Afternoon!

Apologies for the late starting of the thread. Got distracted by the papers and the need to cook stuff for later on today!

Anyway here's the spreadsheet for its final outing on this Bootcamp.

It's been a quiet one this time around, but hopefully people have seen good results.

No idea when the next Bootcamp will be, so in the meantime, lets keep chatting on this thread.

Thanks @BIWI, I've tried the chips before with varying degrees of success but am game for another go at them tonight! We've got lamb kofta kebabs from a new meat delivery so looking forward to seeing how they are, breakfast was chorizo, peppers, cherry toms and spinach fried in butter, no eggs so added some cheese at the end. Still on lots of herbal tea rather as spring is showing no sign of appearing here - temp in single figures and wind chill is making it about 4 degrees, obviously rain as well sigh.......

Going to spend some time with the recipe threads this week for inspiration, we're in a bit of a rut so need a change. KOKO everyone!

I finally caved on Saturday night! I had a chicken burger and chips. But... today I weighed myself, expecting to have put on a few pounds and I'd lost a pound! Weird. I've been stuck at 10 stone 8/9 for ages. Can't explain it, but I'm very happy.

Last 2 nights I've had chicken breast stuffed with mascarpone cheese mixed with fresh thyme, parsley and garlic, wrapped in bacon, with steamed asparagus. Very delicious.

My goal was to lose a stone by mid April, I'm now just 1 pound away!

Just wanted to say, I'm so glad I started this in January, it's taken a while to lose weight, but I feel like I'm ready for summer, which is always when I wish I was thinner, and I've got so many lovely dresses and trousers I'll be able to fit into!

catwithflowers · 09/04/2024 21:36

Keeping going with Bootcamp Lite. Tonight's dinner was smoked basa fillet with Keto broccoli cheese and peas. Jolly nice and very filling. we won't mention the two glasses of wine consumed while cooking it 😂

Managing to maintain my recent loss despite a few rules bent over Easter. When the kids go back next week I’m thinking of going back to strict bootcamp rules for a few weeks to loose the next few pounds before the summer holidays. If anyone is doing similar I’m happy to check in here for support.

Yes, @Thesoundofmusic23. I'm planning on a few weeks of strict bootcamp as well. Well done for maintaining.

Morning everyone, have been awol since an incident with a dark chocolate egg on Easter Sunday and then a holiday with friends with little control over the food choices and all the wine but was back on plan yesterday and am already feeling better.

It's my last day off work today and our plans for a theme park day out have been scuppered as my mum is in hospital and I want to stay close to home in case we're needed. I've just been looking at bowling and, get this - almost £30 for 2 games for two people BUT only £20 if you have their deal which included burger and chips! Is it a wonder we're all fat?! I'll be buying the deal of course, but I won't have my burger and will eat before we go.

Got a food shop booked for tomorrow so this morning will be checking the cupboards and freezer and doing some serious meal planning to keep me on track while I get back into the swing of things.

Thanks for the chat and support thread!

Had Nigella's Meatza with an asparagus salad tonight

Trying to keep up a good variety of veg as I do tend to stick to the same few.

Do you just leave the breadcrumbs out or substitute with something else? Thanks.

Both :)
-I've done it leaving out the breadcrumbs - and it is fine (though dense).

-I have added ground almonds instead of breadcrumbs (when not on strict bootcamp) and this works very well. (The team here prefer this to breadcrumbs.)

Well done on the losses! I agree - summer is always exposure point.

How long and how did you cook the chicken breast?

alwaysonadiet1 · 11/04/2024 09:05

I will be starting on Saturday and I'm very determined to lose 2 stone before turning 50 in October. Smile

AllTheBlackCoffee · 11/04/2024 09:18

I have no real goal anymore, just to keep on going and seeing the weight drop. That said I do have a lovely dress that I wore on holiday a few years ago and I'll need to be at least a stone lighter to fit in it by the time we go abroad again in August.

Feeling cold today so planning Stilton and broccoli soup for lunch and a chicken curry with cauli rice for tea. Also back at work after almost a week off so feeling a bit rubbish about that and overwhelmed by the number of emails that have come in while I've been off.

