Here's the spreadsheet

I think this has been a really fantastic Bootcamp. Lots of really great losses.

As well as that, though, like every Bootcamp I'm always amazed and often humbled by how much we get to know people. We may all be here because we're trying to lose weight, but there's so much more going on in people's lives.

Tomorrow is the final weigh-in, but I hope very much that people will continue to check in and update us all on 'their journey' (sorry for the cliché)

Ragz I ordered them off Amazon. There's 11 of 12 boxes left in the pantry. They sit next to the lupin flour, biltong and pork scratchings that I've bought in boredom.

Oneborneverydecade · 03/04/2021 17:11

Bloody hell I love hot cross buns, mince pies and doughnuts! I'd struggle to think of something sweet I don't like - maybe sweets?!
Just back from the farm shop and bought some belly pork which DH will roast (is that the best idea?) and serve alongside some celeriac and leek mash. I'm a wee bit excited
He's also going to make me the Leon sprout salad to take to his parents bbq tomorrow. His mum has made a chilli, possibly to accommodate me but DH has warned me off ha

Oneborneverydecade · 03/04/2021 17:16

@prettybird how were the buns?

@nowlook I remember your seaweed thins review Grin

prettybird · 03/04/2021 17:45

@Oneborneverydecade Lovely Smile

I had one and might try another one toasted tomorrow and then that's me done with them Wink

Right. I have very consciously stepped off the low carb WOE today and tomorrow. Today I ate a cornflake best my autistic son made for me and was very proud of creating and excited for me to enjoy. I am also planning to eat a slice of French bread and some homemade chips with dinner tonight’s seafood extravaganza (postponed from yesterday). Tomorrow we are having Christmas dinner and roast potato, Sherry trifle and Yule log will be committed. Easter Monday will see me back on track.

Oneborneverydecade · 03/04/2021 18:17

@prettybird they look amazing

BustleInYourHedgerow · 03/04/2021 20:29

Thanks for the cream of tartar tip @prettybird

L: egg mayo, avocado with spinach and rocket
D: steak, fried mushrooms and shallots, creamy pepper sauce, asparagus and some more fecking purple sprouting broccoli. My entire garden is a flgv.

7k run and then a 9k walk with the family out to a local island. The sun was shining it was beautiful walking along the causeway.

Pleaseandthankyou · 03/04/2021 21:58

@prettybird they look amazing. I can almost smell them. You must have fantastic willpower. @biwi yesterday I had a hot cross bun doughnut 😄

venusandmars · 03/04/2021 22:11

@nowlook I only like the wasabi flavour seaweed thins. For me they answer the need to open a packet of something... I quite like the first 5 or 6. By then the feeling of wanting to open a bag of crisps has gone away.

And my dgc love them. I think it's the idea of eating seaweed. They also love nettle and wild garlic soup, garlic flowers, seabuckthorn tea... basically anything that seems wild growing and exciting.

@prettybird those buns look incredible Blush Grin

Tomorrow we have a 'cook at home' Easter Celebration lunch from a lovely restaurant. We'll be in the garden with SIL battling the forecasted ferocious winds. Food is as follows:

  • ratatouille and cheese 'tortellini' (wrapped in leaves not pasta) with tomato water, smoked paprika oil, crispy nettles
  • scallop with parmesan gratin, wild garlic butter, capers
  • ham hock and wild leek terrine, with mustard, pickles, watercress and peas (looks like there about 7 peas each!)
  • lamb with charred asparagus, red cabbage, herb and cucumber yogurt, cumin crumb
  • carrot and walnut frangipane with thyme custard
  • dark chocolate cake with compressed strawberries, poached pear, sweet cicely and macadamia pesto

The portions are tiny, but will be rich with butter and flavour. I'll probably have some of the first dessert, but I don't have a sweet tooth anymore, and will gladly give the second one a miss. With the weather forecast I'm a little worried that my watercress garnish and the pea-shoot garnish will be lost to the elements!

MrsOmelette · 04/04/2021 05:27

Getting up at 4am has some positives - dinner is all prepped! We collected gorse flowers yesterday to dye our eggs yellow and will finish them after breakfast then go out to the main village hill to roll them, do a quick litter-pick, then home. Have even had 13 year old son agreeing relatively happily to leave the house - wonders will never cease. Happy Easter everyone.

StuntNun · 04/04/2021 07:37

Oh I miss collecting gorse flowers MrsOmelette. They don't grow round here. We just coloured ours in with felt tip. Here's mine! We're going to roll them at the park since it has a steep grassy slope.

