Having said that about ASK, I now have a 2 for 1 voucher for it that can be used by up to 6 people, so 6 people eating only pay for 3 of them.

I'm not sure if I can make Beamish on Tuesday, if I do I may have to meet you in the afternoon or something Confused

Indith · 20/02/2011 19:59

Oh no :(

I still odn't know if I have a car or not.

OP posts:
LeggyBlondeNE · 20/02/2011 22:05

Right, I'm here and free-ish on Tuesday - what's the Beamish plan?

KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/02/2011 09:48

I don't know... what time are we meeting?

Don't think weather will be great though...

KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/02/2011 16:24

Bump!

Oh they have ice skating on. Do I dare?? Grin

Also what are people thinking of for lunch? I don't think they have a cafe there and it will be too cold for a picnic.

juneybean · 21/02/2011 16:42

They do have a fantastic cafe but it's up a flight of stairs, not terribly handy for anyone bringing buggies!

Indith · 21/02/2011 16:43

Oh I love ice skating! In my head I can figure skate. Real Life is somewhat different.

It has been snowing on and off here, disgusting, wet, horrible stuff. Tomorrow is supposed to be more of the same. Would I sound like a terrific wimp if I suggested we may want to look into alternatives?

OP posts:
KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/02/2011 17:17

Indith - tbh I was thinking the same, it is going to be really cold :(

And the upstairs cafe does not sound very child friendly!

Not sure what to suggest... any soft play is going to be absolutely heaving with school kids.

I was thinking of Locomotion but will you all be able to get there?

It is great for train obsessed small boys and girls, free entry as well. There is an outdoor play area as well but not huge amounts to do except look at the trains. There is a cafe there which is okay but a little pricey.

LeggyBlondeNE · 21/02/2011 17:56

Hm my cleaner can only come at 11.15 tomorrow (instead of today) and as we've got a viewing weds I don't want to move her. Really must give her a key...

If you end up somewhere nearish could come in the pm...

Indith · 21/02/2011 18:09

I hate this sort of weather, there is just nowhere to meet up with children that isn't hugely expensive or needs a car/vast amounts of money on several different buses to get to. Can't wait for better weather when we can just rock up at a park with some picnic blankets.

OP posts:
KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/02/2011 18:24

Yeah it is crap :(

Looked at Blue reef aquarium but it a very long way for me and it is expensive as well.

Should we just knock this on the head until we get better weather?

LeggyBlondeNE · 21/02/2011 19:11

Or half term's over?! Then at least the indoor play places will be less overrun

KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/02/2011 19:27

Yes that would suit me fine.

Indith · 21/02/2011 19:57

Guess so. If anyone wants to play with me tomorrow though you'd be very welcome. I may be forced to strangle a child or 2 if I don't have osme sort of entertainment Hmm.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 21/02/2011 19:59

Can't do anything about the "very long way away" thing, but if you are ever going to Blue Reef sign up for a Discover card - gets one adult in free. Also gets discounts on a load of other stuff in Tyne & Wear, but you make your money back and some just on the Blue Reef

KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/02/2011 20:16

Indith - if you sure that will be lovely!!

I can bring cake :D

spiggy · 21/02/2011 20:21

I guessed that the weather might put paid to Beamish, it's freezing at the moment Sad. Still, it won't be too long til it warms up, although am a bit worried that means that it won't belong til DS2 arrives and I haven't quite got my head round that yet.

Indith, I can do something tomorrow if you want and if you have car seats I can put the spare seats in the tank car and pick up if you need it. Will possibly save the lives of several children Grin

Totally with you on the weekends. It has actually been fab here recently- very few football matches have meant that DP has been here most weekends. We've got LOADS done round the house and there have been actual hours where I haven't wanted to kill the children had to shout. Plus it has meant that we have been spending time as a family rather than each fighting to get some "me time".

spiggy · 21/02/2011 20:28

oops x post with Kara Grin. Did you decide on what hospital to go to? Or are you going to ask for a hb and decide on the day?

Indith · 21/02/2011 21:42

You can always come too spiggy, specially if kara is bringing cake Grin. We can lock all the boys in one room with the lego and then we just have to make sure the girl don't kill themselves.

God I'd better clean the bathroom. And do the washing up. I'm addicted to OBEM though.

OP posts:
Indith · 21/02/2011 22:07

Oh and someone has to bring cake. I have no butter to make one.

OP posts:
KaraStarbuckThrace · 21/02/2011 22:21

I am on cake duty.

I shall nip into M&S on the way.

Spiggy - going to James Cook. Not ruled out HB though, but may mention it to MW next week.

spiggy · 22/02/2011 08:26

I can't turn down cake Grin. Indith if you message me your address on FB I'll try and find you.

DD has developed a fear of spiders. Found a tiny one in the kitchen at dinner time yesterday resulting in screaming and shaking. Then she's been up all night crying about the "spidies". Her favourite book is "the very busy spider" so I can't quite work out where this has come from Confused

Kara, I hope you get a sympathetic response from the mw. I should be getting confirmation of mine soon [excited]

KaraStarbuckThrace · 22/02/2011 09:37

What sort of cake? Will have to go to Asda for cake as need to doing some shopping.

Indith · 22/02/2011 11:48

Chocolate. Always chocolate. And never coffee.
