Afternoon!

Apologies for the late starting of the thread. Got distracted by the papers and the need to cook stuff for later on today!

Anyway here's the spreadsheet for its final outing on this Bootcamp.

It's been a quiet one this time around, but hopefully people have seen good results.

No idea when the next Bootcamp will be, so in the meantime, lets keep chatting on this thread.

I'm joining you this week @LilianaVikavanovich, @alwaysonadiet1 and others. I need to reset a bit, carbs have been creeping up and I'm starting to feel horribly bloated. Looking forward to being strict this week, and regaining some control.

LilianaVikavanovich · 15/04/2024 06:17

@Baystard @alwaysonadiet1 We’re off !
I’m off to step class and will be having a breakfast of scrambled eggs and mushrooms on my return

No idea of the rest of the day , as I was planning a shrubbery border last night rather than menu planning , but a trip to Tesco will be taking place

PurpleWhirple · 15/04/2024 06:48

Morning all. I missed the end of bootcamp due to being on holiday so I'm glad to stumble across this thread. I'm back from hols now but haven't weighed myself, head firmly in sand.

PurpleWhirple · 15/04/2024 06:49

I'm going to get up and do it now! I have been a bit off piste for a fortnight but starting again today

Magnolia82 · 15/04/2024 06:55

Morning all. I'm signing in for a few weeks of strict bootcamp.

Whicker · 15/04/2024 07:01

Seems like today is a psychological reset moment for lots of us - I’m joining back in too, please, after a couple of weeks of excess. I didn’t even enjoy it that much, I just really struggled to stop. But I feel bloated, can’t sleep, and my anxiety levels have rocketed, so today is a fresh start.

Thesoundofmusic23 · 15/04/2024 07:58

Morning all, I’m in too. Ffgy and cinnamon for breakfast and then I need to do a bit of a sort out in the kitchen following lots of overnight stays and short trips in the last few weeks. Will be good to get back on the LC path with you all. Haven’t decided about weighing this morning as also feeling bloated and annoyed at Easter wandering.

Whicker · 15/04/2024 08:17

Think I’m going to avoid weighing till the start of the next proper bootcamp. I always say that and end up weighing anyway though after a couple of weeks!

BIWI · 15/04/2024 08:59

Get on those scales @Whicker!

I don't know when I'm going to start the next Bootcamp yet, so you could be waiting for some time Smile

alwaysonadiet1 · 15/04/2024 09:01

Good morning and good luck to all the people getting back on track today.

Whicker · 15/04/2024 09:10

All the better for having time to lose what I will have gained in the past two weeks, @BIWI !

I usually feel able to face the scales after a week or two of low carb, when I get a sudden sense that it won’t look so disastrous that I’ll go into a spiral of weirdness.

Thesoundofmusic23 · 15/04/2024 09:40

I decided to brave the scales @Whicker . Decided it was better to know. 2.6lbs up in my lowest low. Less terrible than I expected and now I have a clear goal.

PiningForTheMoon · 15/04/2024 12:53

I still struggle to know how much food to eat and hunger/full signals.

I seem to be able to eat a lot of food which is why I need to lose weight.

I generally fast in the morning and eat a meal at lunchtime and another at dinner time.

How does this look for my brunch?

Baystard · 15/04/2024 13:26

That looks really tasty @PiningForTheMoon. I got delayed at work and had a big chunk of leftover cooked ham between two bits of presliced cheddar, filling and quite tasty but woefully lacking in veg (or imagination!)

I didn't get on the scales today @Whicker but I might brave them tomorrow.

BIWI · 15/04/2024 13:29

It looks OK @PiningForTheMoon - but how much fat is there on there? Have you got a dressing on the salad and the avocado? And is that sausage low carb?!

To be honest, though, it does look like quite a lot of food. If it were me, I'd have had one egg and would have dropped the cheese and sausage (and probably had a little more salad).

When you say it's 'brunch' do you mean that's your one meal this morning?

Oh - and also, edited to ask: what will you be eating for dinner? And how much water have you drunk so far?

