New Year, New Start Week 2: This WoE works!

Welcome to Week 2 - the one where many of us (especially the newbies) will see the biggest drops. For those that don't, the drops will come. We will have seen other benefits too: brighter eyes, smaller waist (with the reduction of dangerous visceral fat from around our organs) - and all without feeling hungry Smile Week 2 is also when I find that my pschological urge to snack reduces.

Remember that you still need to adhere to the Rules. This is not a forgiving Way of Eating and if you cheat, you will set back the process of getting your body to adapt to fat burning. Only one more week of being ultra strict - it is only one more week Smile If you're thinking of cheating, come on here and we will talk you down. It really helps if you are prepared and have low carb snacks with you, or drink some water when you think you are hungry.

Keep drinking the required water ( StuntNun has explained why this is important). Avoid nuts and seeds (unless you are veggie), all fruit (you can look forward to the odd treat of berries from next week) - and no alcohol or artificial sweetender for another week.

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here to remind you to keep to the straight and narrow with the Rules and with resources to advise you. You can weigh-in if you choose to, but it is not compulsory. Over the weeks, your weight loss will start to average 1-2lb a week, sometimes more sometimes less .

The Week 1 Spillover thread is here.

Dh opened a good bottle of wine tonight to go with the steak Hmm. I'm hoping to help him finish it tomorrow night - although it won't go as well with the chilli, so I might still forego it Wink

Hmm, just googled, kidney beans are quite carby, but I only had a few so not too worried.

Borderterrierpuppy · 21/01/2018 22:37

Jumping back on board today , I lost 22 kgs last year doing low carb and know it works and I feel better. Lost my mojo after my summer holidays and have regained 10 kgs since September. Back on today and am not going to mess around this week, I know that when I am back 7 days I won't look back, waves to all !

BerylStreep · 21/01/2018 22:45

I'm not the earliest riser, so thought it better to start tomorrow's thread now before I go to bed. Week three thread here

BorderTerrierPuppy welcome - come and join us on the new thread!

prettybird · 21/01/2018 22:50

Welcome back Borderterrierpuppy SmileThe positive is that you didn't regain all the weight that you put on Grin

Stick to the Rules for the first 2 weeks (even though, as it will be Week 3 for most of us, some of is will be moving on to Boot Camp Lite for at least some of the time ) and that weight will soon shift Smile

Beryl is taking over from tomorrow so she will be wielding the Big Stick, which I am reluctantly relinquishing Wink

You've done really well Prettybird, thank you. And thanks to Beryl for volunteering for the next stint.

prettybird · 21/01/2018 23:06

Cross posted with you Beryl Smile

You are very organised! Grin

Is Beryl going start new thread so t's easy to see her posts?

BIWI · 22/01/2018 05:13

Yes she has already! Read the thread

JumpingintoLCHF · 22/01/2018 06:20

Well done prettybird. You did a great job!

MasterFlamingo · 22/01/2018 06:31

Thank you so much prettybird for keeping us on the straight and narrow this past fortnight. And thanks to Beryl for taking this on.
I think I’ve had a good week - I certainly feel great. Now to brave standing on the scales! See you all in week three. Good luck campers.

Twoo · 22/01/2018 06:53

Happy Monday Everyone

Not posted for a few days as I have been away. Will catch up on reading the full thread later today.

Pretty’ get ready with the Big Stick. I’ve had a few items not boot camp friendly. I won’t post what. But what I will say is that I’m doing another few days to a week of boot camp and won’t be weighing today.

So does my last weeks weight just get reentered it is it left blank?

B - Scrambled egg with cheese & butter
L - Broccoli Soup
D - Not decided yet.
W - 3 ltrs
S - Coffee with cream.

Twoo · 22/01/2018 06:55

Sorry just seen the post saying Beryl is now in charge. Does she have a big stick too? Grin

Rshard · 22/01/2018 07:37

Thanks for the new thread beryl, I’m not weighing in today due to my finger currently having a massive bandage on it, that frankly must weigh a ton! Also I’m at home so can’t get to Boots. Still carrying on with this woe though, obviously.

