Week 2 - May '18 Low Carb Bootcamp - my favourite week!

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet

I love this week, seeing how much weight people lose, and especially as it's always such a surprise for newbies and those who feared that this WOE wouldn't work!

I hope you've all seen good results.

If you haven't - don't despair, but have a think about the week just gone. Look at what you were eating/drinking and consider how well you followed Bootcamp rules.

Any problems, as ever, post them on the thread.

I was also going to suggest the supermarket for interim clothes, Sainsbury’s is pretty good

AthelstaneTheUnready · 22/05/2018 10:41

Added it, binge.

DramaAlpaca · 22/05/2018 10:43

Justmuddling I've just downloaded that app, I think it will help me along too.

No weight loss this morning, but I feel thinner! And I have so much energy at the moment. Also I think the arthritis in my fingers has improved, they are no longer stiff & sore in the morning.

Iamnotacerealkiller · 22/05/2018 10:47

@Justmuddlingalong

i make an overly complicated excel spreadsheet with weight up the side and days along the top the fill the box of the weight i am each day with a colour. the result is simple point graph showing a downward trend. i find it more flexible then an ap and i ghost in colours to show weekends and events and each half stone. i also project ahead so i can see where i will be in 2 months if i lose 2lb per week for example.

its amazing how short 10 weeks looks on a graph like that. i find setting it up is a good way of getting into the correct mind set. i want to not be overweight by my anniversary in august. that's about 1.5lb per week on average.

AromaticSpices · 22/05/2018 10:50

Oooh i like the idea of that spreadsheet iamnotacerealkiller. I might do my own!

Iamnotacerealkiller · 22/05/2018 10:52

@Waswittyonce

oh dear you mil sounds difficult, i dont have that but my mil did just buy me a 1.5kg bag of chocolate. tbf she didn't know was lc but i have just had a baby so perhaps not the most thoughtful of gifts, oh cant eat chocolate too (she had forgotten).

Justmuddlingalong · 22/05/2018 10:53

Just ordered some bits from Sainsbos. Some decent stuff without breaking the bank.

BlackMozart · 22/05/2018 11:35

ilove, athel and stunt thank you for your wise and motivating words. I can do this. I just need to believe it and let it take the time it takes.

Thing101 · 22/05/2018 11:41

Hello, all going well generally and sticking to the rules. 5/6 lb off (depending which scale I ask!), but yesterday and today feeling a bit carb fluey - tried a gentle run yesterday and legs were very heavy and tired, and today I feel generally achey and have a bit of a headache. Is this just age, or do you think it's bootcamp related? I did have carb flu at the beginning and then felt great last week but feel tired and a bit sore today. I haven't fallen off the wagon or eaten anything that would put me back at the beginning again. Any ideas please?

Iamnotacerealkiller · 22/05/2018 11:46

@AromaticSpices

tried to attach screen shot. its a real mess as its for my eyes only. horizontal lines are weight miles stones so every half stone. i put half lb incraments down the left side. blue vertical lines are weekends. other horizontal lines are events. i have projected weight loss going forward in other colours.

@Iamnotacerealkiller Thank you, it's ok, I have my reactions to MIL under control now. It's funny because I think she's genuinely fond of me, I think she thought she needed to give me a kick up the bum for my own good, but I was particularly low at the time which she probably didn't realise. Congratulations on the new baby 😀

Iamnotacerealkiller · 22/05/2018 11:49

sorry about grammer and spelling have a baby sleeping on my lap!!

Iamnotacerealkiller · 22/05/2018 11:52

thanks @Waswittyonce

hes great but nothing like sleep deprivation to mess up any weightloss plans. i basically lived off chruchynut cornflakes for the first 6 weeks until our sleep improved.

breastfeeding did feck all to help too.

OrlandaFuriosa · 22/05/2018 11:56

Last 24 hours, heartburn. Why? I only usually get it if commercial bread has crossed my lips and not a crumb has..

Any tips?

AromaticSpices · 22/05/2018 12:10

Funnily enough Orlanda I had some heartburn last night, I never usually get it. I just went to sleep and it went away. Not sure on why. Maybe more acid being produced to deal with protein?! No idea, tbh. Peptac liquid is a great anti-heartburn thing which you can only get in chemists and you have to ask for it by name, they're secretive about it. It's much much cheaper than gaviscon and (I found) more effective. My uncle is a retired GP and told me about it! Came into its own when I was pregnant.

RedPandaMama · 22/05/2018 12:13

Is anyone else hoping to lose a lot of weight doing this? I was 16'7 stone after having DD (last August), down to 15'7 before starting this and now just under 15 (feels good to be in the 14 bracket again even if I am 14st 13lbs!)
I'm 5'8 and a bit so look good around 12 stone so I'd love to get down to that. Eventual dream goal weight is 11 stone.

Iamnotacerealkiller · 22/05/2018 12:21

@

im in a similar situation re baby. started low carbing a few weeks ago at 14st5 now down to 13st2.5. that took 10 weeks or so but a big chunk lost since starting bootcamp. ideally trying to get down to 11-10.5 stone

Eolian · 22/05/2018 12:23

Well done with the losses and the KOKO attitude, everyone!

Some added motivation arrived for me this morning - an invitation to a university reunion weekend in September at my old college, with a black tie dinner. There are lots of slim, accomplished, wealthy and glamorous women from my year. I may still not compete on the glamorous, accomplished and wealthy front, but I shall be slim, dammit! Grin Already looking forward to buying the dress (in a smaller size)!

3stonedown · 22/05/2018 12:31

Iamnotacerealkiller I think I am lusting after your spreadsheet.

RedPandaMama we are the same height. This is my first bootcamp but I lost 3 and a bit stone before starting and lost .5 stone on bootcamp so far so I'm down to 13 stone at the moment. My next goal is 12 which I think will make me around a size 12, but I would like to get down to 11 within 6 months. Dream weight would be 10 but I'm expecting that to take years.

JuneBalloon · 22/05/2018 12:32

Not in the mood for ANYTHING today. But I shall persevere. That said, just had my first ever packet of pork scratching after everyone was raving about them.... And my last. Not a fan is an understatement, feeling a bit icky now, not to mention disappointed - had such high hopes!

blackteaplease · 22/05/2018 12:44

Urgh I have just made a lovely looking lunch of leaves, cucumber and tinned mackerel with olive oil and it's like eating an Oil slick. I'm off to raid the fridge for an alternative.

Iamnotacerealkiller · 22/05/2018 12:46

@3stonedown

it is a bit much, setting them up is a real commitment butf typing in each of the weights makes it seem more tangible and typing each of the dates makes you feel like you can do it long term.

it is also great to see all the fluxtuation, i only just realised that i have lost over a stone when i look back far enough. it was slow but sometimes it is too easy only to think about how far you have to go rather then how far you have come. also feel like a failure for a minor blip in the road which when you (literally) zoom out you cant see in the general downward trend.

Destinysdaughter · 22/05/2018 13:03

Just had a nice lunch of egg mayo, ham and avocado. Was yummy! I started BC in Jan and, having now lost 21lbs, am really enjoying fitting into my summer clothes, including stuff I haven't been able to wear for ages. Feels like I've got a whole new wardrobe!

KOKO everyone and you will get there...

SummerRayne17 · 22/05/2018 13:14

What does KOKO stand for please?

Eolian · 22/05/2018 13:16
