Here's a link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness lovingly managed by @ouchmyfeet.

I've added a couple of names that I've spotted this evening, but they're at the bottom of the list not alphabetised - if your name isn't on the list, add yours at the bottom, and we'll re-alphabetise it once we get going.

@BSky Amazon sells some vanilla powder that has no sugar and is quite nice.

LoCarbLife · 22/01/2022 21:31

Thank you for your tips, @Mimosa1 and @Hopeislost. They're really helpful, and it's reassuring to know that you're relying on similar sources to me, @Hopeislost. I've been wondering if I'm taking in enough. It seems there's deliberately no guidance on macros with this WOE, which I imagine is so we don't get hung up on it!!

FinallyHere · 22/01/2022 21:43

Walk first thing today. Wondered why I don't do that every day.

B IF
L Waitrose tribute pate, two SLC rolls slices as if they each were a loaf and toasted.
50:50 double creme and plain yoghurt sprinkled with cinnamon. Curious to try this, so many bootcampers mentioned it. Delicious.
D crab, avocado, gem lettuce, spring onion, celery, 50:50 Mayo creme fraiche
A few drops of Tabasco just to wake up the tastebuds. Delicious but I only managed half.

Finally, full 3.5l water plus large latte glass butter mint tea.

Didn't start drinking water til I got home from the walk at lunch ish time. Time spent visiting the loo : considerable.

NigellaAwesome · 22/01/2022 22:40

@Oneborneverydecade, on the milk front, I tend to go for a blend of unsweetened almond milk and unsweetened soya. The soya adds just a bit of smoothness and froths better.

StuntNun · 22/01/2022 22:48

@LoCarbLife we don't count macros on Bootcamp but it would be 5-10% carbs, 20-30% protein, 65% fat until you get close to your goal weight at which point fat intake should rise to at least 70%.

MrsGarethSouthgate · 22/01/2022 22:55

@BIWI and @venusandmars - thanks very much. I feared this would be the case, only spotted the ingredients list today after taking them all week as it’s on the inside of the peel-off sticker. I will have to go back to the bullet-sized hard tablet alternative instead sob

BSky · 22/01/2022 23:31

@Mimosa1 - thank you will have a look at vanilla powder

DearZoom · 23/01/2022 08:18

Wow… I’ve just weighed myself and I’ve lost 7lbs!
At this rate I’ll be at my target weight by the end of boot camp! Grin

YesIcan3 · 23/01/2022 08:30

I have weighed myself this morning as busy Monday rush, soo here's 7lb down Grin I'm so happy!
Well done to everyone else too!

Random789 · 23/01/2022 08:34

I may have already missed some useful suggestions as the thread is so fast moving, but does anybody have any tips for non-dairy desserts? I keep buying greek yoghurt and mascarpone so that I cn have a nic comforting treat after my dinner, but the two problems with that are

  1. I can't stop myself eating much too much of them at once, which makes me feel a terrible failure
  2. I want to reduce my reliance on dairy, as I have a hunch it ight not be very good for me.

The only other dessert-type I have is Montezuma 100% choc, which is useful, but is there anything else?

On the upside, despite eating waayy too much mascarpone and greek yog, I do feel very full of energy today, whichi think is a result of cutting radically down on carbs and having a week without alcohol.

Random789 · 23/01/2022 08:36

Congrats on the weight losses, YesIcan and dearzoom!!

Runninghorse · 23/01/2022 08:44

@Random789. Do you just eat the marscapone and Greek yogurt mixed together or do you add something else?

prettybird · 23/01/2022 08:46

@DearZoom and @YesIcan3 - great losses Smile

Remember that there is usually but not always, for those that don't get it Wink a big initial whoosh as your body releases the water from its glycogen stores. Thereafter weight loss will settle down to 1-2lb a week or less Hmm , which is the norm for all safe weight loss regimes. And there is also the notorious stall of Weeks 3, 4 and/or 5 when there may be no loss at all, or even a small gain Shock

@Random789 - not for strict Boot Camp, but what about chocolate mousse? @StuntNun posted a link earlier and I also like my "chocolat and cardamom pots" (although it does have a wee bit of milk in it) - the recipe is in the desserts recipe thread.

