Sorry for the late start.

Here's the spreadsheet for you to confess all!

A quick peek shows some really good early results, with @UnOeufIsEnough and @loopylou3030 both hitting the half stone mark. Brilliant! Flowers

Back on track with fluid now, thanks to the lemon slices.

UnOeufIsEnough · 09/05/2022 15:46

That's a good idea...adding lemons to the shopping list!

Rayna37 · 09/05/2022 15:52

For Lougle and general public service announcement (!) Greek Style yogurt is usually higher in carbs than Authentic Greek, 4.4 is quite high particularly if you eat a lot; nothing to lose sleep over but worth considering, eg Fage Total 5% is only 3g I think and there are plenty under 4g in most supermarket own brand premium ranges. I think Greek Style is nicer tbh or at least a good gateway in if you've been used to flavoured yogurts but it's obviously better if you can transition over to Greek. Other alternatives are the Yeo Valley "Kerned" yogurt in the green pot, which is 3.5g carbs and often on offer I should be on commission. I'm happy enough with the 5% fat yogurts as I tend to eat it as pudding rather than a breakfast replacement- it doesn't have to keep me full! Plenty of 10% options out there though and remember to read the label and keep trying them until you find one you really like! They are definitely not all the same. I often shop in Aldi but I don't like their Greek yogurt, but as it has a long shelf life I just stick up when I'm elsewhere and ideally also on offer!

Lougle · 09/05/2022 16:28

Thanks @Rayna37 I looked hard at Lidl today, but I didn't expect mixed tray skullduggery, so I'll have a look more closely next time I go over there.

FarTooFat · 09/05/2022 16:30

@prettybird - I added your info. It had you as something else last week, but I think there were some rogue figures from an early sorting of the spreadsheet.

BestIsWest · 09/05/2022 16:31

Aldi do the mixed tray thing in all sorts of things not just yoghurt. I’ve fallen foul of it many times.

prettybird · 09/05/2022 16:35

Thank you @FarTooFat Flowers

UnOeufIsEnough · 09/05/2022 16:41

B: boiled eggs and butter
L: courgette soup, salami, boiled egg
D: cod fried in butter, mashed neeps, tenderstem broccoli (with a bit more butter for good measure!)

BIWI · 09/05/2022 16:42

Lol at 'mixed tray skullduggery'! Grin

Aldi and Lidl both do that, I've noticed

@Lougle vivid dreams are a common side effect when you first go low carb!

TheOnlyMrsW · 09/05/2022 17:40

@IveNeverTriedThisBefore I've been having night sweats pretty much every day but put it down to the warmer weather (in the chilly North so we're talking 12-14 during the day, nothing tropical!!!!) but it may be down to the water getting rid of crap from my system....
3 of my huge cups of herbal tea, a coffee with milk and 2l water means that I'm done with fluids before tea - hooray! @Sunseed I'm loving the sticker idea, DD is 16 but still loves getting a sticker so may try it 😁
Rump steak panfried in butter for dinner with lots of roast veggies, DH is having a bit of a carb revolt so will probably have to do something potato-ish for him!

CrystalTits · 09/05/2022 17:43

Afternoon all, 2lbs down after week 1 - very happy to be back on the straight and narrow. Had asian salmon last night with tenderstem, and cauliflower mash mixed with Boursin and butter. Lots of deliciousness planned for the week ahead - pork belly for the first time ever (any tips?), moussaka leftovers, and whatever else LC I can stuff down my greedy neck. KOKO friends!

Baystard · 09/05/2022 17:56

Office day today and bought a simple LC lunch - 200g packet of very nice gruyer! It was wonderful, I must have been hungry as I ate it all 😯Also had 1 litre black coffee and 500ml water so guzzling the fizzy water now to get to my 2litres.

Rectifying the veg position tonight - have a huge bowl of cauliflower and butter ready for shoogling. Will accompany with a bit of casserole but to be honest I doubt I need any more protein after all that cheese so I'll concentrate on veg!

teraculum29 · 09/05/2022 18:34

Forgotten to weigh myself this morning before work. Will do tomorrow morning.
I must have lost something as my work uniform felt looser.
Breakfast:
2 eggs, 2 ementeral cheese slices, 2 polish gherkins in brine.
dinner
4 fried eggs, with spinach and leeks and cheddar cheese.
mixed salad with mayo..

