Good morning Flowers

So the last thread reached 1000 posts. I don't think that's ever happened on any other Bootcamp! It's a really good sign that everyone is engaged in the process, even if it's not always been from a positive place. If things aren't working for you, please keep reading and posting - even if you just lurk, hopefully the support and advice here will be helpful for you.

But it's a glorious day again, and the sun is shining brightly already and the birds are singing their hearts out. I hope that this translates into positivity and optimism for all of us this week - even if you've been struggling!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

We're past the dreaded weeks 4 and 5 now, so hopefully things will start to get going in the right direction, and you should see the weight move downwards - assuming, of course, that you aren't cheating or allowing carb creep.

Good luck everyone

dust
It's not you, it's the House of M&S!
I spent couple of hrs there trying on bras, trousers, dresses, skirts and ended up buying nothing. I'm sure you look lovely, don't let one unflattering outfit upset you Flowers

Mandelinka · 25/06/2017 19:12

Beautiful looking quiche sunborn
I've noted down the recipe

HemanOrSheRa · 25/06/2017 19:18

Honestly dust I'm 5ft 2 and a size 18. I look like a weeble Grin. I wore a bikini on holiday last year after a 'fuck it' moment. Nobody gives a shit. Really they don't.

And have you seen the hideous pink dress of the summer from M&S? They do not have a clue about women and want they want. They've lost it. Apart from maybe the odd floaty beach dress. Try somewhere else. Phase Eight maybe?

ilovecherries · 25/06/2017 19:34

All packed for holidays and just about to leave as it's a four hour drive to the airport, so we are staying there overnight for an early morning flight. :). I have packed 4 bikinis. I'm a size 18 bottom and no idea my actual top size as I have 36K boobs which require a 22 in anything non-stretchy. However, most of my summer dresses are an 18 this year, with a couple of 16s. I also have shorts, and I plan to wear them. And sleeveless linen tees. I'm refusing to wear tents this year.

Today's food:
B: fasting
L: salami, olives, Greek salad
D: pork chop on the bone, courgette fries and brocilli.
S: none yet but have taken cream in case I want a coffee on the road.

dustmotesinthesun · 25/06/2017 19:36

M&S is shit isn't it? Grin I actually bought these trousers on ebay. I get most things on there now because of always changing size. They will be sold on. They can make some other bugger miserable Grin

You're all amazing so thank you for trying to give me a lift.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/low_carb_bootcamp/2963577-Defeating-emotional-eating?watched=1&msgid=70013663#70013663

I mentioned earlier about a support thread for emotional eating, so I have started one if anyone wants to chat, share resources etc.

Great day for me, have stuck to 3 meals with no snacking and have done the egg fast (at least I hope I did it right) just eggs, butter and cheese. 3 delicious meals, not at all hungry. Managed to stop eating at 6 which will add onto my fasting hours. Totally ignored amazing spread of cake despite being sat in a room with it for 4 hours. And have had several compliments today about my appearance. Wearing my new size 16 PJs and feeling really positive Grin

HemanOrSheRa · 25/06/2017 19:56

Have a wonderful holiday ilove. WEAR YOUR BIKINIS (yes I am SHOUTING and also waving my arms around to make my point) Smile.

PlymouthMaid1 · 25/06/2017 20:00

Today I have eaten: Greek yog and berries, almond based quiche and salad with mayo, smoked haddock, cauli rice and spinach. Two creamy coffees. Not enough water yet had about two pints but feel too full for me. Sister who I haven't seen for three months asked if I have lost weight plus my jeans are irritatingly baggy in the arse and legs and falling down. Not going to be put off if the scales don't reflect this yet again.

SayrraT · 25/06/2017 20:01

Aww dust everyone has already said what I was going to say so just some Flowers for you.

BIWI when you said you knew how dust felt did you mean now or from having having feelings like that in the past. If you meant now, remember that you can also post with problems etc.

I'm feeling very smug just now, my cousin asked mum and me to make her wedding cake next year. Mum is doing the cake but I'm doing fondant flowers, she wasn't sure what type of flowers so I've been trying different types today and I've not eaten a single bit of icing Shock

I don't actually like icing but normally I'd still have eaten a bit.

Had Chester's Chicken for lunch today, it was yum!

NamelessEnsign · 25/06/2017 20:06

Dust I bet we are a similar shape. All my stretch marks from pregnancy were on my inner thighs and no where else - which made already thick chunky thighs lumpy as well. I remember thinking (and being told)my legs were fat at 7; I remember never wearing pale trousers as a slim toned athlete (8st and all muscle, training twice daily) because my legs were lumpy and wide. Obviously there is some ED talking there but I have never had a thigh gap, however thin or fit.

I too have cried when trying on trousers; I don't wear skirts or dresses because my thighs rub.

Do you know what though; fuck it; these legs can run a long way, can lift and carry my children; can take a lot of pain and keep going. There will be other, nicer trousers on another day!

MOIST · 25/06/2017 20:19

OldBooks - thanks. I'll pop over shortly.

B. Creamcoffee
L. Fried chicke, avocado, exam
D. Fried pork, courgette in Parmesan and cauliflower in a weird egg/ricotta/Parmesan sauce.