OP posts:
PiningForTheMoon · 15/04/2024 13:48

Thanks for your appraisal @BIWI. EVOO on the salad, Mayo on the eggs. The sausage is Black Farmer. Yes, that’s my first meal of the day. I followed it with coffee and double cream.

I’ve drank 750ml water so far today.

Dinner will be roast chicken and roast pork (with crackling) with broccoli and leeks.

prettybird · 15/04/2024 16:16

I made the Beef and spinach shakshuka with a herby sauce last night (from the recipes on the Lidl website). It was a great success - will definitely be repeated Grin

I forgot to take a picture before I served up (and I also forgot to put the herby dressing on before I served up) but you get the sense of it from these pictures (dh and ds got the “better” eggs). I also did another single egg portion in another pan using quorn mince for ds’ veggie girlfriend.

Dh thought that the herby dressing (essentially just chopped parsley with lemon zest and juice and EVOO) would have been better with coriander - but ds’ girlfriend and I disagreed. Grin

Hi all

Can I join? I have recently lost my father to a heart attack and it has brought home the importance of looking after my health. I have read copiously to change my perception of eating fat! and would like to follow the bootcamp principles to lose 2 stone to get into a healthier BMI. I know bootcamp is finished but rather than wait for the next one I wanted to make a start today. I e followed bootcamp light today and starting full bootcamp tomorrow. Being able to post my on this thread will help. I have been reading through the old threads which are so motivational.

BIWI · 15/04/2024 17:01

Of course you can join us @sheepdreams - you're very welcome Smile

Thank you. Have managed well today and will post planned days menu tomorrow.

sheepdreams · 16/04/2024 09:34

Morning everybody posting on here for accountability!
Br: scrambled egg with cream and butter with gammon. (Felt very decadent) as I do t usually add anything.

Lu: planning baby cucumber and little gem lettuce leaves with pate.

Tea: pork chop with creamed swede and buttered cabbage!

low carb high fat sausage 1 - to snack on.

I will find the water intake difficult as coffee fiend but have herbal t- bags and slices of lemon at the ready to encourage me to drink more water.

Hope everyone’s day goes as planned😀

Thesoundofmusic23 · 16/04/2024 09:59

Sounds like a good day @sheepdreams . Ffgy and cinnamon for break here. Planning smoked salmon, poached eggs and guacamole for lunch and veg heavy bolognaise with Parmesan and a big portion of buttered spinach for supper.

TheOnlyMrsW · 16/04/2024 12:14

2 out of my 3 holiday lbs gone and back onto proper meal planning - I'm totally useless unless I've planned and tend to just reach for toast and easy things. Spinach, peppers, chopped tomatoes and chorizo fried in butter with a poached egg for breakfast, Bored of Lunch cheeseburger pasta for dinner - I've got broccoli and cauliflower ready cooked in the fridge and will put the sauce in the oven with them as a bake, carbies will have pasta and garlic bread!!!!
@sheepdreams I struggle with water, especially in winter - I'm in the cold north so still in single figures, scarves and hats here, I mainline herbal tea instead as a substitute and also to keep warm wfh! It's easier when warmer although I prefer sparkling to still. I've got 11lb to go to reach my goal which puts me in the healthy BMI and would love to get to that by the end of the summer for my BC anniversary!

sheepdreams · 16/04/2024 17:50

I’m in the cold north too. The weather has been relentless and I can’t even countenance cold water at the moment!
Hope your feeling confident about reaching your goal by the end of the summer.

LilianaVikavanovich · 16/04/2024 18:34

I’m in cold wet Wales , however , it’s been glorious this afternoon , so we went for a walk
Definitely needed some fresh air , as we’ve been painting the spare room

So , today
No breakfast , I just like a couple of black coffees
Lunch … bacon , cheese , mushroom and spring onion omlette with green salad and dressing
D roast chicken , with masses of buttery cabbage and creamed leeks
feeling pleasantly full now

I’m ok with drinking water, ( though I’d prefer wine 🍷)
