Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

We've reached the half way part now, and I hope you're finding it a bit easier - no more carb flu, and getting used to a different way of eating.

If you've suffered from the week 3, 4 or even 5 stall, I hope that this week you'll see the scales start to move (downwards!) again.

I hope you all have a good week

Blimey that’s an early start blacktea!

That’s why I don’t weigh daily grandold, I applaud those that have the resolve to understand/rationalise the daily fluctuations though, I think I’d struggle to do that so have go with a consistent approach

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 15/02/2018 08:08

I’m like leapinlizards, rshard. If I went all week and then had gone up I would go into a spiral of awfulness. Also I would kid myself throughout the week that I was doing well and so one little xxx wouldn’t make a difference. And would end up actually overeating.

Rshard · 15/02/2018 08:20

It’s funny how we’re all different isn’t it grandold. I like how this thread and woe makes us reflect on our relationships with food and losing weight.

TheSeasonOfTheWitch · 15/02/2018 08:24

Bad day yesterday... had a very stressful few weeks but I've stuck to this WOE like glue, until yesterday. Ate 8 rich tea biscuits, 2small slices of toast, 5 Lindt truffle balls.

I know it's not much in the grand scheme of things, I would have eaten at least that in a day and not thought twice about it before.

I just need to make sure I don't stay off the rails! So far today I've had creamy coffee.

ASDismynormality · 15/02/2018 08:28

Good luck SayrraT.

After an awful start to the week with a large gain I’ve had a bit of a whoosh and am now in the 180’s (just). This woe is certainly not consistent for me but most definitely works!

Week 6 - Low Carb Bootcamp - welcome to part 2
ASDismynormality · 15/02/2018 08:30

TheSeasonOfTheWitch. You’re doing the right thing, draw a line under yesterdays poor choices and carry on with this woe today.

BIWI · 15/02/2018 08:32

@SoMuchToBits - if you could do without the chocolate, then so much the better! Honestly, it's far better to do that than try and include it because you feel you 'ought' to or you 'deserve' it

@SayrraT - good luck! We're all behind you willing you to ace it Smile

@headoutofthesand

B : 2 eggs, scrambled with cream; bowl of rocket with olive oil
L: tuna mayo salad. Salad contained sweet corn

Did you eat the sweetcorn? One of the worse veg you could have had!

S - prawn terrine; steak; a couple of mouthfuls of chocolate mousse - 2x coffee with cream; 2 cups of tea with milk

Why did you eat the chocolate mousse?

Snacks also included a piece of courgette fritatta, some chicken. a lump of cheese & three grapes

And why did you eat the grapes? Again, one of the worst things you could have had if you were going to have fruit.

You may not think these things are much on their own, but if you're finding that you're not losing weight, then this could well be why!

Good luck, Sayrra! Go get em!

Mimosa1 · 15/02/2018 09:27

Good luck Sayrra!

My lovely DH has only gone and bought me a great British bake off contestant experience for Valentine's Day! It's in a marquee in the garden of a pub with actors playing the judges. I can't decide if he's been wonderful - I love GBBO - or if he's trying to sabotage my diet! Wink

TerfsUp · 15/02/2018 09:51

Morning, all.

How fun, Mimosa1! I am sure that you husband means well.

Good going, SayrraT.

TerfsUp · 15/02/2018 09:52

SotWitch, we all have bad days. Yesterday was yesterday and today is bright and sunny (at least where I am in England) so it's a good day to start afresh.

TerfsUp · 15/02/2018 09:52

Congratulations, ASD!

ilovecherries · 15/02/2018 10:35

I'm feeling quite low and down this week. Part of it is down to having my annual review (routine thing for a familial condition) next week. I hate going anyway because despite not being ill, I hate the way the hospital slots you into a 'patient' role. An example being their insistence on weighing you every time, even though that's completely irrelevant to the issue - it's just how they process everyone. So I desperately wanted to go with a normal bmi this year and all I can see is the fact I've still got 5lbs to reach that. Im letting that completely overshadow the 60 lbs that I HAVE lost.