S. Raspberries, blueberries and a bite of inedible fudge.

More wine. I really must stop.

Naschkatze · 25/06/2017 20:25

Sunborn That looks yummy! Might try the cauliflower tabbouleh this week.

Adalind That is exciting!

Have a great holiday Ilove! I hope there is lots of delicious LC food.

Food:
Brunch- cream cheese pancakes. First time I've tried these, I was pleasantly surprised! Looking forward to topping them with berries next time but I was saving my carbs for dinner at MILs
Dinner - Roast chicken, salad, mayo. Berries and cream.
Snacks - hard boiled egg, 2 cups of tea.

I'm currently snacking on cucumber slices and cheddar. I wasn't really hungry, just fancied something. Don't know why I do this. My appetite is much less on this WOE, part of me wonders if I need to make sure I eat more because I'm feeding DS or will eating to hunger be enough?

C4pinkwheels · 25/06/2017 20:28

All I've eaten today is a few slices of cheese- drunk loads of water but just not hungry and DH being a miserable git has pissed me off.
I spent an hour vacuuming and mopping the kitchen only to discover DSS has been sitting on his arse all day watching TV, then DH went to the shop himself because he wanted to let DSS relax - he's home for the summer, doesn't work other than 3 shifts a week of bar work, does nothing around the house or garden and treats the house like a hotel.

I've obviously got a dose of LC miserable bitch syndrome

ChesterDrawers · 25/06/2017 20:39

Happy holidays ILove

I've just managed to make fathead pizza and crikey was it good. I had half though so now feel like I've eaten too much, and was way too much dairy. Good news is I have no room left for chocolate. Still need to chug my way through a litre of water before bed though.

YoLoZammo · 25/06/2017 20:53

dust M and S trousers are shapeless abominations. Your legs are not.

There is a reason their clothing profits are in the shitter and they are focusing on food instead. I found good trousers in TKMaxx. Even for my size, and a good price too.

nekobus · 25/06/2017 20:55

Dust Flowers glad you are not detailed but I know that feeling, and as pp said don't let an ill-fitting pair of M&S trews get you down - they do sell some gawd-awful stuff!!

Re. leg chafe, I've just bought a couple of pairs of short style pants things (one jockey, one sloggi - will report back!) as I'm determined to wear skirts and dresses with bare legs this summer.
I think my legs are like yours nameless although my stretch marks were gained way before DC from my yoyo weigh gain/loss over many years. In fact my skin was was so 'loose' when I got pregnant I didn't get any new stretch marks! Grin

Can you budge up on that bench Chester and C4, DH and the kids have been driving me nuts all day - not least when DH announced that I was going to do all the jobs while he sat on his arse and watched F1 grrrrrr

nekobus · 25/06/2017 20:57

Detailed = derailed! Bloody phone

NamelessEnsign · 25/06/2017 21:00

chester yey for fathead pizza joy! I bloody loved having it for lunch too.

Nekobus do report back on short shorts - they always just seem to roll up on me and make it worse!

nekobus · 25/06/2017 21:17

I'll let you know how I get on nameless, I got desperate in the heat last week and wore a dress then ended up doing a sort of bow legged walk to get some air up there and stop the thigh rub!! Luckily just at home but still reminded me that summer is a bloody nightmare for the heavy of thigh!

I want to make fathead pizza tomorrow, but my grated moz (unopened) is dated best before 22nd - if it looks and smells ok should I just use it???

cathyandclare · 25/06/2017 21:17

Inspired by Sayrra I have done my first pole-fit class. My arms may never move again!!!
It was such fun though, it didn't feel like exercise- I was the oldest swinger in town, at least twice the age of the other newbies, but I was OK with the physical stuff, just rubbish at looking slinky!!

SayrraT · 25/06/2017 21:23

Woohoo! Well done cathyandclare you will have trouble getting in the car and changing gear (if you drive). Grin

NamelessEnsign · 25/06/2017 21:24

Yeah, just sniff and taste it nekobus, you'll know if it's off.

ChesterDrawers · 25/06/2017 21:26

Hell yeah Neko go for it. Cheese is only gone off milk in the first place! And 3 days is nothing and fathead pizza is fit

nekobus · 25/06/2017 21:26

Wow well done cathy!

Lol at gone off milk 😂

imustbepatient · 25/06/2017 21:29

I have those sloggi pants and can definitely recommend them. Like someone said upthread, even when I was a slim size 10 in the 90s and a 12 in part of the 00s I never had a thigh gap, not at the very top anyway, only from about halfway down. It's just the shape of my thigh as much as a weight thing. So as a size 16-18 at the moment you can imagine what they are like now!

The sloggi ones are definitely good and being cotton they feel nice and breathable in the summer heat too. I also have some bandelinos I think they are called, basically they look like the tops of stay up stockings, without the stockings. They have the same rubber type lines inside them to grip to your thighs. I've found they are good for days when pottering about, shortish walks etc but not as good as the sloggis for days when I do hours of walking.

Anyway, hope that helps must stop waffling about thigh rub
