Morning all!

I love this week. It's my favourite week of the whole Bootcamp, because it's when people are finally convinced that it works!

And already I see some great losses - yes @TightPants that really can be true. No your scales aren't wrong, and presumably you'll be changing your name very soon?!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness to record the first week's loss.

Looking forward to hearing more great results Flowers

It was bound to happen. My rings have all become incredibly loose, and I’d actually swapped and put my engagement and eternity rings behind my wedding ring, as that’s a couple of sizes smaller. Washing my hands tonight and they all fell off, the wedding and engagement ring going down the drain, my eternity ring just falling into the sink. Luckily my highly competent daughter was home, she watched a you tube video then got stuck into removing the u bend and finding them both. I paid a fortune having them all extended the week before I started LC but guess I’m going to have to get them all reduced again.

OhCobblers · 25/10/2018 23:09

Sorry I know I'm not bringing much to the party right now but half term is busy amongst other things. Anyway I've had a rubbish day probably ate about 100g worth of snack carbs - no real food. Don't know why I did it. Dreading weighing in next Mon in case it's all gone back on
Off to read rest of the thread for motivation ........

BIWI · 25/10/2018 23:56

There are some lovely celeriac recipes on the recipe threads. My favourites are celeriac mash, which I make with leeks - somehow the leeks seem to make it more like potato mash than celeriac alone!

Celeriac dauphinoise is fabulous, but my absolute favourite is tartiflette.

Check the recipes out!

cherries instead of having your rings re-sized to fit now, would it be worth buying some cheap similar 'fake' rings from ebay until your weight is stable? I have fake rings for holidays incase I lose them in the pool/sea, you can get them for a few pounds.

blackteaplease · 26/10/2018 06:56

Oh @ilovecherries, my heart was I'm my mouth reading your post. I'm flat you got your rings back.

I've got a testing evening tonight. PIL are coming and they are big boozers. I'm planning to get some sparkling water and a lime as a wine replacement.

ilovecherries · 26/10/2018 07:36

chesterfield, that’s probably what I should have done months ago. I’m so near my target weight now though, I don’t think I will lose any more from my hands - both my hands and feet are really slender now. I will give them all a good clean this morning though, and pack them away till I get them sorted. blacktea, I know, I was initially frozen in horror, was quite impressed by how resourceful daughter was. Including a willingness to go out into our mouse and spider invested garage at 10 pm to get her dad’s tools!

jaxhwc · 26/10/2018 07:56

Littelorangetree well I've just woken up and been really sick so maybe it's actually a tummy bug!

Rainbowturkey · 26/10/2018 08:24

I went out for dinner last night and had the best intentions, after a very stressful day I gave in and had rice and naan bread with my meal. Am drawing a line and will get straight back on it!

meercat23 · 26/10/2018 10:01

BIWI. Loving the ideas. Tartiflette is one of my absolute favourites and I had resigned myself to not being able to have that anymore. Celeriac Tartiflette is an inspired idea and I will be trying that this weekend for sure.

TightPants · 26/10/2018 10:04

Morning all!
Well it’s still going well so far, feeling proud of myself as I had a takeaway and catch up with some friends last night and avoided all booze, nan breads, rice and popadoms! I had chicken tikka and veg curry (had to fish the potato and carrots out of the curry). Someone also produced a massive bag of chocolate buttons and I didn’t even want one.
What is happening to me?!
I’ve usually got zero willpower.

Littleorangetree · 26/10/2018 10:14

Oh no jaxhwc, hope it goes quickly!

ilovecherries maye you could try something like these until you get them made smaller? ring snuggies

bibliomania · 26/10/2018 10:39

Thanks for mentioning the frozen celeriac in Waitrose, stuntnun. I picked up a bag for 65p, so I can experiment with some of the recipes upthread.

I did go off-piste last night. Some wine and chocolate might have been involved.

HenryInTheTunnel · 26/10/2018 11:55

Popping on to say i'm 1lb down so far! Been doing a bit of C25k as well and not finding it as horrific as i expected.

reddA · 26/10/2018 12:01

Morning all :) mega busy at the moment so have just skimmed through the thread, hope everyone is well.
Ilovecherries, March! Not long to wait then, thank goodness you found your rings, heart in mouth moment Shock

I'm KOKO, feeling ok, bit of a dodgy tummy but nothing I can't cope with, not particularly hungry but trying to keep to 3 meals a day until next week. Totm for me yesterday too so more bloated than normal.

Had a nice dinner last night - chicken stuffed with cheese wrapped in streaky bacon with celeriac (I boiled square chunks and was going to have mash but changed my mind and shallow fried them afterwards in very hot olive oil to make square chippys), green salad on the side.

Not sure what I'll have today, might try making a soup, not really fancying eggs right now.

dotheshakeandvac · 26/10/2018 12:02

Help! About to go to work course lunch and just been told it's to a pizza restaurant! If I just eat the topping and the salad that could work? Leading one of the groups so can't duck out.

Justmuddlingalong · 26/10/2018 12:08

Would they not have salad?

dotheshakeandvac · 26/10/2018 12:17

Hoping so justmuddlingalong. Wish me luck - I'll update later. The accountability of sticking to plan here really helps.

Justmuddlingalong · 26/10/2018 12:31

Wishing you strength and willpower. 🥗

reddA · 26/10/2018 13:08

That's tough - Pizza restaurants always smell soooo nice, good luck!

Iamnotacerealkiller · 26/10/2018 14:04

RE Carbs in celariac. google says 9g per 100g. how do we tell what is accurate?

StAlphonzospancakebreakfast · 26/10/2018 14:11

It’s my youngests birthday today and my eldests party tomorrow! Wish me cake luck 😂 (Actually not tempted so it’s fine)

dotheshakeandvac · 26/10/2018 14:11

Survived!! Filled up on olives and salad, and scraped the topping off 2 pizza slices Asked if I didn't like bread - had to reply no I like it a lot, it just doesn't like me. First total disaster dodged. Thanks for the moral support.

prettybird · 26/10/2018 14:17

Does Google include the fibre in celeriac in its carb count? (Which is what the Americans tend to do) if it does, then it should be deducted from the inflated amount.

Iamnotacerealkiller · 26/10/2018 15:17

yes but thats only 1.8g per 100g so still 6.2g.

prettybird · 26/10/2018 16:38

Asda and Tesco both say 2.3g Smile

Found this glorious site theproteinbreadco.com.au/the-50-lowest-carb-vegetables-the-definitive-list/ which as them at 2.8g - but it also suggests lots of other low carb veg and links to recipes for them Grin
