Just hopping on to say I’m down a ib

Just me and my 13 yo in last night, he had a huge treat which was a takeaway pizza from our local sourdough place in my favourite flavour. I was saintly and had their meatballs.

I think we’ve got three weeks left - my plan is to get to my target for this bc and then maintain til the next as tbh it’s maintenance that I always fall down on

I've pulled my wrist out. It hurts. I have pins and needles from my wrist to the palm of my hand.

Anyway.
Breakfast. Natural yoghurt.
Lunch: boiled egg and ham salad.
Dinner: gammon, egg and celeriac chips.

Didn't drink anywhere near enough water yesterday and I'm a lb up today.
So I know what I did wrong.
Going to make sure I drink shit loads of water today.

Water really does make a difference. I daily week go and I will always see the effect on the scales the following day if I haven't drink my water or herb tea

Disgusting weather! My dd phoned while I was in the supermarket. I spent 30 minutes on the phone walking up and down the aisles of Tesco, better way of getting my steps in than being outside! That said, I'm about to dress up warm and go for a wild and blowy walk by the sea. It might be exhilarating, or it might just be cold!

Had a lovely shakshuka in a cafe this morning. Will definitely recreate at home.

Dinner will be pork mince cooked on a Chinese eat with chill and coriander in little hen lettuces. Can’t remember where that recipe is from

Managed a lovely walk ( Stepaside to Saundersfoot along the tramway for anyone local ,) no rain , until we were in the car and nearly home
Stopped for a coffee ( I drink black coffee ) and asked for a jug of hot water , which I drank after the coffee , thought I may as well get another glassful in when we were sitting down !
We have the chilly flasks , but can be bothered to carry them , They're quite heavy when full , I need to get a little backpack or something to take on walks , so the water can come with us

Currently making a Chocolate Orange Cake from Nigella's "Feast" and substituting the sugar for erythritol. I volunteered to make pudding/dessert for my dad (who got back from SA this week after 8+ weeks away) but he only came back to me this morning to confirm, so I had to go with what I had in the house. (Which is why it has oranges)

Ingredients are 2 thin skinned oranges (or the 4 old clementines I had in the fruit bowl Wink), boiled then blitzed (that step doesn't seem to be necessary if you forget Blush) and blitzed again with 6 eggs, ground almonds, sugar erythritol, cocoa, baking powder and bicarb. I'll let you know how it turns out!

Volunteered to make something to avoid whatever carb loaded dessert dad would've made (he does try but he forgets Wink)

Almahart I love a shakshuka.

1.8lbs crept on from my Weds-Thurs lowest, hopefully plenty of water and a good day today will see me right for tomorrow. Hadn't had anything not allowed but Friday and Saturday just saw big meals, snacks, a little red wine, 85% chocolate, less water than usual, quite a bit of dairy and was generally pushing the boundaries a bit rather than staying "in the zone".

Today I had a late breakfast out at a play cafe of ham and mushroom and cheese omelette with salad with balsamic drizzle, I'll know for next time then roast beef, cauli cheese, mashed swede, broccoli and a little bit of carrot. Have also had some chocolate and some yogurt. So not that great again today! Plenty of water at least and no wine.

HerRoyal that sounds painful. Take it easy and remember to drink lots of water, your body needs it to heal and recover from the shock. Much better for you than hit sweet tea! Don't be surprised if you feel pretty awful for the next couple of days, the aftermath of trauma is like that. Best thing you can do is carry of with this way of eating - lots of green veg, some protein, some good fats. They will all do you a power of good. I have a freezer full of soup made from chicken stock, spinach, butter and cream. It's called recovery soup - recover from a cold, flu, a hangover, a disappointment, a broken heart...

Good plan for damage limitation prettybird I wonder if you will find it all too sweet? I was given some Thorntons chocolate fudge squares. Took one to eat (7g of carbs in one tiny morsel). I had a miniscule bite, about one third of it, and couldn't eat any more. So sickly!

Had a brilliant dinner tonight. Wicked M'shrooms in a stir fry with shallot, red pepper, a bit of tomato. Accompanied by another stir fry of leek, garlic, ginger, kale and spinach. With 10%fat Yogurt mixed with some smoked paprika. (minus the fajita wraps that dh had)

I rarely eat pre-prepared food but the Wicked M'shrooms looked interesting, and they were a good meaty texture, nice alternative if you're looking for a meat free meal.

I've added photos of the packaging and nutritional content, plus a pic of the left overs for tomorrow's lunch, probably with a fried egg.

I'll add the packaging pics to the other thread about good items (if I can find it).

Had a nice made up dinner tonight , shallots , spinach , leeks , mushrooms and asparagus sautéed in butter , sea salt flakes and black pepper , some double cream to make a nice sauce and under the grill with some grated cheddar on top
DH had pasta with his ( and a bar of dairy milk for pud )
Loads of water , and still off the wine ( go me ! )

DH has been growing his own mushrooms courtesy of a DIY kit he got for Christmas and I can heartily recommend trying it as they're so much nicer when freshly picked and cooked. He's growing them in a cardboard box on top of the fridge so it seems pretty easy to do.

Hope you're okay HerRoyal that sounds like a serious injury. Is it in a cast now?

Shoved back in and strapped up for the next 2-4 weeks. They've not put it in a cast, as it's so swollen so they want to see how I go with the splint for now.

It's extremely sore. And very hard work trying to do things with the "wrong" hand

The chocolate orange cake was a success: served with plenty of double cream Smile It wasn't too sweet - but there again, from what I've read, erythritol is only 75% as sweet as sugar and as I substitute it weight for weight, I'm automatically making it less sweet and anyway, I've never quite lost my sweet tooth Blush

What I am now able to do is to look at sweet stuff and choose not to eat it Halo

@brassicababe - I was reminded about something you said when I was reading an article in an old Good Housekeeping (I'm currently doing a long overdue clear/sort out) : it was saying that stress can add inches to the "bad" (aka visceral aka more dangerous) areas (it didn't use those words but that's how I remember it) and I recalled you wondering whether you were stressing/obsessing about it. I wondered if that in itself was causing the "spare tyre" that you are worried about (although personally I think you look great in the picture you posted).

I know it's a vicious (or at best, self-sustaining) circle - but trying to break that stress cycle - or even just being aware of it - might help stop the potential attacks of the "fuck-its". You feel so close yet so far (from your own personal goals) so I can understand how easy it is to stress about it (I'll no doubt be like that so remind me of this post when I'm getting close to our family trip to Australia in May, if the scales refuse to move Wink).

In addition to your great boobs/bra, you've also got great legs! Smile

I'm getting close to redoing one of my own progress pictures - but it's taken me over a year to get back to close to the stage where I'd done my last set of progress shots and yes I know that's not the point Blush
