Here's a link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness lovingly managed by @ouchmyfeet.

I've added a couple of names that I've spotted this evening, but they're at the bottom of the list not alphabetised - if your name isn't on the list, add yours at the bottom, and we'll re-alphabetise it once we get going.

@ToddlingForwards ( fab cabbage by the way ) and @RagzReturnedUnwrapped as a much older housewife , DD ( 24 ) and I decided to grow our own broccoli supply
After picking 24 ( yes 24 ) caterpillars 🐛 off one plant with my bare hands , I decided to just buy it from Tesco and put the plants on the compost heap ( shudders just thinking about the creepy little things )
Still have to give broccoli a really good look before I wash and cook it

Theghostofchristmasarse · 18/01/2022 21:27

Finally caught up with the thread. I've done bootcamps before and stuck to some of the WOE but I've struggled the last couple of years, separated from DH and become really skint, cooking just for myself means on nights like tonight, when home late and both kids aren't in bed till late, I can't be bothered. I could so easily just eat toast for tea. But I've put on loads of weight die to also drinking too much and not being able to get out to run like I used to. Determined to lose the 1st extra I've put on in the last year. I'm short so it looks more like 3..
Struggling with water, busy day teaching. Plus it's bloody freezing in school, I drink more in hot weather. Will really try tomorrow though. Vernon dry Jan with far too many fizzy sugary drinks, trying to do herbal teas and low cal tonic with lime instead.
Food today..
B: Greek yoghurt
S: tuna mayo and celery
L: chicken, salad, mayo
S: boiled egg
D: spinach, mushrooms and egg in butter

Will do better with water and veg tomorrow promise!

RagzRebooted · 18/01/2022 21:34

@DollyDingleberry that water bottle is the size of a baby seal! I find my 1l one cumbersome, though it is glass (tastes much better) so heavy anyway. You could definitely double it up as a strength training prop. Bonus being as your arms tire you can drink the water to make it lighter.

ThePrionOne · 18/01/2022 21:41

Only slept four hours due to a very stressful case at work, forgot I had to get up to make breakfast and ended up eating prawns and mayo at 7am. Forgot to take lunch (have set the alarm clock earlier for tomorrow, so had dinner as soon as I got home (chicken legs with skin and salad of tomatoes, pepper and lettuce, with curry mayo). Then I felt hungry, so I had smoked salmon and cheese and then tuna mayo with more lettuce. Completely bloated. Pretty disastrous day, though I did, at least, stay low carb.

Tomorrow will be better. Fingers crossed I sleep tonight.

ZiggZagg · 18/01/2022 21:58

All this talk of cabbage makes me crave it

Fasted a bit longer than intended today, ended up just having dinner of burritos, with loads of salad and cheese, using a low dough tortilla. But I do tend to fast regularly anyway and have drank all my water and then some (and coffee) today!

@ShagMeRiggins just to keep you up to date, the vibration plate is a workout I can deal with Grin it seems to shake some stress away and my muscles feel looser, not sure about the effect on weight loss yet but I'll keep you posted!

Benvolio · 18/01/2022 22:19

@BIWI thank you very much for asking if I would like to be added to the spreadsheet. I think I'll just hover on the threads please and keep track on an app I've got.

Benvolio · 18/01/2022 22:23

I have a craving for French onion soup too now!

BSky · 18/01/2022 23:18

Checking in…
X2 tea, x1 coffee & cream, x2 herbals. Some water but not enough.
L: green soup, lettuce wrap with cheese & pate & celery
D: chilli with veg & spinach, cheese, FF Greek yoghurt

NigellaAwesome · 18/01/2022 23:24

Welcome back @ilovecherries and 💐. That sounds really rough.

Food today:
B: fried egg & 1/2 avocado
L: Eating out was poached egg, bacon, sausage and token tomato. It was the best choice there was. Decaf soy latte tasted suspiciously sweet.
D: homemade chicken burgers, sautéed fennel & garlic, loads of mange tout with homemade mayo.

I'm so pleased the buttermint news has been well received. I was determined I wasn't going to be caught out with them discontinuing it again, so bought this:

Welcome to 2022's first Low Carb Bootcamp!
APerfectlyGoodName · 19/01/2022 01:00

A quickie!
B. Creamy coffee
B2. Eggs, broccoli and blue cheese (11am)
S. Mushroom soup(2pm)
L. Mince tomatoes leaves.(4pm)
D. Salmon green salad, coleslaw.(7pm)

@BIWI
I called them B and L, but I'm not hungry first thing. I just love my coffee. Then I have an omelette at 11.

