Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

We've reached the half way part now, and I hope you're finding it a bit easier - no more carb flu, and getting used to a different way of eating.

If you've suffered from the week 3, 4 or even 5 stall, I hope that this week you'll see the scales start to move (downwards!) again.

I hope you all have a good week

Big hug, cherries. Being JUST 5lbs from 'normal' is an immense achievement. This time last year you weren't. Now you're only 5lbs away. That's amazing.

(but yes, totally sympathise with the 'I wanted PROPER amazing not NEARLY amazing Flowers)

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 15/02/2018 15:06

ilovecherries - would it help if you looked at it like you've actually lost 12 out of 13 of the things you wanted to lose (if you count them in 5lb "lumps") - 12 out of 13! That's amazing! You've only got 1/13 to go, but you've still managed to lose 12 out of 13! Well done you!

(I get the cake thing, I really do, although for me it's chocolate - but oh so much. And today there were my favourite GF crackers on special offer in the supermarket and I had to physically pull my hand back from grabbing the box!)

Mimosa1 · 15/02/2018 18:18

Ilove joining the chorus of posters saying that you have done so so brilliantly. If you hadn't taken action, you'd be going to this appointment 60 or maybe more lbs heavier. You're amazing!

prettybird · 15/02/2018 18:19

ilovecherries - you've done a brilliant job and are an inspiration to many of us. I am sure the person who was recording your weight was Shock at the difference in only a year. Star

I made Tom Kerridge's almond soda bread today. I used psyllium husk instead of coconut flour, omitted the 1.5 tablespoons of erythritol and added a teaspoon of sunflower seeds. It turned out rather well - if a little eggy as others have said (next time I will cook it for longer).

Back to 9st 9. Phew.
Goal is 8st 7 so a fair way to go yet.

Still ... think I'm in ketosis as stopped feeling hungry all the time.

Almahart · 15/02/2018 18:48

I think I’ve eaten too much today
Two sausages and two eggs
Two cheese scones
Steak and cauliflower cheese with small glass red wine

Definitely don’t need two sausages that’s for sure

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 15/02/2018 18:54

B coffee with coconut cream, two Macdonalds sausage patties
L hazelnuts and olives (packed lunch fail, and too busy to leave office so had to manage with what was in my drawers
D Thai meatballs and spring onions in gingery broth

BlackMozart · 15/02/2018 19:05

ilove I echo everything others have said. You have achieved so much. What I really applaud is you trying to get that last 5 lbs off because I bet I’m not the only one here who in the past has got within half a stone of goal and then gave up at that last bit. That is certainly true for me. I have never succeeded in crossing the “holy grail “ of a line/weight/number that I also elevate to such a special status I am a failure to not make it. It’s really hard to let go of that. Paradoxically, striving for it may make it harder to reach.
A Buddhist friend of mine many years ago gave me a little rectangular mirror which in each corner has a tiny human figure stuck to it. I went in search of it when I read your post and found it!

On the front is a sticker that says, “Don’t worry, you are beautiful”.

On the back reads the following: “There is a story that when the Mayan population of Guatemala have worries, they tell them to the Worry People who take the worries away”.

So I offer it to you, and any of us frankly who might need it. I am going to carry it around with me and keep saying “don’t worry, you are beautiful”.

Apologies if this is straying from topic. [embarrassed]

JingsMahBucket · 15/02/2018 19:13

@ilovecherries your weight loss has amazing and inspiring. Can you imagine, losing 60lbs in a year? Those 5lbs per month! Every time you mention your journey I'm super proud of you and I try to refocus myself as well. I fell off the wagon today actually, and your humility has helped inspire me to get back on the wagon for this evening and tomorrow. Big hugs, lady. Flowers

abbey44 · 15/02/2018 19:23

cherries - just to put this into context....in the last year you've lost the weight of a large Weimaraner, the weight you still want to lose is a small bag of dog food.

