Here's a link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness lovingly managed by @ouchmyfeet.

I've added a couple of names that I've spotted this evening, but they're at the bottom of the list not alphabetised - if your name isn't on the list, add yours at the bottom, and we'll re-alphabetise it once we get going.

Soooo cold this morning so went to visit DD2 as a cheer up for both and had sushi for lunch. Just sashimi for me and wasabi Mayo. Seaweed salad had a suspiciously sweet dressing so couldn't eat that..
Gallons of black tea which may make the journey back along the Piccadilly Line more exciting than ideal but 'we move' as DD says...
...

LostMyLastHatfulOfWords · 18/01/2022 15:21

water
Coffee and cream -low carbing for a while already or I'd have taken time to have an egg (even though rarely hungry first thing)

water

mint tea (not buttermint yet... but soooon)
coleslaw and mayo and fried haloumi
water

tea with dash of milk
water
Tonight - meatballs and baked sprouts with chilli or something spicy

mint tea

psed · 18/01/2022 15:24

I’m headachey and pmt-y but still feeling positive. I have a question about nuts - really none? What about seeds? I’m a “lazy vegan” but eating eggs at the moment. Milk and cream don’t sit well with me, can manage bits of cheese every now and then. Eating lots of tofu and tempeh already.

B avocado protein powder smoothie with almond milk
L leftover Thai coconut curry with tempeh and veg
D mushroom omelette and salad

@psed have you read the vegetarian rules? As a veggie/vegan you are allowed nuts/seeds

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratchett · 18/01/2022 15:46

So good to see you @ilovecherries

Breakfast: Nothing (I've been doing this since Jan 1st)
Lunch: Red curry on a bed of buttered spinach
Dinner: Ribs with either harissa paste or ras-el-hanout, home-made chili oil (thanks DD) and salad

Drinks are a crap-ton of water, pu-er mixed with peppermint tea, and two proper cups of tea with milk (I measure the milk because I learned my dairy lesson in previous BCs).

I think my theory is that as long as I kept a giant thing of spinach and a giant thing of salad in the fridge, I won't ever resort to cheese spread on salami.

ShagMeRiggins · 18/01/2022 15:53

@byebyecarbs

Thanks so much to everyone who answered my question about regaining weight. One of the reasons I asked is because I'd also lost weight and regained it over the last couple of years. I kidded myself I was low carbing when I wasn't - I was eating high fat plus some carbs thrown in for good measure. Long term strict low-carbing is clearly the key to success here.
High fat high (processed) carb is a disaster.

Consider health.

Consider sustainability of diet (in the ‘this is what I eat’ sense, not the weight loss sense.

Consider pleasure with food.

NisekoWhistler · 18/01/2022 15:54

Hi everyone

Good first day yesterday.
Breakfast - black coffee with 30g butter

Lunch - pork belly, homemade guacamole and carbzone wrap

Dinner - left over Dishoom's Lamb Raan

FrenchBoule · 18/01/2022 15:58

@StuntNun I agree with you re unrealistic expectations. People didn’t put the weight on overnight, it takes time and effort to lose it. I don’t expect any big changes for about a month.

@ToddlingForwards haha,I forgot how difficult it is having a toddler. I’m surprised my eyeballs aren’t still rolling from the daily battles with them 🙂

@ilovecherries 💐 so sorry to hear about your dad

@DollyDingleberry I went LC last time after having DS. Strangely enough my milk has improved and he started gaining weight in a good manner as I was eating crap(biscuit, crisps) and he was forever hanging of my boob always hungry with poor weight gain.
Vicious circle of poor nutrition that I broke by going on eating much healthier. He was better and so was I.
“Cut out the crap diet” that I called it.

There’s much more goodness in a couple of eggs than in a packet of processed stuff.

On a different note- DS has spilled some cereals this morning and out of a habit I scooped them and shoved in my gob. It was only afterwards that I realised I ate about a tbsp of coco pops😱

FrenchBoule · 18/01/2022 16:00

Hello @NisekoWhistler 🙂 nice to meet another curry lover. Would love to try some Dishooms stuff as I’m in the thralls of Dan Toombs and Richard Sayce AKA The Curry Guy and Misty Ricardo.

