Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

We've reached the half way part now, and I hope you're finding it a bit easier - no more carb flu, and getting used to a different way of eating.

If you've suffered from the week 3, 4 or even 5 stall, I hope that this week you'll see the scales start to move (downwards!) again.

I hope you all have a good week

I've never ever counted carbs on this WoE. Like BIWI says, what makes Boot Camp so easy to follow is that you don't need to count anything as long as you follow the rules! Smile

Rshard · 16/02/2018 14:30

Swinging by with yesterday’s food
B - scrambled eggs avo
L - ham cheese salad mayo
D - hm courgette lasagne

And today’s
B - scrambled eggs, 2 little pieces hm low carb
bread
L - leftover lasagne
D - deli bits including roll iris and tuna pate

Has anybody managed to prevent their courgette lasagne from going watery? I’ve tried grilling the pieces, salting them, placing in kitchen roll. Am I doing something wrong? It was much better warmed up today so maybe I should make it ahead?

prettybird · 16/02/2018 14:37

Rshard - I don't pre-cook the courgette at all, which seems to work ok. Smile

prettybird · 16/02/2018 14:41

....sorry, posted by accident.

I used to do the courgette as ribbons (discarding the middle, the seeded watery core), but last time I did them as diagonal slices (so therefore ovals), having seen Tom Kerridge do that. It worked well and was easier to serve up.

orkneyfudge · 16/02/2018 14:44

I'll consider myself told off then. I see what you're saying, but surely it's to to the individual to follow it as they see fit?

TheWayOfTheWorld · 16/02/2018 14:57

I think I've mentioned before that I track (but not count) carbs etc using MFP. I just upload everything and look at the fat/carb/protein split and marvel at all the lovely cream and butter in eating.

It is also useful to prove that this works to the naysayers. Chap at work was telling me about his girlfriend who is obsessed with eating low fat (5% or less) (this was in context of him commenting on the lovely aroma of my rather fatty lunch Grin) - anyway I pointed out to him that this was nonsense and I'd lost 10lb in just over a month eating 60-75% fat. He was quite astounded.

Speaking of fat, my celeriac dauphinoise the other night was lovely (touch too much rosemary) but VERY rich. Turns out that whilst I have halved all the other ingredients I hadn't halved the cream Blush

prettybird · 16/02/2018 15:21

No orkney - you should do whatever works for you Smile

But I honestly don't think that there are that many people who count their carbs on this WoE: it's just too much faff when you don't need to as long as you are following the Rules Grin and you want to avoid the Big Stick Wink Also, for some people it is unite triggering, after years of calorie counting misery. Sad

ASDismynormality · 16/02/2018 15:33

orkneyfudge. I counted when I started and occasionally if I fell I’m going off track count for short periods. It’s not needed but helped me feel in control.

Rshard · 16/02/2018 16:00

Thanks prettybird, I’ll try the diagonal slicing next time

That made me smile thewayof!

prettybird · 16/02/2018 16:14

That's how my lasagne looked last time I made it, after I'd taken a serving out (so you can see the top courgette layer - I had two layers). I don't salt the courgette either.

BIWI · 16/02/2018 16:59

@orkneyfudge - you can consider yourself told off if you want - but I wasn't telling you off! Grin Grin

It just seems daft making life more complicated. However, as @prettybird says, you do what works for you.

blackteaplease · 16/02/2018 18:43

Well done sayrra!

I have fallen off the wagon I'm afraid. I was hanging on by the skin of my teeth and then dh came back from his trip with a chest infection. Working, plus early starts/broken nights and juggling children has tipped me over the edge.

Rshard · 16/02/2018 18:45

Are you clambering back on though blacktea?

Great news sayyra!

blackteaplease · 16/02/2018 18:52

I will do rshard, I just need to muster up some energy.

LeapinLizards · 16/02/2018 18:54

Congrats to sayrra - fantastic news! Sorry to hear you've toppled off blacktea. Have a good sleep & start tomorrow as a new day

LeapinLizards · 16/02/2018 19:00

How long does it take for food to appear as weight, do you think? If I eat too much today, does that mean I weigh more tomorrow or does it take longer for it to show - a few days maybe?
I'm trying to work out what causes my gains - nuts or dairy - would be helpful to know so I can trace it back.
obsession with the scales is rising