I can tell you which I'd rather not have weighing me down...! Grin

abbey44 · 15/02/2018 19:25

This is the 60lb Weimaraner, by the way...

What a lovely picture abbey!

mrsglowglow · 15/02/2018 19:35

Cherries, your achievements are awesome!!! In one year you have transformed and it's so inspiring. Well done!

abbey44 · 15/02/2018 19:41

Thanks Mozart - that's my younger one, the bundle of trouble...

LeapinLizards · 15/02/2018 19:57

What a gorgeous dog - those eyes are amazing.

Spiderkitty · 15/02/2018 19:57

Had a bit of a blip yesterday, had 2 chocolates, a crisp and a couple of chips, felt bad afterwards, but kind of pleased I could just eat one crisp and 2 chocs and not just devour the lot like I usually would.

Today was back on track, although forgot my water this morning so only managed 2.5 ltrs.

B: Nothing, had to choose between riding and breakfast, riding won!
L: Leftover chicken, celeriac and spinich bake, chorizo, salad and mayo.
S: Cheese and an egg
D: Pork stroganoff and savoy cabbage.

headoutofthesand · 15/02/2018 20:00

Sarrya how did you get on today? I was thinking of you all morning and wondering how you had got from A to B.

Ilove whilst losing those additional five lbs would be perfect, what is key is the 60lbs that you have lost. That will have transformed your health. And well done for continuing to say "no" to the cake gremlin. Every time you do means that he will be less insistent next time.

Hopefully a better day for me today food wise. I didn't really register the sweet corn yesterday until I ate it. Considering most of the options were things like sausage roll, chips or macaroni cheese, I was so relieved that there was a salad option that I wolfed down the first half of it and only then did I think "hmmm... sweet corn, haven't had that for a while... probably a reason for that" and then did my best to avoid it.

Today
B - boiled egg; bowl of rocket with a bit of Parmesan & a glug of oil
L - courgette frittata & spinach with oil
S - bacon, leeks, mushrooms & kale sautéed in butter with a glug of cream added at the end
Snacks - lump of cheese; lump of butter

Rshard · 15/02/2018 20:01

Beautiful dog abbey

SayrraT · 15/02/2018 20:02

Aww cherries Flowers

Think the interview went OK! The only problem was when they mentioned the salary they'd want me to start on I was Shock It's 16% less than I'm on now Sad

Anyway, I was complaining to work colleagues about it then went back to my desk. I had a "off the record" email from one of the interviewers telling me to not be concerned about what HR said about salary and if I got the job I'd start higher up the scale.

I'm taking that email as a good sign and keeping my fingers crossed.

BlackMozart · 15/02/2018 20:05

Sayrra that does sound like a good sign...fingers firmly crossed 🤞

SayrraT · 15/02/2018 20:05

Oh meant to say pretty there are not many coffee shops in Biggar but we could go to the coffee spot.

I'll pm you my number now.

Week 6 - Low Carb Bootcamp - welcome to part 2
Spiderkitty · 15/02/2018 20:11

ilovecherries you have done amazingly and you should be so proud of how much you've lost, try to focus on that rather than the 5lbs.

abbey44 you're dog is adorable! I'm so dog broody at the moment! (Don't tell the cats...)

BlackMozart · 15/02/2018 20:15

Spiderkitty I am dog broody too! We had our lovely old bedlington terrier put down in the Autumn and I am trying to hang on until the hour changes and we get lighter evenings before going in search of another dog. Probably a rescue if we can.

abbey44 · 15/02/2018 20:20

Sayrra - that sounds promising, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too.

Thanks about the dog - she is lovely, but a proper teenager at the moment. It just struck me (dog and idea...) earlier, when she launched herself at me, that she weighs about the same as cherries has lost, and I thought looking at it like that sort of put it into perspective. I'm going to go and look for something that weighs what I've lost now so I can see my progress in a positive light.

BlackMozart · 15/02/2018 20:24

Brilliant idea abbey because even if we’ve only lost a small amount it always looks more impressive as something else!
