You know the drill: weigh-in; update the Spreadsheet; let us know how you've done. Everyone fall in!

Thanks Shag. I'll take that 💕 Quite made my day 😄

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 28/02/2020 14:43

My mum is otherwise brilliant. She's definitely a victim of the low fat propaganda.

I'm really enjoying this way of eating. It feels more filling, it is healthier in so many ways and I am definitely feeling better physically.
The school run according to Google maps is 15 mins each way. It takes me 50 mins each way usually. But today it's only taken me 35 mins. I'm the first person here, stood in the rain!

venusandmars · 28/02/2020 14:47

shag my idea of heaven has a whole orchard of cheesy wotsit trees Grin

HerRoyal this woe does give you more energy. I used to eat biscuits for energy, now I eat butter.

ShagMeRiggins · 28/02/2020 15:12

Brassica I was gonna day “nice tits” but wanted something more elegant. Glad it made your day. Grin

HerRoyal glad to hear your mum is overall lovely. She’ll get there, don’t worry. Your school run is a massive NSV by the way.

venus I am there with you in the orchard, waiting under the trees, with a hamper of LCHF food and a lone pack of Cheesy Wotsits to share, once a year. Wink

I can't remember if it was someone on here or whether I read it somewhere else, but I can remember reading about someone having an epiphany in the States: wandering up and down the aisle upon aisle of low fat products while surrounded by grossly obese people buying them Confused

It was an obscene illustration of the "correlation is not causation" argument about the supposed danger of high fat products. All that "low fat" products taught/allowed/excused people to do was eat more of the wrong things and to fuck up their metabolisms Sad

prettybird · 28/02/2020 15:20

Talking about Cheese Wotsits, the Golden Crunch (puffed pork scratching) that I've become obsessed with found is sort of like a bacon version of Wotsits. Smile

Now, if they were to do make a cheese flavoured version.... Grin

Maybe they shouldn't, it would be too dangerous Wink

OptimisticSix · 28/02/2020 18:07

Thanks @MrsBertBibby and @Rayna37 today after a hideous food shop (our local Tesco clearly do a LOT of home deliveries now, it's becoming impossible to navigate the aisles Confused) I thought I'd have some chocolate for the first time since I started BC. Bought 90% Lindt so thought it would be fine... Except its not and I've been curled up with a tummy ache ever since Hmm I knew before I started this woe that I must have intolerance because I often had tummy issues and then on this woe they seemed to mostly disappear, but never did I think it might be chocolate! Obviously I should have thought that since I lived on it at times, but denial is not just a River in Egypt. Honestly I'm not sure whether I'm devestated or pleased that this will help me stay on the straight and narrow Grin. Anyway in bed now watching Project Runway while hubby deals with the pessimistic brats Grin

BIWI · 28/02/2020 18:16

Sorry @BrassicaBabe but you haven't been consistent with your food! You went from Bootcamp to eating very low calorie and very low/zero carbs - and then you've been cheating, by including alcohol.

Friday: ate well. Waaayyyy to much wine
Saturday nothing special except huge hangover. Unusual for me.
Sunday. 3lb found me probably from the wine. This affected my mindset. Spent all day "fighting the fuckits". Some small cheats during the day. Went out to dinner and still won the fight (but a disappointing steak and the extra salad was just a sodding pile of iceberg hmm). Came home. Drank wine. Ate biscuits, French bread and plain soft while rolls.

You're not going to lose if you keep cheating like this!

MrsBertBibby · 28/02/2020 18:17

Oh Lord don't talk about wotsits. I love them so much!

venusandmars · 28/02/2020 19:53

prettybird I was in California many years ago and met a colleague for lunch. She said she was on a diet and was it OK if we just went to a salad place. Fine by me. She choose a Mexican Salad...

Huge bowl with chopped lettuce in the bottom, topped with chilli, refried beans, cheese, sour cream, nachos, tomato salsa, guacamole...

I could imagine her on-going bewilderment as she grew ever larger, saying "but I only eat salad for lunch"

So much good research is needed and so much education.