LilianaVikavanovich · 11/04/2024 09:33

Well I have been an absolute idiot recently ( ate Easter egg , lost bit of filling , but did I learn from that ? No )

I will be back on strict Bootcamp from Monday , cutting down from today to ease back into it

@AllTheBlackCoffee I’m joining you on the fridge hunt , shopping list , planning 👍recipe perusal

Thesoundofmusic23 · 11/04/2024 15:23

Nice to have some travelling buddies for this next bit - no doubt inspiration and accountability helps. I’ve definitely wandered a bit off track recently so will be good to get back to strict camp rules for a bit and start loosing again.

I cooked it in my air fryer. So aprox 7 mins on one side, then turned it over for another 7. I guess it would be similar if you were cooking it in a regular oven, so about 20 mins.

Appalonia · 11/04/2024 17:47

I've discovered the most delicious dessert! Mascapone, with some liquid coffee ( was previously made in cafitiere so was cold, ).a bit of cream and some sweetner. So yum! Can also have it with some berries.

Appalonia · 11/04/2024 17:51

Went to supermarket today and bought a whole Camembert. Is so delicious cooked in the oven ( can pop garlic and thyme in it ) with celery, pepper and cucumber dipped in it. Feels v indulgent but is totally low carb!

AllTheBlackCoffee · 12/04/2024 09:02

Braved the scales this morning and pleased to report there's not much damage been done by my week off. I'm 2lb up on my lowest of the year but that only lasted a day so I don't think it really counts and I'm 1lb down on when I weighed just before Easter. I'll deffo take that though as usually any deviation would have seen me spiralling off, sometimes for months and gaining everything I've lost.

Onwards and downwards - 12st something, I'm coming for you!

alwaysonadiet1 · 13/04/2024 09:23

Starting today! Beginning with two days lowish carb so it's not a shock to the system then starting bootcamp rules on Monday. Last time I tried I gave up within days because I felt a bit queasy. Easing in gently today, hope it works...

AllTheBlackCoffee · 13/04/2024 09:34

Good luck @alwaysonadiet1 if you can get through the first few days you’ll feel much better. Lots of water and High 5 electrolyte tabs from Amazon will help!

Quiet weekend ahead, lots of jobs need doing so won’t have time to think about snacking. DH had touted a BBQ for this evening but the forecast has changed and it’s pretty grey here today. I had half planned to do a toad in the hole using a Yorkshire pud recipe I found over on Reddit, so if I do that il report back on how it goes.

alwaysonadiet1 · 13/04/2024 09:40

Thank you! Smile

UnOeufIsEnough · 13/04/2024 17:14

Have managed to resist my DD's chocolate birthday cake and pizza. She's 6 next week and I'd normally have fallen face first in, but a new lower weight on the scale this morning has kept the motivation up.

At a wedding yesterday - with buffet for lunch and dinner.

Mostly pastry and bread related items that looked good but were as carby as carby can be!

Getting better at this: I had breakfast beforehand, and then at the wedding feasts managed to assemble cold meats, stuffed eggs, + green salad (lightly dressed in something that didn't taste too sweet) from the table. When the many pretty desserts were offered - I enjoyed them with my eyes but I went back to the original table again for cheeses.

I did have a glass of wine and one of champagne but avoided the sweet soft drinks offered. (Much water was needed on return home.)

The wedding cake looked lovely (as they usually do) and I admired it... but those reporting said the taste was very sweet even for regular carb eaters. A sniff was rewarding enough :)

I had promised myself a good supper on return home - but was actually full enough.

The bonus was that I slept well afterwards too. This is now a huge motivating factor. It seems that lack of carbs = lack of need for Gaviscon at night for me.

Hi, I dropped off the last couple of threads after losing my mojo a bit due to illness and Easter. The scales are slowly heading in the right direction again but I have introduced some small allowances to make it more manageable on an ongoing basis. I am trying to add things rather than take away, so I have a long list of healthy things to make sure I eat in preference to grazing and getting drawn back to higher amounts of carbs.
