Afternoon!

Apologies for the late starting of the thread. Got distracted by the papers and the need to cook stuff for later on today!

Anyway here's the spreadsheet for its final outing on this Bootcamp.

It's been a quiet one this time around, but hopefully people have seen good results.

No idea when the next Bootcamp will be, so in the meantime, lets keep chatting on this thread.

That's fantastic @Appalonia! It also shows just how important it is to get support from others who are following the same plan.

I'm still trying to decide when to start the next Bootcamp.

Well done @Appalonia! Brilliant achievement!

For purely selfish reasons, ASAP please @BIWI Grin! I'm 18lb down since mid-Feb and I'm going on holiday in exactly 6 weeks. I want another 6lb off before then and I could do with the accountability!

Thanks BIWI! There's something about accountability and support that makes all the difference. And even though my friend wasn't following the same diet plan, just knowing I had that weekly phone call, meant it was a way of tracking my weight loss and we could share our struggles and successes.

And all the support, recipe ideas and sense of community in this thread has been super helpful too!😁

Hello all. I did some bootcamps several years ago and they were the only time in my life when I slept well, so I am returning in the hope of banishing the demon insomnia again. I don't need to lose weight but I need to gain sleep! Day one tomorrow....

BIWI · 27/04/2024 17:35

Good luck with that @MsGoodenough!

MsGoodenough · 27/04/2024 17:38

Thank you! I have a week of 14 hour days ahead of me so it's probably crazy timing, but if I clicks my sleep into gear that would be amazing.

sheepdreams · 27/04/2024 21:54

Hello all

Ive been KoKo. Not weighed myself but clothes feel looser. DH thinks I look slimmer and skin looks better. Today I mindfully decided to have a day off for a special occasion and so have eaten empty carbohydrates. Within an hour I could feel my heart racing, felt desperately tired and sick and needed the loo. It just shows the effect physically. It’s made me more motivated to continue with bootcamp. HS anyone else experienced. Similar reaction after eating white carbs?

BIWI please consider having the next bootcamp very soon.

Thesoundofmusic23 · 28/04/2024 08:43

Had a similar experience this weekend @sheepdreams - had an upset tummy and needed the loo more after a carb slip. It was an eye opener and agree will make me koko better moving forward I think. Generally feel
like I have plateaued for the last few weeks and I need to gather myself for the next big push as I would like to loose another 10-15lbs to be back in the healthy weight range and get to my ultimate goal of fitness.

On the plus side I have been feeling more energy recently though and I think that’s a lot to do with going to Pilates classes regularly and drinking less 🍷 and getting more sleep.

Goodiewhemper · 28/04/2024 11:10

Good morning everyone. I have been koko but not checking on here so much. I did have a few fI days recently but I brushed myself off and got back in track. I have been a bit slack with water so I need to up my game this week.

I have been battling the most awful upper respiratory infection for over two weeks now and am just finished my second round of steroids. It is wearing with the constant coughing. I have also just had an appointment with my gyne as I started bleeding again six months post D&C/polyp removal. Turns out the polyps are back so I am scheduled for more surgery the week after next. I am so fed up of this. I thought being post menopausal would be sweet freedom but it isn't easy being a woman. Despite all that though I feel good. Low carb suits me and once I get the old gyne stuff sorted I should thrive!

I really fancy chowder today so I bought a mixed seafood yesterday and am going to rustle up a version without carrots and potatoes for later. One of my colleagues gave me a dozen duck eggs on Friday so lunch will be frittata with aspargus.

Have a great day and week ahead everyone.

Please could someone add me? My laptop has broken and I don't know how to cut and paste on my phone. Thank you. No spreadsheet.

Done!