Been at work so had flask of buletproof coffee, flask of redbush tea and plenty of water.

glamourousindierockandroll · 09/05/2022 18:36

Been crap with veg today.

L- chicken parmo leftover
T- cheese omelette

Lougle · 09/05/2022 18:43

I love seeing all your lovely meals! I need to do the hard boiled egg thing tomorrow, I think.

Today:
B - Greek 'style' yoghurt 😉with double cream. I weighed it today and realised I've been having about 200g! So I was more sensible today. Does anyone else find that it spoons so easily, though?

L - baby leaf salad leaves, olives, pan-fried halloumi, avocado, baby plum tomatoes and cucumber.

D - Tuscan chicken (spinach, tomatoes, cream)

Fluid: 3 X 750ml water, 4 cups tea with almond milk.

Livelongandprosper · 09/05/2022 18:49

The cat and I weigh ourselves together now on a Monday morning.
She's not low carbing but the vet insisted she lose 5lbs - I've been carefully weighing her food for quite a few weeks.
This morning when we weighed ourselves she has lost 1lb!
I posted my weightloss earlier and it only seems fair to post hers too.

Hi all. I stayed the same. Bit disappointing but completely my own fault given how shit my office days were last week. I'm properly on it today though. Really trying to drink more water as well. Luckily I like plain water!

Newlease · 09/05/2022 19:14

@Baystard don't worry about it at all, found my logs on phone and entered on new one, so all good. BTW when did you hair lose started, mine has been only loosing so much for two weeks now, a bit strange that I almost put a dead end to LC after last bootcamp due to various reasons (and put on most of it back ). I should do the Lemon + salt water from tomorrow..
Good first day here, had lunch at 13:15, so Long window after dinner. 2 fried eggs. dinner: chicken fried with veggies (not much choice now, need to refill the fridge). Lovely to see the SV and NSV everyone.. @Livelongandprosper lovely to have company to weigh in in the mornings..

Lougle · 09/05/2022 19:15

@Livelongandprosper good job! Bootcamp mascot mog.

I'm going to start a little section called 'Lidl lessons learned' if that's ok. Feel free to contribute.

Lidl lessons learned - chapter 1
~They mix pots on the same tray. You can not reliably look at the front row of the tray to see if they have 10% authentic yoghurt. You must search deep.

~When a bag of spinach is called 'unwashed spinach', they are telling you something. It hasn't been washed. So when you hurriedly tip it in to your pan, don't be surprised if your dinner is a bit gritty.

~Similarly 'thigh portions' rather than 'thighs' is telling you something. In this case, they have bashed the chicken with a cleaver in the general direction of the thigh. This is why you see rib cage, feathers, the odd parson's nose and a fair smattering of cartilage.

Here ends chapter 1.

Baystard · 09/05/2022 19:23

@Lougle Lidl can be a bit hit and miss but a few months ago they were doing an offer on sirloin roasts at £15/kg and it was lovely British beef with lots of fat marbling so I can forgive them just about everything else 😁

They also do packets of salmon trimmings that are lovely and very cheap - it's trimmings from 'nice' salmon that is really well cured.😋

Upontherooftops · 09/05/2022 19:27

Can I join please? I started a day or so late as I only saw the bootcamp thread on Tuesday. I have 30 kilos to lose which is about 4.5 stone I think and I weighed in with a 2.1 kg/4.6lb loss this morning. I'm struggling with headaches and tiredness since Friday which I guess is the carb flu you all mention. I'd really like that to go away now! I can't take the electrolyte tablets as they trigger migraines in me and I'd rather tolerate the headaches than end up with actual migraines. I am using the lo salt and the occasional cup of hot Marmite so I'm hoping those will help.

Today I've had
B - 2 fried eggs
L - chicken breast with a bag of kale baked with olive oil and seasoning as a fake crispy seaweed
D - chicken traybake with asparagus and cauliflower.
Have snacked on salami and a small piece of strong cheddar.

4 mile walk this morning

Lougle · 09/05/2022 19:29

Welcome @Upontherooftops 😊

You also need to search the tray below, if there is more than one level Shock