Then there's the whole hair thing. Trying to be very positive about it but I feel quite dispirited about being so obviously balding. Not just thinning, but big bald patches. The wigs are great, I feel so much better when I wear them, but still...

And then it's been a hellishly stressful two weeks and despite it being nearly a year, I realise that my default coping mechanism would still be to eat. I'm not, but for the first time in months, I'm suddenly having to use will power and distraction techniques, because what I really want to do is have a slice of cake. Yes, I know that won't help really, which is why I DON'T do it, but I want to, so I keep fighting that gremlin. No amount of alternative self-care techniques are more appealing than the bloody cake is. (Not that I have cake in the house, I'd have to make it or buy it). I'm certainly not going to make low carb alternatives either, as even the thought of them is quite triggering. While I'm staying on plan, the driver behind eating is suddenly feeling more panicky. It doesn't feel particularly healthy to feel relief of anything other than hunger when I'm eating.

And finally. Is this last 5 pounds ever going to go!!!

EeeSheWasThin · 15/02/2018 11:05

ilove Focus on that 60lb, it doesn’t matter what category you’re in, you are 60lb lighter than when you went last year. 60lb!!! It’s an amazing achievement, you’ve done brilliantly.

I can’t imagine how it feels to lose your hair, but you looked amazing in those photos you posted. Anyone in the street will have no idea, you look wonderful and stylish and I also remember without looking back you have beautiful skin.

Keep fighting those fuck its...don’t give into the cake. You’ve been an inspiration to lots of people on bootcamp. I haven’t been here long so I’m sure there’s others with better advice than me but hang on in there.

TerfsUp · 15/02/2018 11:31

ilovecherries, I am sorry that you are going through a tough time and I hope things soon look up for you.

You have done a fantastic job of losing 60 lbs! Please don't let the last five lbs make you feel that you have somehow failed.

ASDismynormality · 15/02/2018 12:21

ilovecherries 60lbs is a fantastic loss. You are 60lbs closer to your goal than you were last year, you know that’s what you need to focus on not that pesky 5lbs which will fall off. Hope you feel more positive soon Flowers.

BIWI · 15/02/2018 12:50

60 plays 5 ... Star

China up @ilovecherries - you've done brilliantly

A 60lbs loss is amazing, you’ve done amazingly. And you support and inspire us all every day. I’m sorry to hear you’re feeling low

Gammeldragz · 15/02/2018 13:28

ilovecherries you've been doing amazingly at this, sorry you're having a down week. Can you reward yourself with something nice and non food related or a day out? You deserve recognition if only from yourself Flowers

Appaloosajunction · 15/02/2018 14:00

Sorry you are feeling low Cherries
I feel your pain re the hair issue. If I stand under the spotlights in our bathroom I could burst into tears sometimes!
It's hard not to turn to food in times of stress. In my case "comfort" eating does make me feel better briefly but it never lasts of course. There is a very very high price to pay.
I keep telling myself this but it is not easy. Good luck.
Losing 60lbs is fantastic. You are an inspiration on here.

nekobus · 15/02/2018 14:07

Oh cherries ThanksThankssorry you are feeling so low. You have done so well with your 60 pounds loss, and don't forget your amazing skin and eyebrows!! 60 so trumps 5 Smile. Your are an inspiration Star

abbey44 · 15/02/2018 14:43

cherries - I'm adding to the others who are urging you on. Your 60lbs is keeping me going, and your eyebrows, well, let's just say they inspired me to make an appointment to get mine done and later today I'm hoping my scrawny little brows will be more like yours Smile Flowers

LeapinLizards · 15/02/2018 14:49

cherries imagine yourself as the person weighing you. They will need to check and doublecheck that the weight is correct and that you have indeed lost 60lbs - 60lbs?!!!!!! I bet there will be very few people they see who have lost that in a year. The 5lb will come off - just because it hasn't for this deadline that you set doesn't mean it won't drop at some stage. Flowers

Almahart · 15/02/2018 14:54

A bit late but Sayra I hope it went well!!!

ilovecherries you have done amazingly. I’m sorry you are feeling down, you have so much to be proud of. Agree with others you look fabulous in the pictures you have posted