Thesoundofmusic23 · 28/04/2024 20:51

Yay @BIWI - perfect timing 🙏

TheOnlyMrsW · 29/04/2024 09:19

I'm in - have been a bit lax the last few weeks and need a reset (which was supposed to happen this morning but need more than 3 hours sleep!!!). Not put on much weight per se but feel meh...............
Although it does coincide with the start of DD's A levels so not sure how I'm going to manage without gin 😂

LilianaVikavanovich · 29/04/2024 22:05

Have been completely off track and feel really puffy , all totally self inflicted

Back on track tomorrow , I promise myself …. As I have a week in Majorca in June
signing up for next Bootcamp now !

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 01/05/2024 16:45

I'll be away for most of the first week on a rare holiday.
I am still boot-camp-lite since last time at the moment and will join everyone as soon as I can once home again.

TheOnlyMrsW · 02/05/2024 17:28

Couple of good days, but I've been feeling like snacking which is very unlike me. Will make sure I've got bc snacks in so I don't just reach for toast or crackers.
Busy weekend - DH has a gig tomorrow night then off to stay with friends on Saturday and then Bruce on Sunday 😍😍😍, I'm beyond excited!!! Back Monday and then leaver's week for DD which I'm expecting to be stressy.
Going to start planning for bc when we get back so I can get a good start - it's when I'm not in control and don't have things ready

Thesoundofmusic23 · 02/05/2024 20:17

Good week here too although starving tonight - might be my new found gym habit 😮. Have never before been a gym person but following injury and illness last year I’m learning it has value. Hit a new all time low today too which was exciting. Expecting it to bob up again but hoping first two weeks of BC might help it stick better.

I posted something similar a while ago. I had battered calamari and afterwards my heart was pounding and I felt so tired I honestly struggled to get home! WHY do white carbs affect us so badly when we've not had them for a while? I genuinely don't understand...

poorbuthappy · 03/05/2024 12:55

Happy Friday all. When will the bloody ☀️ come out???!!!
Walked the dog this morning and it was like
bloody November. Proper cold. Wish I'd worn gloves.
So been up and down. But finally saw the weight start with a 10 which was very exciting!
But I'm going away this weekend to watch DH run the Belfast marathon on Sunday. I won't go mad but there will be wine.
And whatever I put on I will lose again.

Just had fried leeks, mushrooms and bacon in a double cream and Parmesan sauce thing. So quick and simple to make. I think I've had a variation on this theme every day I've been at home this week. I could eat it forever!
Looking forward to the next boot camp.
KOKO everyone and don't forget the water.

sheepdreams · 05/05/2024 07:40

@ Thesoundofmusic23 and Appalonia. Interesting that we have all experienced unpleasant effects when we have reverted to carbs. It makes me wonder if we get used to having a general feeling of malaise which we get used to and it’s not until we change to a low carb WOE that the impact of a ‘beige’ diet becomes more pronounced.

I was doing well with bootcamp light but then contracted an awful virus which left me feeling v sick🤢subsequently I’ve lost weight but expecting its return!

Looking forward to Bootcamp starting. Although I am having blips I truly want this to be a lifestyle change and not purely just for weight loss (although hopefully this will also happen).

I hope everyone has a good week.

Appalonia · 05/05/2024 09:56

I've started introducing some carbs back into my diet and so far I've stayed the same weight. However I'm noticing I'm a LOT more hungry ( and windy! ) 😂

alwaysonadiet1 · 06/05/2024 08:11

Morning all! I'm three weeks into low carb (very lite) with too much wine and 3 lb down. I will use this week to kick the wine habit and go in all guns blazing with everyone for bootcamp next Monday! Exciting to think I might be up to a stone down for my summer holiday in July. Smile

Hello lovely low carb bootcamp-ers

I've not been round much but am still KOKO, been in maintenance for ohh, good few years now and still enjoy hearing other peoples experiences and recipes. Very happy to be spreadsheet monitor for the next bootcamp.

I'll post more on the signup thread in response to some questions. Just wanted to reassure anyone who lives in fear of messing up any spreadsheet that I'm always happy to post your stats for you, just let me know here or in a PM if you prefer