JSL52 · 18/01/2022 16:06

Hi.
Not sure how to input my starting weight on the spreadsheet.

BIWI · 18/01/2022 16:43

Can you not just enter it in the relevant cell @JSL52?

Have you got the app downloaded, if you're using the spreadsheet on your mobile?

@NisekoWhistler

Are you another long term low carber? If not, why the bullet proof coffee? We generally advise against that instead of a meal as it's not adequate nutrition.

And also - where is your veg?!

“On a different note - DS has spilled some cereals this morning and out of a habit I scooped them and shoved in my gob. It was only afterwards that I realised I ate about a tbsp of coco pops😱”

@FrenchBoule me too! Reckon I am burning extra from the willpower needed to not eat DS’s toast and biscuit cast-offs. Although now I know where most of the extra stone has come from

Batshittery · 18/01/2022 17:20

@ilovecherries sorry to hear you have been having such a rough time. Thanks I remember how well you and Ragz did back in the day (I was a wombat back then Grin)

B: Scrambled eggs with cream and butter and salmon
L: broccoli soup with cream and a random hard boiled egg
D: steak, fried egg, mushrooms cooked in butter
S: Greek yogurt with a dash of cream (first time I've put cream in and don't think I'll bother again. I'm not sure why it's a thing)
(more veg tomorrow)

3luckystars · 18/01/2022 17:30

I am doing ok, had a lovely omelette for dinner and minestrone style vegetable soup for lunch.
I got some news about my daughter today and I think she might have to go back to hospital so am trying to resist reaching for chocolate.

So far so good. I also bought a weighing scales.

UnOeufIsEnough · 18/01/2022 17:38

B: scrambled egg and avocado
L: cabbage and leek soup with some streaky bacon
D: homemade cod & broccoli curry with some garlic mushrooms on the side

Bit of an odd dinner combo but I'm going to the supermarket tomorrow!

No. It just goes blue. I'm on the mobile MN app.
prettybird · 18/01/2022 17:58

@Batshittery - I usually don't bother adding cream to my full fat Greek yoghurt and cinnamon but occasionally I get a tub that seems drier/firmer and I find I need the cream to loosen it off a bit. Smile

SpottyBumPony · 18/01/2022 18:12

B Creamy coffee, chopped boiled eggs with mayo, butter and cherry Tom's
L Ham and cheese salad
D Steak, green beans, broccoli and mushrooms with blue cheese sauce
S mini peppermint

CoffeeChocolateWine · 18/01/2022 18:20

@NisekoWhistler, hope you don't mind me asking, but I noticed on your meal plan you put:

Good first day yesterday.
Breakfast - black coffee with 30g butter

Did you really just have a cup of coffee and a big lump of butter?! Or does the butter get stirred in? I've never heard of this before!

Benvolio · 18/01/2022 18:22

Hello I'm not on the spreadsheet as can't handle any more admin, but I have been reading everything and I've attempted bc before, but never made it further than a couple of weeks.

But I'm living on my own most of the time at the moment, so no excuses. I have a whole small duck in the oven (sainsburys had an offer on the sort you put in the oven in its bag). This should produce lots of fat for cooking as well as 3 or 4 meals for me. Tenderstem broccoli is my go to green veg, so I'll have a whole packet tonight.

Nice to hear how everyone is getting on and your food ideas.

MrsTerryPratchett · 18/01/2022 18:23

Did you really just have a cup of coffee and a big lump of butter?! Or does the butter get stirred in? I've never heard of this before!

Bullet coffee. You blend it. Im not a fan. DH drinks it.

Oneborneverydecade · 18/01/2022 18:28

@3luckystars Flowers

@CoffeeChocolateWine coffee with butter is a bulletproof coffee that BIWI was advising against upthread. Filling but lacking nutrition

Oneborneverydecade · 18/01/2022 18:35

@Benvolio duck and broccoli sounds delicious

B: scrambled eggs
L: cubed cheese, chorizo and 3 rollitos
D: creamy pork chops and broccoli

I managed to dodge croissants at work this morning.

Going to head to Waitrose tomorrow to stock up on salad ingredients and the famous buttermint tea bags.
