No need to always be cooking separate stuff, and it doesn't do the kids any harm not have potatoes every once in a while!
This is so true, BIWI. It’s great to expose the family to different recipes and some might not like it but you won’t know until after several tries.
Here, 3 out of 4 love celeriac chips. The fourth can skip it if he likes but I’ll still serve it for all—and not provide his preference because I’m only one woman ffs— in the same way I’ll cook mash sometimes except one won’t eat mash because loves chips more, or make gravy that the “dry-eater” doesn’t eat (not my problem) or cook peas as main veg for the one who only tolerates peas.
Not saying we need to insist everyone must eat LCHF, but it’s a good reason to expose the family to new dishes.
I’m fairly certain I’ve made myself sound horrid in some ways, but I did a few alternate dinners to suit everyone years ago and quickly learned it wasn’t doing them any good. Nor me.
For the record, I do take all preferences into meals but sometimes it doesn’t go their way. There’s a fish pie in the freezer for tomorrow night that 5 out of 6 will love. I will make brilliant veg as well. That’s good enough for me, and for them.
