cowers

I’ll do better! Most days I’ve had loads of veg. Broccoli and cauliflower mostly. I just felt too tired to cook anymore after making about 20 bloody pancakes!

Doilooklikeatourist · 25/02/2020 20:35

So today has been a good day
B Greek yoghurt with the lovely nutty granola and 4 raspberries
L grilled mushrooms with butter and olive oil , port salut cheese
Snack pork scratchings
D gammon steak , low carb cauli cheese and stir fried shallots , mushrooms and spinach
Some spinach and gammon left to make a fry up,with some eggs for breakfast tomorrow
Lots of water and a haircut ( that’s got to be at least half a pound off by Monday ! )

I’ve got a slightly clueless DH to add to the collection , we’ve got an unusually busy day tomorrow and need to have something easy and main meal type ( he’s old fashioned as well ) at lunchtime , I asked for suggestions , he came up with chicken Kiev ❤️

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 25/02/2020 20:36

I love sprouts too.
And broccoli and cauliflower and spinach, and Swede, and asparagus. I tolerate green beans, but will eat them.

Turns out I love low carb stuff already! Wink it's just a shame about the KitKat's...

BIWI · 25/02/2020 20:38

Back in the day, @HerRoyalCarbyLess, when low carbing was all the rage (again) in the early/mid-2000s, Nestle did (briefly) sell a low carb Kit Kat, and also low carb Rolos!

BIWI · 25/02/2020 20:39

Here - it was in 2004

They didn't last long though!

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 25/02/2020 20:45

Back in 04 I was a very slender, beautiful 13 year old. Diet was the least of my worries.
Damn getting older. It sucks.

ShagMeRiggins · 25/02/2020 20:47

Hmm I’ve had no veg today. Not usual for me though! I’ll have plenty tomorrow.

It’s just something to consider Roz—nutrition. Taking care of ourselves. Literally nurturing ourselves. (Actually not certain that’s literal, but I’m convinced there’s a shared Latin root.).

And remembering it’s not about a perfect daily balance but an overall balance. So it’s all good.

Nux · 25/02/2020 21:02

Hi hi, checking back in - managed to stay the same this week. I have to say I really ought to weigh in on Tuesdays, I have been a full kilo lighter each Tuesday than I am for the Monday weigh in!

Almahart · 25/02/2020 21:03

@RozHuntleysStump I would only have a slice. I keep it in the freezer and pile it high with butter and avocado so it’s pretty filling

@Rshard I’m glad you liked it.

Next time I’m get it I’m going to have pate and cornichons

I basically treat it as a delivery service for high fat food!

Rayna37 · 25/02/2020 21:04

Another one a bit low on veg today and just scraping my water target. Spent most of the day driving.

B: scrambled eggs. Later on a creamy coffee from Costa, bit disappointing tbh.
L: chicken skewers and delicious cheese Serrano ham involtini from Waitrose, and a few nuts.
D: bolognese on courgetti with Parmesan. Half a 25g bar of 85% dark chocolate.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 25/02/2020 22:40

Another 4.2 litres of water down my neck today.
It's difficult to drink so much water! Please tell me it gets easier!

prettybird · 25/02/2020 22:44

It does get easier Grin

....but look on it as an incentive to reduce weight to get into the lower water allocations Wink

Almahart · 25/02/2020 22:49

Had corn beef hash tonight which was delicious but the cauliflower I roasted for tomorrow’s lunch is a bit of a slimy mess.

I’m at that stage of bc where I am getting a bit tired of it.

However, I am looking and feeling different - on the cusp of dropping a dress size I think

TheClitterati · 25/02/2020 23:13

Butter chicken from recipe thread For dinner tonight. It may well be the holy grail ..... A dish that both my myself and both Dds will eat and enjoy - hallelujah!

MrsBertBibby · 26/02/2020 07:51

I left my poor child to make his own damn pancakes yesterday.

He did a cracking job! The kitchen looked like a war zone after, but still.

Almahart · 26/02/2020 08:19

I made the cauliflower into soup so we’ll see!

I’m going to do ubercamp from tomorrow- scrambled eggs, tuna mayo and salad and hm burgers and coleslaw.

I’m going to party on Saturday night so will drink then but otherwise no wine

CheddarGorgeous · 26/02/2020 09:53

Bad weigh in this morning. +0.5lb. But my clothes are telling a different story so I'm trying to be relaxed about it Grin

BIWI · 26/02/2020 10:17

@Almahart - go and read through the recipe threads for a bit of inspiration! Getting bored (on any diet) is always a dangerous thing. You need to switch things up/around a bit.

Almahart · 26/02/2020 10:26

Great idea @BIWI will do, I think there’s a recipe there for a Burmese curry that I have always meant to try

Has anyone made anything delicious recently?

I have been enjoying cauliflower cheese made with a dollop of Dijon mustard.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 26/02/2020 10:28

Oh shit!
I was in such a rush this morning j forgot to eat breakfast. I'm only just home and I'm having poached egg on spinach and grating some loads of cheese over the top.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 26/02/2020 10:29

Lunch: boiled egg and chicken salad
Dinner: beef stew with FLGV on the side. Kids will have mash.

BIWI · 26/02/2020 10:33

@HerRoyalCarbyless - why not try making a mash from cauliflower, or celeriac, or swede - so that you can all eat the same? No need to always be cooking separate stuff, and it doesn't do the kids any harm not have potatoes every once in a while!

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 26/02/2020 10:43

Ooh. Cauliflower mash. Good idea!

prettybird · 26/02/2020 11:13

I've just torn out a recipe for a whole roasted celeriac with a spiced topping Shock

Will get another celeriac when I next go to Salisbury's since my Lidl seems to have stopped stocking them Sad

CheddarGorgeous · 26/02/2020 11:20

Forgot to post my meals:

B - egg mayonnaise
L - ham salad
D - fondue

Am 1.5 litres of water down already today.