Doilooklikeatourist · 28/02/2020 22:09

Used my lovely new frying pan and had sautéed mushrooms , eggs and truffle oil for late breakfast , was very nice , and I’ll make it again , maybe adding in some spinach
Dinner was a bit carb heavy , but filling and delicious pork , chorizo and bean stew
We’ve been off the wine for a week now , and even though I could easily have chugged down a nice glass of Sauvi B , I resisted
Regarding the chat about snacking ... why do people have to eat at the cinema? Just sit and watch the ruddy film!

CheddarGorgeous · 29/02/2020 06:32

I was tortured yesterday. Carby and sweet snacks in the office all day and stuck in a 2 hour meeting 4.30pm-6.30pm with a range of refined sugar/hydrogenated fat goodies such as biscuits, muffins etc.

I did not eat any of it Halo but I did spend a vast amount of time just thinking about eating it. Oh how I wish I was one of those people who could look at a chocolate muffin and say "meh".

I did eat too much fruit yesterday though. Plus one medium glass of dry white wine but an approved dinner of cheeseburger topped with a fried egg.

Almahart · 29/02/2020 08:00

Not losing and in fact 1ib up. I’m going to list out all yesterday’s food cos I know I’m
slacking a bit:
Bf ff yog with a few frozen berries, seeds and cream
Bf2 (after swimming) two rashers of bacon, fried egg
Snack late afternoon chunk of cheese, late, celery
Dinner lc onion bhajis (3) with yoghurt, lime pickle and mango chutney (I know, that’s a cheat)
One square of dark choc
One glass not very nice white wine while out
One square dark choc melted in cream when I got home

So it’s not surprising really that I’m not losing.

I’m 3ibs off where I want to be by the end of bc and that is totally doable in three weeks!

prettybird · 29/02/2020 09:02

Cheddar - even though I am a moderator rather than an abstainer, on occasions like that, I find it helpful to get myself into an abstainer mindset and tell myself that if I have a single one, I'll fall face first into the rest. Sounds like you did really well.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 29/02/2020 09:04

Morning.
Not very hungry this morning so just had a couple of spoons of natural yoghurt for breakfast.

Lunch: the left over cheese and broccoli crustless quiche. It was really nice. I forgot how much I like quiche.

Dinner: sausages, cauliflower mash, cheesy spinach and green beans.

moleeye · 29/02/2020 10:11

After re-evaluating why I'm doing this and going back to BC I've had TWO right results in 24 hours.

The doctors rang me yesterday to talk through the blood tests I had last week and have confirmed that my diabetes is under control! For the first time since being diagnosed 3 years ago I've got it under control. I'm now firmly in the non diabetic range. I'll always be diabetic but I can't tell you how I felt after that call yesterday. I actually burst into tears 🙈

Second piece of good news, I had a cheeky weigh in and am 2.5lb down this week! Hope it sticks for Monday but I feel like I've got my mojo back 💪🏼

Just wanted to say thank you for BC, it's been a game changer for me since I started in November and I'm currently 35lb down. Only 15lb more to go!!

ShagMeRiggins · 29/02/2020 10:12

moleeye that’s exceptionally good news re the diabetes. Best NSV ever.

moleeye · 29/02/2020 10:15

Thank you @Shag I wanted to tell random passers by I was so happy 😂

Now to continue and carry on!

moleeye · 29/02/2020 10:22

Obvs I meant random passers by on the street, not on this thread! 🤣

Almahart · 29/02/2020 11:10

@moleeye that is absolutely brilliant!!!

MrsBertBibby · 29/02/2020 11:30

Hurrah moleeye! How fabulous!

MrsBertBibby · 29/02/2020 11:33

I am sat in bed feeling sorry for myself with a cold. Moop. Want stodge.

HerRoyalCarbyLess · 29/02/2020 11:36

Well done moleye!
MrsBert being ill sucks. Hope you feel better soon.

Ex is taking the kids to McDonald's. Kept asking if I wanted anything bringing back. No I bloody don't. Go away.

BIWI · 29/02/2020 12:31

Brilliant @moleeye! Flowers

CheddarGorgeous · 29/02/2020 15:52

Awesome @moleeye 😎

Thanks @prettybird, I definitely have to be an abstainer. One biscuit leads to 47 in my case SadGrin