Haven’t eaten brilliantly this weekend due to the injury but could have been much much worse but I’m back in it today. Dh has left me measured out water in the fridge, bless him and made me eggs before he left for work and a salad for lunch.

prettybird · 22/01/2018 07:49

Beryl has prised the Big Stick out of my hands and has started a new thread (she posted the link last night - scroll down to find it).

Twoo - just put the weight in for this week when you are happy to do so. I occasionally only weigh on a Tuesday or Wednesday Shock

Reporting a 6lb loss for BC, and almost 8.5lb since i started cutting carbs before Christmas. Absolutely chuffed! I'm now around half a stone away from my pre pregnancy weight so if I can shift that before the end of BC i shall treat myself to some new clothes that aren't Primark leggings!

Going to stay on BC strict rules and I particularly need to work on my water intake. It's much better than before this woe but i'm struggling to hit target without drinking pints at a time, which isn't as effective as spreading it out.

prettybird · 22/01/2018 09:05

Thunderbolts - there is a new week 3 thread - link posted late last night.

.....congratulations on your progress though! Smile

MumOfAPickle · 22/01/2018 11:18

Thought I'd post my last 2 days food here so the new thread can be a fresh start
Sat:
B: eggs and smoked salmon
L: pub lunch, had the pork with celeriac and kale and swapped the black pudding potato cake for roasted veg
D: nibbles of chicken wings, prawns, mange tout, tomatos, mozzarella balls
S: less said the better I think.....

Sun:
B: smoked salmon and eggs
L: pret tuna Niçoise salad
D: meatballs in tomato sauce with salad
S: yogurt with double cream

Thanks prettybird for all your support, advice and big stick wielding (I needed it!)
Here's to a fresh, new week. I'm going to continue on full bc at least for the weekdays and see how I feel come Friday

Twoo · 22/01/2018 15:03

I braved the scales this morning to find that I’ve remained at 10st 13lbs. I’m pleased as I’ve had foods not complicit with this woe.

Onwards & upwards Grin

Can someone be so kind as to add me to the sheet. I’m not confident I won’t muck it up. Thank you 🙏

BerylStreep · 22/01/2018 16:15

In case anyone has missed it, week three thread is here

Basseting · 22/01/2018 19:20

Can i join pls or am I too late???
(sorry, just found you).
Starting weight is: 247lbs Sad

I like a cafetiere of strong coffee in the morning but drink it with green top milk. I dont like cream. Is this okay?
I usually then eat 2 boiled eggs on granary toast.

Lunch is usually soup (and more bread)

Dinner is whatever the kids are having - nursery food. Plus cake.

I have gained weight slowly over many years. My hormones are out of whack and my life is quite stressful. I eat a lot of fruit, salad, veg but my portion sizes are too big and I find sugar really addictive.
I am hoping this WOE can help me avoid bariatric surgery tbh.

So, I need to lose the bread, pasta, cake, chocolate.
Drink more water, cut down on milk.
What else? (I am going to read the thread but it might take a while...)

prettybird · 22/01/2018 19:29

Basseting - it's not too late at all, but you should come and join us on the Week 3 thread. Read the Rules in one of the tabs of the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness, commit to 2 weeks of "full" Boot Camp and welcome to this Way of Eating.

You might also find it useful to read the Week 1 and 2 threads as you'll find explanations and inspirational stories to get you motivated. Smile

OP posts:
Basseting · 22/01/2018 19:36

So I should join in next Monday you mean?

prettybird · 22/01/2018 19:42

No - the Week 3 thread has already started (link in the post before your first one). You can jump in at any time. The support is there for everyone. But for maximum effect, you should be strict for the first 2 weeks (full Boot Camp Rules) before moving on to Boot Camp Lite (as some - but not all - of us are now doing).

We're a friendly bunch! Smile

OP posts:
Basseting · 22/01/2018 20:04

doh! missed the link sorry!
So, do I do 2 weeks bootcamp BEFORE I join wk 3 or just join wk 3 but do 2 weeks starting from there, iyswim?
