a new thread too cos this one is way too long now!!!

flamesparrow · 24/11/2005 16:05

You can send me some money if you want!

Nothin to do with the meal, but if you're wanting to give it away....

Bunglie · 24/11/2005 16:11

Flamesparrow..... I guess I asked for that!

Sorry but I am not that rich...but one day ....(bunglie dreams......!)

Bunglie · 24/11/2005 16:14

I will have to spend the night in a B & B I think, as the trains to where I live stop running quite early from bournmouth, but I shall check. Does anyone know of a goo B & B that is quite clos?
I really would love to join you all.
Love
Bunglie XX

amynnixmum · 24/11/2005 16:30

I can find out or alternatively you could stay with us if you like. We have a futon in the office which is quite comfy. I understand if you don't want to since we've never met but you are very welcome if it would help. Not sure I'm up for late night dancing though so if you want to stay up with the likes of bunny and sparkler... have fun

Bunglie · 24/11/2005 16:44

amynnixmum, that is really very kind of you and I would LOVE to stay with you. I am not a party animal, but you might change your mind when I tell you that I am in a wheelchair! I am quite mobile on my bum though and can shuffle around like a toddler on it, I manage stairs this way and the loo, but I understand if this is too much for you to cope with. I REALLY do understand if you would rather not have me, much as I would love to stay with you, so please do not feel guilty in retracting your invitation. It will not stop me from trying my best to come to the meet-up though.
Love, Bunglie XX

amynnixmum · 24/11/2005 16:53

Hi Bunglie,

I'm not retracting my offer at all but feel its only fair to warn you that my house is not the most accessible as it is spread out over 4 floors. It is split level though so each set of stairs is only 7 steps. The office is at the top unfortunately but it would be no problem to bring the futon down to the lounge (on the 2nd floor) if that would be easier for you. You might be wakened fairly early by my children though!!. Just kidding - they will be under strict instructions to stay in their room until its time to get ready for school

You are welcome to stay and it is no trouble for us