I'm a little pleased as I work Monday& Tuesday, and I prepped lunch AND remembered to bring it with me to work.
Also I hosted a graduation party for my niece this evening & I skipped
Lasagne, bread, pasta, rice, potato, pavlova, cake, wine.
I'm trying not to get too ahead of myself, but so far so good.

I'm loving all the food ideas, many thanks, though they are making me a bit hungry. G'night all.

DollyDingleberry · 19/01/2022 05:39

I weigh daily and this morning I’m 1.9lbs down, which means I officially lost twice as much in 24 hours of low carb than I did in 14 days of weight watchers... much of that will be water but still!

DollyDingleberry · 19/01/2022 05:52

Todays food:

B: Greek yog and cream, cream coffee a bit later

L: chicken (yesterday’s roast leftovers), bacon and avocado salad with Mayo and oil

D: beef stroganoff - I’ll make it in the instant pot this morning ready for later and do DH some rice for his and add extra cream to mine to serve.

Water water water. I managed 3 litres yesterday so I’m going for 4 today.

Random789 · 19/01/2022 06:51

Lol at grass-fed cabbage Grin

I'm sorry for not keeping up with the thread yesterday -- it is so fast moving.

I was rather snacky yesterday, due to stress and an absence of meal planning:

Breakfast: 2-egg omlette with cheese and cauliflower
Lunch: Ricotta straight from the tub Blush and a hunk of cheddar Blush
Dinner: Ostrich steak with loads of sprouts and swede
Snacks: olives
Beverages: Tea, coffee, bovril. Tried to keep the milk out of the tea and coffee when I could.

Didn't drink much water. It is v hard when its so cold.

Random789 · 19/01/2022 06:57

Oh, fShockck - forgot the whole tub of greek yoghurt that accidentally fell into my mouth after dinner.

I have acquired a pair of 'target trousers,' by the way. They are Calvin Klein, from TKMaxx. Oringinal price allegedly £114. Selling price £13. Grin. I think the only people who paid the full price would have been the women in Absolutely Fabulous.

They fit just about, but are so tight at the waist that the popper pops open and the button is in danger of bursting off. So my target will be to take the pressure off them

Pleaseandthankyou · 19/01/2022 07:40

Nice to see you again @NigellaAwesome. Please keep us updated as to how long that stash is lasting you. I have never seen it in my small local supermarket. I must venture further afield. Breakfast was two eggs scrambled with lots of butter and some vintage cheddar. Tipped into a small china mug that I have already heated with hot water . I hate cold scrambled eggs 😀

LizzyBennett · 19/01/2022 07:53

Good morning

I forgot to check in yesterday but kept on plan. I made a low carb 'lasagne' that wasn't great. I skimped on tomatoes because of the carb count but really missed them. I don't know if I need to tweak the recipe or wait until I'm fully adjusted and see if I can fully taste/appreciate them then. I had them with buttery courgette and sprouts which were delicious.

Today will be
B - 16:8 so just water and black coffee
L - Lasagne and green salad
D - Last of the lasagne with courgette, green pepper and green beans.

And 4 litres of water. It's not as difficult to drink all of it as I'd feared but I'm looking forward to less trips to the loo!

Jollyholibobs · 19/01/2022 07:58

Delighted to have caught up on the thread.
Flowers for you @ilovecherries sorry for your tough time.

Busy day ahead as I need to clear the decks at work so I can have 3 days off for my skiing jaunt. Currently just drained my second glass of water and first black coffee with a warm purring cat on my lap. Best part of the day.

B black coffee( established IFer)
L left over cauliflower curry with M&S prawns that needs eating up
D stir fry veg with sesame oil and omelette (using up the veg drawer before I go away)
Water, water, water

Have a lovely day everyone.

venusandmars · 19/01/2022 08:06

Working away from home - woke up at 5am because the hotel room was too hot and also the curtains weren't dark enough, so I used the time to read through almost 2 days of posts. Phew!

Enjoying the cabbage love. I once had a tasting menu ins restaurant and I swear the best dish was confit hispi cabbage. Just that - a fried wedge of confit cabbage and some cultured butter. It was amazing.

