Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

We've reached the half way part now, and I hope you're finding it a bit easier - no more carb flu, and getting used to a different way of eating.

If you've suffered from the week 3, 4 or even 5 stall, I hope that this week you'll see the scales start to move (downwards!) again.

I hope you all have a good week

Had a lovely coffee with SayrraT today, who is as lovely in RL as she comes across on these threads SmileFlowers

We ignored all the cakes. I could tell even before I went into the Coffee Stop that it would have good cakes as there were a gazillion cyclists who had stopped there, and they are always real "cakes at coffee shops connoisseurs". But my coffee was good! Smile And it was a lovely day for a drive down to the Borders Smile even if ds' team did get trounced Hmm

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 17/02/2018 19:02

That sounds a gorgeous day, prettybird!

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 17/02/2018 19:07

B coffee with milk (as had run out of both cream and coconut cream - gah), slices of roast pork
L Aubergine/tomato/olive stew
S Brazil nuts
D shepherds pie with mashed celeriac topping
W about 500ml (spent the day somewhere where it’s impossible to wee, so most helpers load up on water the day before and then have very little during the event itself). Trying to catch up now.

Cloudylemons · 17/02/2018 19:18

Hi everyone, I’m late to the party but have looked at the spreadsheet of fabulousness. I always fail at recipes/menus/boredom so I’m going to follow the menu with fish guide. Are there any more than three days available? Thank you!
Btw I’m 5’2” and weighed 11st7 this morning, so quite a bit to lose.

Mimosa1 · 17/02/2018 19:22

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great weekend.

B - slice of buttered low carb bread (4g carbs) with 2 soft boiled eggs mashed in a ramekin with butter and mayo

S- celery sticks dipped in DeLouis mayo (so good I could eat it with a spoon and I don't even like mayo ordinarily)

L - chicken mayo and celery in a small low
Carb wrap (4g)

D - a baked Camembert with celery sticks (this is a bootcamp find - you can stick the normal wooden cases on a baking tray or else microwave it and it's so good and decadent) DH and I have been sharing one in front of the TV. Yum.

3 cups of milky tea

A bit too reliant on LC substitute products but otherwise feeling good about the amount of fat I've been having.

Nan0second · 17/02/2018 19:25

B creamy coffee after a 15.5hour fast
L 1/2 a gammon steak with 2 eggs
S: 2 tiny squares 85% chocolate (I try not to snack usually)
D: idiot proof moussaka with buttered broccoli and a tiny bit of leftover celeriac mash
Hoping to manage another 16 hour ish fast

Rshard · 17/02/2018 19:52

Sounds a lovely meet up prettybird and sayyra

Today I’ve eaten
B - bacon scrambled eggs
L - rollitos tuna pate cucumber
D - chicken fajita, salad sour cream

Spiderkitty · 17/02/2018 20:02

It seems to be Sayrra! Just been to A&E and it's broken, they said no riding, but I can ride one handed, right? Grin

Ended up having some chocolote and crisps out of the vending machine for tea through... not looking forward to the weigh in now!

Rayna37 · 17/02/2018 20:20

B: just a coffee with cream then parkrun followed by another coffee with milk
L: leftover korma and cauli rice plus 2 IPD barjias; have frozen the rest.
D: smoky pork ribs with red slaw (real meal revolution) with spinach, rocket and watercress and celeriac remoulade (bbcgoodfood) which was all fantastic. My first glass of red for 3 weeks. May or may not have another, tbc.
Water definitely ticked off today.

TheWayOfTheWorld · 17/02/2018 21:58

Logging today's food:

B: 1 egg, 1 slice liv light toast (3.5g carbs), fried mushrooms, creamy coffee. I really wanted egg and soldiers.
L: low carb chilli with cauliflower rice
D: fathead pizza, sm glass red wine
S: some dark chocolate, extra thick double cream
W: 3 litres

I think my appetite has definitely adjusted. When I first made fathead pizza, I used 1/2 the dough for my pizza base and polished off the lot. I used 1/3 today and could only eat half. The other half is in the fridge to have as a snack.

ASDismynormality · 17/02/2018 22:09

Ouch spider hope it heals soon!

BerylStreep · 17/02/2018 22:19

SpiderKitty oh no! I hope you recover soon.

B. 2 coffees with AM&C
L. 2 breakfast muffins (medallion of bacon, egg, parmesan and tomato
D. Out for dinner, goats cheese fritters (ate just the inside) with salad, bunless burger with cheese and bacon with mayo. 1 chip.