I hope your lunch isn't too breezy and cold @venusandmars Smile

The forecast for Tuesday is not looking good for drinks on the patio Sad : "feels like -1" and 16mph winds, gusting 35 Shock We're borrowing two fire pits to add to our own braai which can also be used as a fire pit.

Happy Easter!

Just ate a piece of toast. Grin holiday free for all today then back on it tomorrow. To be fair that was my first bread of the whole year!

Love the egg @StuntNun we like to sort of paper maiche them with tissue paper, looks beautiful!

nowlook · 04/04/2021 09:42

Happy Easter all!

I had my vaccine this morning (7.55am) at a hospital 50 mins away, so was up with the lark. Just back in time to wave DS1 off to his second football match of the weekend.

Now have to summon the energy to hide 600 eggs; 48 creme eggs; 48 malteser bunnies and six packs of mini-eggs Hmm. Another cup of tea first, I think...

Love seeing the decorated eggs. When I was in primary, my mum I won the annual school competition with my caterpillar. Twas half a dozen eggs died green as they boiled; coloured drawing pins for spots; standard pipe cleaner action for the feelers. Very strangely, the prize was tickets to the local pantomime in December Confused. Happy times.

nowlook · 04/04/2021 09:44

Never won the bonnet competition though, not even vicariously through the DC Sad

BIWI · 04/04/2021 09:47

Happy Easter!

We're having a barbecue today, so that DS2 can come over. It's supposed to warm up to a tropical 12 degrees by 2pm Hmm

We'll be having:

Butterflied leg of lamb, which has been marinated in olive oil, garlic, lemon juice, ras el hanout, ponzu soy sauce, oregano and chilli flakes
Home-made beefburgers (SLC roll for me!)
Halloumi in a coriander, lemon and garlic dressing
Toulouse sausages
Home-made coleslaw
Griddled pepper salad
French fries (for the boys - I may sneak one or two Wink)

DH bought me a bottle of pink Champagne instead of chocolates/an egg, so we'll probably have that too.

Looking forward to it, but just wish it was a bit warmer!

Happy Easter everyone!

The bonus of being woken at 5.30am today was plenty of time to make these brownie sheep bites to take to the ILs later @MrsOmelette Smile

Yay for the vaccine @nowlook

One year I used Acer leaves to decorate our eggs. Apparently acer can look a lot like marijuana. Who knew

What a cutie @Oneborneverydecade!

And yay @nowlook

Cactusowl · 04/04/2021 10:48

Happy Easter!

Have decided not to break low carb this holiday as I want to see the scales moving in the right direction!

NSV this morning as my BMI is now 39.9, that’s even more motivation to keep going so it hopefully doesn’t swing back into the 40s!

cheeseisthebest · 04/04/2021 12:01

So sweet!
Help needed! How long do I cook a 1.6kg shoulder of lamb for? I googled and it says 4 hours at 170 fan. Does that sound ok?

FusionChefGeoff · 04/04/2021 14:12

Hello!!

Those sheep cakes look awesome Smile

So I was looking forward to a slight relaxation between BC particularly bread / toast but it seems that I do have a gluten issue Sad. Was hungry yesterday at breakfast time which is unusual but I had a piece of SLC toast AND a SLC hot cross bun and got horrible cramps followed by a dodgy digestive output (!) this morning.

So looks like the gluten fibre or whatever it is is too much if on an empty stomach and in large quantities.

So I daren't risk actual gluten which is going to be amazing for my BC adherence but sucks long term.

Had an incredible fry up with spinach eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomato sausage and LOTs of crispy bacon including everyone else's rejected bacon fat!!

How about this for an unexpected NSV though - these are my 'painting dungarees' from Uni days and I've been able to keep them in use due to the run of buttons on both sides which have, at times, been completely undone.

But now they're all done up and slide on without too much leaping about!!

Oddbutnotodd · 04/04/2021 15:49

Hi. I’ve had a great Easter Day. Decided to give myself the day off. Had a fabulous rib of beef roast together with Yorkshire pudding and wine. Enjoyed a hot cross bun earlier and some dark chocolate. Will be going for a family walk later on.
Felt good playing tennis earlier with 5kg of weight gone. Will be reducing carbs again from tomorrow to get the last 4kg of weight off.

FusionChefGeoff · 04/04/2021 16:05

For those of you who have a day off - do you have to go through the withdrawals again??? I felt so terrible that first week I'd have to be really desperate if that was the case!