Trying to navigate round food away from home. Had eggs for breakfast yesterday but was dissapointed that there were onoy sandwiches for lunch. My client is aften lowcarb and his PA gets all kinds of suitable M&S delights. However he's currently following his doctor's advice and is low calorie, low fat. So the sandwiches were mean little things anyway. At least I get supplied with a huge teapot of peppermint tea. Dinner out was much better - a seafood platter, followed by cheese and biscuits.

I'll go for a larger breakfast this morning and skip lunch, on maybe see if I can nip into M&S. And dinner out looks like a menu with good choices - so probably chicken and lots of veg.

Nice to see @ilovecherries hoping that taking control of your food on this woe helps you fit a little more in control in general.

Will be reading but possibly no chance to post again till Friday. By which time we will have collectively lost loads of weight Grin

Fleecy · 19/01/2022 08:18

Did a sneaky extra weigh in this morning and another pound down since Monday. Smile

B: three eggs scrambled in butter with veg and a splash of cream
L: leftover beef casserole with green veg
D: bacon and roast veggies with crumbled feta

prettybird · 19/01/2022 08:27

@LizzyBennett - there is a good recipe for lasagne in the recipe thread Smile I would say that as I posted it Wink

It does have canned tomatoes in it but it has so many other veg (blitzed leeks, shallots, garlic, chopped spinach in the sofrito for the mince, courgettes for the "pasta") as well as lots of cheese and eggs (used instead of the Béchamel sauce), that it is not a significant amount per portion.

prettybird · 19/01/2022 08:38

Has meant to post up a picture of the cheeseburger pie that I made on Monday. I tried using my roasting pan but it was maybe a bit big even though I was making a double quantity.

I tried adding a layer of cornichons that had been languishing in the fridge which worked well. And I added an extra sprinkling of grated cheese over the top.

Yummy Smile

We're having it again tonight (something easy for when I get in from rugby training) and then I'll divide the rest up and store it as individual portions.

Last night we had a lovely broccoli and halloumi dish (from an earlier Boot Camp - it's not in the recipe thread but if you search on broccoli and halloumi in the aBoot Camp threads you'll find it. It was a photo posted by rshard ) using a couple of chillis that I'd finally brought in from my neglected chilli plants in the greenhouse. I've also put a load of them in the freezer.

UnexpectedItemInShaggingArea · 19/01/2022 08:42

Morning everyone. KOKO.

I will confess there was a Quality Street incident yesterday. Day 2 transgressions are not good. On the plus side I'm hitting my water targets for the first time in my life and a cheeky mid week weigh in has me down a whole pound.

Today:

B: bacon, eggs, tomato
L: chilli
D: smoked salmon and avocado salad

BIWI · 19/01/2022 08:44

@Random789 Good find on the trousers! (I do wonder if any of the stuff in TK Maxx ever really does sell anywhere else, for the supposed original price)

Re water - try drinking it hot, so pour boiling water into your cup as if you were making tea, but add a slice of lemon instead of a tea bag. It's a very soothing drink and, texturally, somehow much 'richer' and 'creamier' than cold water from a tap or bottle.

OP posts:
AllTheBlackCoffee · 19/01/2022 09:01

I love the 'flavour' of boiled water. Way back when I worked in an actual office before relocating to my spare bedroom, we used to have a hot water tap and I never had a problem hitting my target in the winter. Since I've been WHF though, I've got out of the habit and if the kettle's on it's usually for coffee, but I will revisit.

Ages ago, I worked out a four-week LC menu plan, complete with shopping lists which I'm working through at the moment. Don't think I've ever stuck to the full 4 weeks so will be interesting to see how I find it. It has 'easy tea night' for when we're all out doing various hobbies, 'fakeaway night', 'leftovers night' and other themes going on. Today is meat free day Grin

B: none - IFer on wk 3 of BC
L: spinach, mushrooms, scrambled eggs
D: halloumi bake (Fast 800 recipe)

Have already been to a PT session this morning and am 750ml down on my water. Desperately trying to out-water the curse of week 3 in the hope of a loss on Monday.

BIWI · 19/01/2022 09:04

@AllTheBlackCoffee that plan sounds amazing - it would be really worth putting that on the spreadsheet, if you're happy to share?