SayrraT · 17/02/2018 22:31

I'd still ride spider Grin you might need help tacking up though!

Yes, it was lovely to meet prettybird today Smile

Just back from a celebratory dinner with OH to celebrate new job success.

Welcome cloudy Grin if you have seen the 3 day menus in the spreadsheet then they are for under camp which is ultra low for people who have stalled or need a boost. If you look in the bootcamp topic you'll see recipe threads for meat, fish, vegetarian options which BIWI recently created. There will be lots of ideas there.

Cloudylemons · 17/02/2018 23:04

Thank you SayrraT I’d just been reading some threads and seen there are 3 very low carb days of menus. I’ve started straight on those, feeling great after seeing everyone’s losses on here!

Gammeldragz · 17/02/2018 23:29

Excellent new wig cherries. My mother in law had a few during chemo but none looked as real as yours have. (She is very happy her hair grew back curly though!)
spiderkitty I'd be too worried about how to land if I fell off, to ride one handed. But the last time I rode a horse I fell off and got concussion! Hope your hand heals quickly.

BumbleBeef30 · 18/02/2018 07:01

B mushrooms
L sea bass, lettuce and avocado
S two cups of tea with milk
D lamb stir fry
W 2 litres (need to drink more)

BadlyParkedRangeRover · 18/02/2018 07:10

Placemarking as running off to work

BIWI · 18/02/2018 08:57

Welcome @Cloudylemons!

As Sayrra says, those three days' worth of menus aren't really Bootcamp - they're ultra low carb days. However, nothing to stop you using those to start with! Make sure you read the rules of Bootcamp, but just jump in.

BIWI · 18/02/2018 08:58

... and apologies - I haven't got round to finishing the rest of the recipes yet. If you want any fish recipes, they're all still on the original Bootcamp recipe thread.

Mimosa1 · 18/02/2018 09:48

Hi ladies (and possibly any lurking gentlemen). I've got some leftover chicken roast, cream, cheese and cabbage. Is there some sort of "pasta" bake I could do with cabbage do you think? Or does that sound foul to you?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Destinysdaughter · 18/02/2018 10:07

Mimosa personally, I'd cook the chicken in a creamy sauce and cook the cabbage separately, but that's just me!

Cloudylemons · 18/02/2018 10:10

Thank you Biwi I’ll keep reading and learning!

Destinysdaughter · 18/02/2018 10:11

I made these low carb granola bars last week, they were lovely. I feel a bit guilty tho as they were too nice and, despite them being high in fibre, I'm wondering if they are as low carb as they claim to be? Here's the recipe:

Grain Free Granola bars

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes
Servings
Calories 234 kcal

Ingredients
350 g mixed nuts and seeds
50 g desiccated/shredded coconut unsweetened
2 tbsp cocoa nibs ( I used v high cocoa dark chocolate)
50 g coconut oil melted
4 tbsp tahini or nut butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 tsp dried cinnamon
pinch salt
3 tbsp granulated sweetener of choice or more, to your taste
2 eggs - medium
Metric grams - US measurements

Instructions
Place all the ingredients in the blender.
Pulse a few times until combined and still pieces of nuts and seeds can be seen.
Place in a greased and lined 18cmx27cm / 7x10 inch baking dish. If you bake it in a large dish, it will turn thin and crispy which can be really nice also.
Bake at 180C/350F for 20 minutes or until golden, not burnt.
Can be drizzled with 90% chocolate.
Recipe Notes
I used a mixture of almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds. sesame and linseed.

Struggling with lunches at the moment. This has always been true for me as i always feel quite uninspired which drives me towards junk. I've sickened myself of cheesy omelettes by now and i'm concerned that if i don't buck my ideas up that i'll end up falling off the wagon.

I've tried delaying breakfast (usually greek yoghurt) and having that as my lunch as that incorporates some fasting too, but there are days when doing that can make me a bit nauseous so it doesn't always work out.

Being on maternity but going back soon means that i need something with minimal prep. I'm also quite mindful of costs as i'm only on statutory pay now. I'm thinking of upping my quantities for evening meals and freezing a portion for lunch. Does this work for others?

ShagMeRiggins · 18/02/2018 12:20

I can feel and see my stomach flattening so that the overhang isn’t really there, which I wasn’t sure was going to be possible. It feels fucking fantastic!

Nice to finally catch up to the thread and as usual sending Flowers and Star to all who need them.

Mimosa1 that’s a lot of celery. We’re you just out of, erm, all the other glorious vegetables —that have proper nutrition in them—?
