Morning all.

Here's the spreadsheet for its final outing

I hope that the last 8 weeks have been successful - and also enjoyable! - and I look forward to seeing the final results on the spreadsheet.

@Lougle I saw your update on the last thread, and I'm very, very pleased for you Flowers

The next Bootcamp will start at the end of July (I'll post a sign-up thread in a couple of weeks), but in the meantime, we'll keep this chat thread going.

Thanks @BIWI 😊

@StuntNun I used to use the thickening granules quite a lot. I can get a big tub from Makro or Costco. Thanks for the reminder.

StuntNun · 27/06/2022 08:18

I can't wait to hear how everyone has done.

ZiggZagg · 27/06/2022 08:26

STS this week which means I'm 6lb down this bootcamp- wish I hadn't have messed around but will continue this WOE and stay here and be accountable!

Hope everyone has a good last weigh in Smile

Baystard · 27/06/2022 08:48

Thanks for another great bootcamp @BIWI.

Well done to everyone for losing/eating well/breaking old habitats/KOKO-ing.

I've lost some weight (about 7lb) but more importantly I've learned how to get back on the wagon when I have slipped and I've weighed every morning even when I thought it would be bad - both are new things for me and represent a better relationship with my weight and food.

mondaywin · 27/06/2022 08:51

I have been lurking since around week 2 and have lost exactly a stone, a couple of inches from thighs and waist and this way of eating has made a huge difference to my newly acquired 'meno-pot belly'.

Have taken lots of inspiration from this thread, well done and thankyou all!

Lougle · 27/06/2022 08:56

Well done @Baystard and @mondaywin ! For me it's not just the weightloss but how I feel in myself. I feel so much more comfortable after a meal. I'm realising gradually that I stop being hungry significantly before I stop eating, so my appetite is adjusting.

BIWI · 27/06/2022 09:08

Some great results on the spreadsheet! Special mention must go to @loopylou3030 and @MrsBobBlackadder for their losses of 17.6lbs and 17lbs respectively Flowers

Thank you @BIWI and all you lovely Bootcampers. I feel much better on the WoE and once again, fit comfortably into the 'top end' of my 'normal' clothes.

There is still some considerable way to go for me but I'm really enjoying not feeling 'hangry' when I haven't eaten for a few hours and not feeling lethargic after a meal. Continue to ask my self 'how will I feel once I've eaten this' before consuming anything, sometimes even before I buy it.

As an indulgence with the money I've saved by not buying so called treats / takeaways, I've treated myself to a blood sugar sensor. Fascinating to see just how stable my blood sugar is on LCHF even through regular 16:8 IF.

I've been weighing myself once a month and reminding myself that the scales are just one indicator amongst many. I care much more about volume than weight

Hoping others will be around in this thread to bridge the gap til the next bootcamp.

Onwards and downwards and KOKO

APerfectlyGoodName · 27/06/2022 09:33

Another naughty weekend here Blush so up a few lb on the scale. I was 160.8 during the week but 164 this am - so I'll do what I've done other Monday, be super duper for a day and post the reality tomorrow. Either number is down from my start of 171 so feeling great.

Congratulations all.

loopylou3030 · 27/06/2022 10:01

Down to 200 pounds so lost 22 in total. Not bad considering I had a 3 day hen do, wedding, my Birthday and our Wedding anniversary. Going for it now hope to get under 200 by the end of the week! Thanks for the motivation.

MrsBobBlackadder · 27/06/2022 10:19

Thank you @BIWI 😊 I've not been posting on these threads during boot camp but I have been following them all closely. I've done low carb a few times and it's always worked well for me, but this has been the most successful for me thanks to all the motivational support from everyone Flowers

IveNeverTriedThisBefore · 27/06/2022 10:36

Hi all,

I am down to 10stone 9lbs. Only half a pound this week but have my period and was out of house all weekend, so tried to eat low carb as much as possible

So total loss of 10lbs for me. I really want to keep on going though as I would like to lose more. I will be here for the ongoing chats for anyone else who is

I tried on a few dresses at the weekend and apart from 2 they all fitted me. Including a dress my mum gave me which has huge sentimental value and havent been able to wear it in ages, so very happy with that!

IveNeverTriedThisBefore · 27/06/2022 10:36

Thanks to @BIWI and to all who kept me going!

Lougle · 27/06/2022 10:39

Well done to you all! I'm going to hang around, too, I think.

What are thoughts on spice mixes in dishes? I had a recipe that used Thai spice mix, but looking on the back it was 56% carbs and the first ingredient was sugar. So I made up my own mix but it wasn't quite 'Thai'.

TheRealShedSadie · 27/06/2022 12:10

Thank you so much @BIWI and all those on here keeping the motivation going! 10 lb loss for me and I feel so much better.