BSky · 23/01/2022 08:53

Congrats to @YesIcan3 and @DearZoom on weight loss 🥳

I’m in a similar place to you @Random789 - I love dairy but have to watch quantities. Been helpful this week as I’ve not felt deprived in anyway as so satiated but will look to be bit more balanced this week. (Although I hadn’t thought of mascarpone so that might be something for this weeks shopping list!)

Not helpful for this week but berries with cream/yog is nice. Also a spoonful or two of crunchy peanut butter sorts me for dessert (sometimes on couple squares of dark choc)

I have slept better this week and bloating subsiding with drinking more water.

Willlow · 23/01/2022 09:00

Wow YesIcan and Dearzoom what great losses. That's a fantastic start.

@StuntNun you mentioned earlier a raspberry and lemon tea you add to sparkling water, what brand is it? I had a quick look when I was shopping but couldn't find it.

AllTheBlackCoffee · 23/01/2022 09:09

Morning campers!!

Am so proud of myself for my rather excellent food choices when I was out last night. We had a load of nibbles for starters so I just ate a fucktonne of olives, then had a huge chargrilled chicken breast in garlic butter, half a huge roast tomato, a mushroom and swapped chips for a lovely dressed salad. When the others were tucking into pudding, I had a decaf brandy coffee. I did have a gin and slim and half a bottle of wine (week 3, week 3, week 3) but my food was impeccable Smile.

I'm not feeling too ropey this morning after drinking and I really did enjoy the wine but I'm going to go back to Dry January til the 31st (DH's birthday so we always do one day short) and have no desire to carry on drinking.

Will be interesting to see what the scales say tomorrow but for today I'm going to make sure I have loads of lovely fat and water, water, water!!!

AllTheBlackCoffee · 23/01/2022 09:11

@Willlow Twinings do a lovely raspberry and lemon tea which could work in cold water. I get it from Sainsbury's.

Welcome to 2022's first Low Carb Bootcamp!
LizzyBennett · 23/01/2022 09:17

Morning all!

@ilovecherries I hope your, ahem, digestive issues are improved today.

That's a shame @CeleriacOfTheNight - I had high hopes

Today the plan is:

B - IF so, black coffee and water

L - leftover sprouts and halloumi. I used the recipe posted up thread and ha d it with a Greek yoghurt/double cream mix that had mint sauce stirred through. Was delicious.

D - Roast chicken with salsa verde and a FLGV.

Hope everyone has a good day

DollyDingleberry · 23/01/2022 09:19

Morning all,

I jumped on the bandwagon and had cinnamon in my yoghurt this morning - lovely!

B: cinnamon yoghurt and cream, creamy coffee

L: broccoli and Stilton soup

D: Lasagne (pasta for DH, aubergine for me)

My enormous water bottle broke last night so I’ve got to focus on water today!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 23/01/2022 09:20

Morning campers!

I've been quietly reading along, enjoying everyone's posts.

I'm doing ok, but really have been following BC Lite this weekend. I really struggle with it, now that it's not a novelty (probably ADHD here).

Doing dry Jan as well, which makes me feel great in the day, & twitchy on weekend evenings.

The weight is still going down, but slowly.

I'm sticking with you, but won't post much during strict bootcamp.

Random789 · 23/01/2022 09:23

Thanks for the tips so far. And I han't twigged there was a desserts recipe thread so i will def check that out.

Runninghorse, I usually eat greek yog entirely on its own, on the grounds that I shouldn't mess with perfection Grin

Mascarpone I usually eat with a sprinkle of cocoa powder. Or, in non-bootcamp days ,with lemon juice laced with fake sugar.

Willlow · 23/01/2022 09:37

@AllTheBlackCoffee Thanks, look forward to trying it.

DollyDingleberry · 23/01/2022 09:38

So a weird one,

I’ve been bleeding for 9 months none stop since the birth of my son. I have PCOS. All investigations (bloods, scan etc) have come back normal (although iron v.low).

After 6 days on low carb, my bleeding has stopped.

Now, my PCOS generally does improve on LC. I got pregnant in the first place by using low carb to get my cycle back down from 70 days to 30 days consistently.

Is it possible that going low carb has done something to my hormonal balance and stopped the bleeding this quickly?

YesIcan3 · 23/01/2022 09:46

These are for cold water too!

DearZoom · 23/01/2022 09:59

Don’t worry at @prettybird . I’m not really expecting more than about 1lb a week from now on. It’s nice to have that initial woosh though. Even if it is just proof that my diet was absolutely dire before Grin
