Morning campers Flowers

Here's the SoF

From last week's thread it sounds like most people are managing to stick on track for most of the time, which is great.

We have four full weeks left, so still time to make a big difference.

Hope this week goes well.

Thanks yolo. I have googled and am reassured it's coming out off both sides but have booked an appointment for later on this morning (surprised I managed to get one!). I tired googling my problem with LC and it does seem it can cause hypothyroidism which could be the issue?

GailLondon · 22/11/2017 09:15

Cheesy cauliflower beef for dinner last night, tasted hearty and warming like a cottage pie!

Week 7 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Still with us?!
Cherrypi · 22/11/2017 09:33

Had a three pound whoosh and am in the 12s (just). Yay. Going to drink loads of water to try and stay there. Almost at half a stone this bootcamp. I wonder if starting on the mini pill has made weight loss slower this bootcamp?

Cherrypi · 22/11/2017 09:34

Ooh Gail. That looks amazing. Think I’ll try that next time the family have spag Bol.

Almahart · 22/11/2017 11:11

That looks delicious Gail

Two pounds off this morning so am happy about that

Off work with achey legs abs tiredness but not feeling that fluey just hurting legs

TimbuktuTimbuktu · 22/11/2017 11:37

Hope the doctors visit goes well ASD and you get some answers.

My NSV from last night was attending a canapé reception and managing to avoid the huge range of carby snack and cakes. I had a few crudités with beetroot dip and a glass of wine

TimeIhadaNameChange · 22/11/2017 11:40

Well I've had an interesting morning! Went to the gym for W2R1. Was all fine, until the final 5 min walk when the fire alarm went off. I wasn't unduly worried (suspect the Macmillan Bacon Butty Morning) and stopped off at my locker for my keys (so I could get back in - I was being clever!). Went outside, chatted to a few people then went back to the gym when the alarm went off, stopping to chat to the cleaner who said she'd be round soon but she'd give me time to finish off.

Went back inside, then realised I'd dropped the locker key somewhere which caused a panic (as you're not supposed to take them outside). Checked inside first, then went outside to look, only then remembering I should have picked up the gym key again. So am now locked out. Finally find locker key, think it's ok as the cleaner will be here soon.

Wait half an hour, wander around a bit but don't want to go too far and miss the cleaner, plus am in gym wear (not a good look, why did I choose today to wear lycra for the first time in a century???) and don't really want to be seen. Finally, after about 30 mins, head back to my office where I am finally able to get in touch with someone who can let me back in. Phew! So, at long last, can have shower and begin to warm up.

Exercise really isn't good for me. Not sure this morning's stress helped with the anxiety levels, somehow! And I was going to do my but and have a butty-less bacon butty for charity, but I've really gone off the idea!

At least I managed my C25K session. Whether I'll be able tomorrow morning remains to be seen.

ASDismynormality · 22/11/2017 11:51

GP was unconcerned and said it will probably just go, gave me a blood form for prolactin, fbc and thyroid but told me to only do it if the problem remains - I will get it done tomorrow!

RaininSummer · 22/11/2017 11:56

Gray, I think I would shrivel and die in those temperatures. Where are you? I always joke with my students that I am glugging back vodka. In the seventies, I think mky teachers really were.

pimmsy · 22/11/2017 12:03

@starsky22

Did they give you the perfume things to smell to choose your menu?
I work near there and it's my favourite place to go if I have a meal planned with clients!

starsky22 · 22/11/2017 12:32

@pimmsy No they didn't! We saw them getting another couple to smell something and wondered what they were doing! Loved being able to have a look at the chefs in the kitchen.

pimmsy · 22/11/2017 12:35

If you're still wondering they give you a selection of little paper perfume things to smell and depending on the smells you prefer they choose a special menu for you! A bit alice in wonderland.

