went bowling today and saw the posters for xmas bookings.

is there going to be a mumsnet Xmas meet this year and which ultra supreme queen of mums is going to organise it?

Anyone from Colchester/surrounding area going to get the trian? Dh is worried about me getting a train home on my own late at night. Must say that I'm a bit nervous too!

i looked up reviews for la rueda - found out the answer to my own question

spanish is the food - not my taste.

there wasnt mention of a restaurant - but there was mention of surly waiters and crappy food swimming in oil.

there was a couple of nice comments too though.

i think that most people can find something they like about italian food - be it pasta or pizza or just a garlic bread.

anyway i e - mailed da marios and havent recieved a reply. - i will be very busy until end of next week and so will not be able to do anything until then - this gives them time to turn on the computer and answer.

it gives you lot time to decide on a venue.

i will provisionally book for twenty cos some will inevitabley drop out and some more will want to come.

the problem will come when i have to put a deposit down to secure somewhere - i dont mind giving a returnable cheque - but i dont want to end up paying for someone who cant or doesnt turn up.

Sorry, Custardo, looks like you were left with all the thinking to do last night. I was in Zedsville USA at the time.

I can't comment on last year's venue since I wasn't there. A dance floor doesn't matter to me in the least since I have cartilege damage and hobble everywhere anyway! I am happy to go along to wherever anyone else wants to go, but if you are looking for suggestions - all I'd say is it's best if it's a place near a tube station, which it sounds like the places mentioned already are.

Custardo the food at La Rueda is not all that it has to be said. I only suggested it for the silly disco!

I much prefer Italian and am happy to go along with whatever is decided.

Can't do 22 Nov as am going to a wedding.

riht have provisionally booked with carlos at da marios for 6th december saturday

it will be £25 per head

with a bottle of house red and house white between every 6 people this will be £29 per person.

i am willing to give the deposit cheque of £200 - which they will hand back to me on the night

IF YOU ALL ARE POSITIVE YOU WILL COME

£200 could feed my kids at lidl for 6 weeks!!