I’ll be keeping up this way of eating for sure. It’s massively helped with bloating, energy and enjoyment of the food I’m eating. Hope everyone is crossing the finish line with a well deserved sense of achievement.

Well done everyone!

BIWI · 27/06/2022 13:22

A big thank you, as well, to @Baystard for manning (womanning?) the spreadsheet Flowers

@Lougle Thai food in general does seem to call for sugar in many of its recipes - even if you're cooking from scratch.

The lesson is always to check the labels, on everything. I remember being shocked to discover that my jar of Chinese 5 Spice had sugar in it.

This is the ingredients list of the Schwartz one - note that sugar is the first ingredient!

Sugar,
Salt,
Onion Granules,
Dried Garlic Granules (12%),
Ground Star Anise (10%),
Ground Ginger (5%),
Ground Fennel Seed,
Ground Cinnamon (Cassia) (4%),
Black Pepper (3%),
Ground Cloves

... which is indicated by the fact that it's called Chinese 5 Spice Seasoning - but of course I doubt many people would realise that means it's not just spices.

(This is Sainsbury's own version list of ingredients:

Star Anise, Cinnamon, Fennel Seeds, Black Pepper, Clove)

I've lost an amazing (for me) 6.5lbs this week. I do tend to STS and then suddenly lose in a whoosh, but I'm still a bit surprised by the size of this loss.

I've enjoyed being a bit accountable. Posting my weight every Monday has been a good discipline. I've also tried to focus on eating more unprocessed foods (thanks to @BIWI for waving her stick). It's been good to get some ideas from other people's food diaries too.

I'll keep on eating low carb and join again in July. I have a lot of weight still to lose and for me this has to be a long-term WOE.

Newlease · 27/06/2022 14:45

Hello all.. Thanks for the new thread BIWI< hope you had a lovely holiday.! And well done @Lougle and others who lost so much, especially @Lucienandjean 6.5 in a week wow!!
I am down to 63.7 kg, that is 12.2 lbs lost in this bootcamp, on my 7th week. getting into old clothes and feeling better :) Learned a lot this time, and I am getting more used to not eating carb this time than last BC (where I somehow wanted to loose weight for a holiday) I am going to stick around as much as possible as I have another 3-4 kgs to loose, for sure. Would be a struggle for me to continue during holidays as traditionally our food is carb based, and it took me so much time to adjust to this woe is for life, rather than jumping back to carb after BC.

comfortablyfrumpy · 27/06/2022 18:02

I weighed myself this morning and had gone up from last week 😭. Don't know why, but I felt a bit bloaty when I got up. So I am going to try again tomorrow and hope it was a blip!
Even if this morning is right, I still will have ended up 1 St 4lb down since Easter so that is a good start! I think that would be 11lb since start of bootcamp but need to check :)

Bananajam · 27/06/2022 21:04

I have STS but I don't think I've been drinking enough water, I've been getting leg cramps which is a sure sign of dehydration. I feel slimmer though, I've definitely dropped a dress size and I'm now a very comfortable 12 rather than edging on a 16 so I'm thrilled! I am definitely going to keep going!
Congratulations to everyone! Its been a fascinating read over the 8 weeks and I'm so happy i stuck with it.

Lougle · 27/06/2022 21:21

Well done everyone! It's so good to hear the success stories.

@Bananajam you might be lacking a bit of sodium if you're getting leg cramps.

Is anyone still going to post their food diary? I think I will.

B - Greek yoghurt, clotted cream, raspberries.
L - lettuce, tomato, goats cheese
D - left over roast veg omelette.

Fluids: 3 cups of tea. 2l water. Need to drink more.

DearieMeWhatsUp · 27/06/2022 21:44

I've been lurking for ages and on previous BCs under different user names. I've lost about 7lbs, now at 12 stone ish, but I've noticed more of a difference in my waist and face than the scales infer. It's always really slow going for me though. Really enjoyed following these threads and may actually post on the next BC!

No breakfast as never do
Lunch - chicken, cucumber and avocado sandwich on SLC bread
Dinner - prawns with pak Choi, mushroom and courgette

Need to be better with water.

My goal - to lose 1 stone before starting TTC number 2 in a couple of months.

I think this suggests you need to supplement your diet with electrolytes - especially magnesium.

Try taking something like Zero by High5

Firstly thanks to Biwi for her ongoing commitment to us all !

I have lost 7 lb , but I feel , and the looseness of my clothes especially trousers , make me feel as if I have lost more

so my skin is great !
no more hangry
I’m also managing to stop when full
dp started too which makes food planning easier
I can IF until 1230 each day
I just generally feel better and more energetic

i will koko until the next boot camp
I am away the beginning of sept so that gives me a date to work to

well done to everyone , it seems we all have positive stories to tell , even if the loss has been small .

koko and keep drinking the water