Scabbersley · 22/11/2017 12:50

Afternoon all

B: nowt, except decaff coffe with almond milk and a cup of bovril
L: fried cabbage, courgette and sprouts with a crumbled up sausage and then cheese on top - yum. Warming before havign to go and deal with my horses and bring them in before the rain hits.

prettybird · 22/11/2017 13:00

So that others don't waste the money: the Lidl 95% Ecuadorian chocolate might only be cheap and 1.6g carbs per square but it is not worth it. Sad Yuchhhhh Sad I'll revert to my treat of 90% Lindt chocolate.

I may end up chopping it up and using it in the choc chip cookies (which also have milk and white chocolate in them) that I make for ds' rugby team.

YoLoElfSocks · 22/11/2017 13:04

ASD Your gp sounds great. Hopefully you are reassured by them not being overly concerned.

pimmsy that dining experience sounds amazing!

YoLoElfSocks · 22/11/2017 13:05

prettybird 85% from Aldi is very nice.

Singadream · 22/11/2017 13:05

after posting my gain yesterday last night when I did my daily weigh in I was alb down. Yay - I think maybe the gain also because I was on period. Am reinvigorated by it though.

Kleptronic · 22/11/2017 13:48

Well my blood test saga continues. Cholesterol is 6.8, too high. They don't have any more details than that. Bother. There was me going to do an egg fast for my stall!

prettybird · 22/11/2017 14:19

Caveat: I'm not medical.....but I think you need to see a breakdown of that cholesterol figure to see the relative HDL and LDL levels.

StuntNun · 22/11/2017 15:13

I agree with Pretty about the cholesterol Klep. Yes that's higher than ideal but still all but meaningless without the other values. They will have tested everything, I wonder why they won't give you the breakdown of results.

ASD I've never heard of that issue before. LC doesn't cause hypothyroidism afaik but it can reveal a problem that was already present because of the way it affects the thyroid hormones. You may need to increase your carb intake or have a carb refeed once a week or once a fortnight.

Kleptronic · 22/11/2017 15:40

I wonder why too StuntNun, it's really annoying!

I've given more blood today and will get very demanding when the next results are in.

Jerm123 · 22/11/2017 17:12

Hello all, I wonder if anyone can help? I started off well and lost 10lbs ( including first week whoosh) by week 3. Since then, I’ve stuck at 200lbs. I’m desparate to loose 4lbs more by Christmas and think I must be doing something wrong. The only things I sometimes do ( not frequently) are not have enough vegetables, or water. I try to drink 3l of water a day, as well as coffee and tea, but have only managed 2 a couple of days.

Today I have had:
B Coffee with cream and a small handful of hazelnuts.
L Chicken in a homemade lemon/butter sauce on a bed of spinach.
S homemade celeriac and celery soup - made with chicken stock, shallots, celeriac and celery.- currently cooking.

If I am hungry during the day I snack on cheese cubes and nuts.

I will have had one other cup of coffee and 2 of tea by the end of the day.

This is not the first time i’ve Lost weight using a low carb diet, but is the first time I’ve stalled for more than one week.

Help......please

Veryflummoxed · 22/11/2017 17:25

Dlunch today turkey with an almond flour crumb, cauliflower and broccoli.

Dinner. Turkey casserole.

Almond milk chai latte.

Water and herb teas.

Almahart · 22/11/2017 17:33

Jerm I would cut out the nuts

I'm not well today

B was decaff coffee with almond milk
L 1 sausage and 2 scrambled eggs
D HM beef curry with egg cauliflower rice

Have drunk loads of water. Hoping it get to 10'8 by end of next week

prettybird · 22/11/2017 17:40

Jerm - how many nuts and how much cheese are you having? Are you genuinely hungery when you have them? I ask because I myself have been guilty of snacking too much on them - not because I am hungry but out of habit. I've found that since I've restricted myself from not having too much of them, I've managed to maintain my steady 1lb a week loss - whereas during the "Inbetween BottCamps over the summer, I was stalling a bit due to too much snacking . Glosses over fact that I have started to slip back into snacking on almonds so will need to knock that on the head if I want to see the additional 3lb loss I want by the end of November Blush

We're also only in Week 7, having completed 6 weeks. That means you've lost on average over a lb a week Smile. Keep the faith, continue on this WoE and I'm sure you'll achieve your 4 lb by Christmas.
